"...the marathon race!" Midnight called loudly, the crowd going wild with enthusiasm. Up above in the observation room Nezu frowned as he removed his paw from a button labled "Extreme hide and seek death match". He pressed it several times before facepalming when he noticed someone had spiled a drink into the console and caused a short circuit. He made a mental vow to personally torment whoever ruined his fun. In the back rooms of the stadium Yagi shuddered fearfully.

"Why did that feel like Gran Torino annoyed at me but times seven?" The skeletal man gulped nervously as he looked over his shoulder.

"Will the contestants please line up at the starting line!" Midnight called loudly. "Rules are simple, make it to the end to win! There will be no deviating from the path and you can't use your quirk on other contestants!"

"Izu-sama please look out for 1B, Neito is upto something again and he made sure to not let me know." Ibara spoke up softly as she made her way over to her fellow greenette.

"Shut it shitty hair!" Bakugo snapped.

"Quiet Pomeranian." Ochako growled back.

"3!" Present Mic called.

"2!" Midnight followed up as the students tensed in anticipation.

"1!" They both called.

"Go..." Aizawa droned in a lackluster tone as a burst of ice froze the entire entryway. The only one out right away was Shoto todoroki.

"Go Shoto!" Endeavor shouted from the stands.

"Bastard." Shoto growled to himself as the sound of explosions, roaring fire and cracking ice came from behind him.

"" Bakugo roared as he literally exploded out of the tunnel. Not too far behind him Izuku was rushing out of the tunnel with his skull a inferno of green fire. Iida, despite being a speed quirk barer was slipping on the ice and barely getting any traction as the rest of 1a and 1b thundered out around him.

"Let's go!" Izuku called as he kept neck and neck with Charlie, Mina who had been behind them at the start was quickly gaining on them using her acid to skate along the ground with propulsion from her wings.

Watson who had been considered a likely contender for first place by Izuku however was still stuck in the ice and trying to chip away at it. Gura meanwhile had fallen over and was trying to get back up but kept bouncing off of the walls as she did so.

"And we're off to a explosive start, was Todoroki's move legal?!" Present Mic chuckled at his own pun while Eraserhead merely groaned but nodded. "I didn't even know the little listener had wings!"

"She rarely shows them." Aizawa deadpanned. "It's illogical to show all one can do right off the bad Afterall."

"Coming through on Mei industries extendo legs !" Mei cackled as she used extendable stilts to walk over the other students.

"Hatsume." Aizawa deadpanned. "This isn't a advertisment."

"Nothing will stop me!" Mei cackled as the stilts deployed roller blades and she shot ahead of everyone, even Shoto, with the help of a rocket pack built into the stilt housing.

"Aizawa, that girl's crazy!" Present Mic laughed.

"Unfortunately." Aizawa groaned as Mei slammed into the leg of the first 0 pointer. "We'll be working on her steering next it seems aswell."

"AND OUR FIRST STUDENT HAS MET THE ROBO INFERNO!" Present Mic called loudly.

"Quiet!" Aizawa snapped waspishly as he rubbed at his sore ear.

"MELT THEM SHOTO!" Endeavor shouted from the stands. Shoto growled as he created a massive glacier encasing the upper portions of the 0 pointers in ice.

"Plus ultra!" Tetsutetsu shouted as he charged forwards while those from 1A hesitated, knowing full well that the robots were off balance.

"I wouldn't if I were you!" Shoto called back, his warning however was ignored as Tetsutetsu and Neito charged forwards just as the robots fell.

"Holy shit!" Toga uttered with wide eyes.

"Language!" Mitsuki and Inko snapped while Beru croaked in fright.

"Are they ok?!" Tsu croaked in fright as she stopped at the downed robot along with Izuku, Charlie, Momo and Mina to try and help the two students. Bakugo meanwhile had just kept on using his explosions to chase after todoroki.

"NOT MANLY!" Tetsutetsu screamed as he struggled to remove the weight from his back, next to him Neito who had copied his quirk growled in anger as he glared at Shoto's back.

"1A scum! Quiet cheating!" Neito called in anger.

"They're fine." Charlie sighed as the two got up and continued running.

"They could be a bit nicer kero." Tsu sighed.

"Come on, we've got to go aswell!" Izuku called as he rushed off, green fire pooling around his legs as he ran, burst of the supernatural flames wrapped around his legs as he went.

"Eraser your students are on fire!" Present Mic cackled as the students Began to approach of the next obstacle.

"Your pun was bad, you should feel bad." Aizawa deadpanned.

"C'mon guys!" Tsuyu called as she waved her arm for the others to continue running.

"I'm FREEEEEEEEE-EEEEEEKKKK!" Gura squealed, despite finally being free of the ice the girl had gone flying into the side of the 0 pointer with a dull metalic thud. "I'm good!"

"Come on." Tsu croaked as she picked up the smaller girl and helped her to her feet.

"And get ready folks our front runners have come to a test of real Ballance and determination, it's THE FALL!" Present Mic shouted using his quirk. "And todoroki and Bakugo both neck and neck clear the fall with ease, Hatsume not far behind with Midoriya and Magne quickly gaining ground with Iida in hot pursuit!"

"Oh jeeze." Izuku gulped as he skidded to a stop by the massive 40ft wide pit, it was so deep he couldn't see the bottom!

Up in the overlooking monitor room Nezu chuckled to himself as he eyed the seven crates worth of vantablack spray, half of which he had gone through just to make the "bottomless pit" in all honestly it was only 8ft deep tops and had foam mats a foot and a half tall in the bottom. He still cursed the HSC for cutting the budget and imposing a depth limit on any pits on school property.

"Over there!" Charlie called as she rushed for to a series of platforms suspended over the pit and started to jump between them.

Tsu who had just caught up along with Momo and Jirou followed her while Ochako and Reiko merely flew over. Izuku shuddered briefly as he extinguished his fire and heard some of the people in the crowd retching as his skin grew back.

Like many others he was forced to jump platform to platform over the pit, Mina meanwhile cackled to herself as she flew over the pit with no issues.

"Oh look, it's as dark as my soul." Tokoyami intoned as he peered down into the "bottomless pit" before continuing his way across.

Soon enough Izuku had made is across and was quickly gaining on Mina who herself was in 3rd place. Neito and Tetsutetsu having both apparently sucked at crossing the pit were only half way across it.

"Let's go green!" Mina cackled as once more Izuku's skull combusted into a raging infero and fire wrapped around his legs, small burst of flame propelling him ever so slightly forwards as he went. Mina however was already pulling ahead of him and catching up with Bakugo and Shoto just as Iida finally caught up with Izuku.

"Look out folks, it's loud and it's here to knock your socks off and make the students piss their pants, it's the mine field!" Present Mic shouted right as Todoroki and Bakugo stepped onto a mine, sending them both flying back into Mina and Iida with a burst of pink smoke.

"Nobody has ever pissed their pants during the non lethal mine section, stop lying." Aziawa droned with a sigh as he sent Present Mic a flat look of disapproval.

With little delay Shoto and Bakugo were back and rushing through the mine field leaving a dazed Mina and Iida trying to regain their bearings. Shoto huffed, freezing over the ground before him as he went to avoid setting off the mines while Bakugo merely detonated the ones Infront of him using his quirk.

"Ah jeeze." Izuku gulped as he skidded to a stop just before the mine fields, Charlie merely transformed into her demonic form and barreled through the field setting off landmines as she went.

"I swear eraser what are you teaching these kids?!" Present Mic screamed.

"I didn't teach them that." The man in question deadpanned back at the blonde hero.

"Unlike Charlie I can't just barrel through, I'd get knocked out in an instant." Izuku frowned as he stood before the mine field, unsure of how to proceed. Momo and Ibara soon joined him.

"I know!" Ibara grinned as he vines lifted her off the ground by several feet and she proceeded to carefully made her way across.

"Momo, do you have enough lipids to make a rubber mat?" Izuku asked with a grin.

"I do but what does that have to do with this?" Momo asked as several more students barreled on past them.

"We're gonna launch ourselves." Izuku grinned as he fired off a torrent of Greek fire just above the mines, the resulting air pressure created a wind tunnel which blew away enough sand to expose the mines themselves.

"This is the second most crazy thing I've done." Momo sighed as she lifted up her shirt enough to expose her stomach and made a thick rubber mat while Izuku started to pile up the mines at the edge of the field.

"You ready?" Izuku asked with a nervous smile.

"As I'll ever be."Momo gulped as they both grabbed ahold of the mat and belly-flopped onto the pile of mines.

"" Present Mic screamed using his quirk right as a massive pink explosion sent Momo and Izuku hurtling across the mine field and towards Bakugo and Shoto.

"At this point... everything." Aizawa sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose.

"" Bakugo screamed as Izuku and Momo came down right between him and Shoto, setting off a land mine and sending them all flying. Luckily for Izuku and Momo however they had been flung forwards and closer to the finish line unlike Bakugo and Shoto who got flung to the sides.

"Hold on!" Izuku screamed as they clutched to the almost completely destroyed mat as he created a burst of fire, barely landing them on the other side of the mine field.

"Let's go!" Momo laughed as they both proceeded to sprint on foot for the finish line where Midnight was waiting.

"And they're neck and neck folks! Class 1A's resident 3d printer and the barium nitrate bonfire are closing in on the finish line with the blonde bomber and the frostiest student in year 1 close behind them!" Midnight called in excitement.

Another loud explosion from behind saw the screaming form of Gura thrown through the air, her face covered in pink dust and her tail singed. "I'm not a bird!"

A loud crunch on Yelp of pain saw the poor girl collide into the crotch of Katsuki knocking him back into the ground as Gura continued to roll forwards, now sporting a blood nose and a sore ankle from her landing.

"That has got to hurt!" Present Mic winced in sympathy as Katsuki screamed in falsetto.

"He has no sympathy from me, he should of moved from his position already like Todoroki had." Aizawa droned as he pinched the bridge of his nose.

"It's a photo finish folks!" Midnight screamed with excitement as both Izuku and Momo crossed the line at the same time, Shoto a few seconds behind them.

After them was Ibara and Charlie then Gura, Setsuna and most of 1B. The final person to pass the finish line was a heavily panting Shinso who was drenched in sweat and half tangled in wires, a chunk of a 0 pointer still attached to it.

"Did he run that entire thing attached to it?" Mina asked in shock as she watched Shinso collapse to the side of the track while panting. "How did it even happen?"

"Good question, we're reviewing the tapes now." Midnight grinned back. "What's the verdict boys?"

"First place was Midoriya by half an inch." Aizawa droned, cutting of present Mic who had taken a deep breath to shout the answers. The blonde hero pouted, his fun ruined. "It also appears that Awase is disqualified for using his quirk on shinso, meaning Akashi has been bumped up into 40th place."

At these words on the big screen tv above the stadium the scene of Awase using his quirk to stick the cable to shinso was visible for all to see. In the monitoring room Nezu was cackling to himself as he thought up a new punishment for the black haired student.

"Damn I need to exorcise more." Akashi sighed as he slumped forwards.

"We'll be back after a 30 minute break folks, until then enjoy the amenities and snack bars!" Midnight called with a wave of her hand to the crowd. "For those who didn't place in the top 40 better luck next year but don't worry, we will still have plenty of activities for you to enjoy!"

Up in the stands Eri was literally jumping with joy as she shook a grinning Toga. "ONIICHAN WON! ONIICHAN WON!"

"Izu baby won!" Toga squealed back in joy.

"Ha! Your brat did good Inks." Mitsuki laughed.

"He certainly did his best, that's for sure." Inko chuckled as she noticed Beru rummaging through her own bag. "Loose something?"

"Just seeing if I have enough for a corndog kero." Beru admitted with a shrug.

"It's on me, from what I've seen your girl is a going to go far as a hero." Inko smiled politely as she fished her purse from her pocket. "Eri, Toga want anything dears?"

"Apples." Eri nodded seriously.

"Any Takoyaki or Senbei if they have some." Toga shrugged as she watched the students who got within the top 40 made their way over to the waiting area where several stretcher bots were handing out water and orange slices.

"I'll wait here with Eri and Toga, need to watch my figure after all." Mitsuki laughed softly as the two women headed off for the snack carts.

"Oniichan and chalie-san did good." Eri nodded to herself. "When I'm big, I will be strong like oniichan and charlie-san!"

"You got a long way to go kid." Mitsuki chuckled with an amused grin.

Soon enough the quick break had ended and Eri had gotten her apple to munch on, Beru had gotten a regular corndog on a stick and Inko had opted to grab herself a small mag of Senbei along with one for Toga. Luckily between rounds they hadn't been completely bored as the entertainment had been Present Mic playing various songs over the loud speakers until it was time for the next event.

Eventually the music faded out and Midnight stepped back upto the judge's platform where the wheel once more began to spin. The clicking sound like last time started off at a machine gun's pace before slowing to one click every second and eventually, it stopped, the labled it landed on lighting up with a bright red glow.

"The second event is... Paintball maze!" Midnight called as she whipped the ground besides her.

Overlooking everything Nezu frowned to himself, his finger on a red button labled "Robot Hell" amists several other buttons, multiple wires were poking out of the device since he hotwired it but it was serving its purpose well enough, atleast it half worked.

The crowds bellow in the stadium murmured amongst themselves at this new event, never in all of UA's history had such an event existed, the closest was the gauntlet which was just several dozen 3 pointer robots armed with paintball guns used in part of the relay races, marathons and occasionally in extreme tag, essentially the students in this would run laps and try to shut down or destroy the robots while not getting hit with paintballs.

"Now this is a new event organised By Principal Nezu and some of the parents of some students who go here!" Midnight called as she discreetly read from the pager wrapped around her wrist disguised as half of a handcuff. "In this students will have to survive a maze until only 20 remain. The maze itself will be filled with robots and other obstacles while a 'villain' will be stalking them, if you get hit, then you're out!"

There was a flash of red as a pentagram appeared in the middle of the track and a grey skinned woman with long curved horns in a white dress decorated with small skull pendants stepped out. Her violet eyes scanned the area before they fell on the students and she smirked.

"Oh jeeze." Charlie blushed in embarrassment as Lilith waved at her with a wink.

"Is that your mum?" Mei asked as she adjusted her goggles. "She's hot."

"And a matchmaker of insane proportions." Izuku shuddered, across from them in 1G's spot in the stands Vaggie shuddered aswell, despite not making the top 40 from the race she felt sorry for those who were about to face Lilith.

"Such theatrics." Inko sighed as she shook her head up in the stands. Toga awed at the woman bellow, a sparkle in her eyes as she admired her dress, crumbs of her snack dotting her cheeks. "Atleast it wasn't Blitz."

"Your doing Kero?" Beru asked, having noticed the fellow greenette's expression.

"Yes, they're a friend of mine actually and rather partial to theatrics." Inko admitted before pulling Eri into her lap. "You sit here dear, your knees might lock from standing so long."

"But I like how my feet hurt." Eri pouted.

"Of course dear." Inko tried to play it off, not wanting to cause suspicious from Beru. Mitsuki meanwhile just snorted in amusement.

"Kids." Mitsuki snorted a laugh. "My brat used to keep using his explosion quirk on his own legs when he got pissed at something."

"Huh, interesting shape Kero." Beru uttered as she gazed out upon the field.

[Elsewhere]

A teenager snarled to themselves as they punched the wall in anger as glared out at the students gathering around the arena. "Shit, how the fuck can I complete the mission now? The boss is gonna be pissed I couldn't get the bombs into the 2nd event."

[Back in the arena]

The gathered students gulped nervously as a massive maze started to rise up from the ground itself. Those from 1A were on the verge of having a mild panic attack however as the maze took an all too firmiliar shape around Lilith, her form quickly being obscured by the rising walls.

"Now, unlike a normal maze, thanks to help from Cementos and some cameras, this maze will be reconfiguring itself every 30 seconds until only 20 students remain!" Midnight called with a smirk before she licked her lips sensually and smirked at the students. "Such youthful enthusiasm is the only way you'll get out of this mess."
