Chapter 32: Heroic Names
"Hello my adorable heroes in training!" She cooed with a large smirk and slap of her whip across the ground which earned an annoyed grunt from Aizawa. "Today we're picking your hero names!"
"Woo!" Mina cheered with her hands raised.
"Heck yeah!" Toru called.
"QUIET!" Aizawa snapped from under his desk instantly stopping any noise.
"Anyway, I have here some chalk boards, write your hero names on them and then tell the class once you're called up." Midnight explained as she handed out a small pile of chalk boards and chalk to the first student in each row to pass back. "Now remember these names will likely be the ones you use for the rest of your career so think of an appropriate name that reflects the kind of hero you want to be."
The class was buzzing with excitement as everyone spent time coming up with what hero names they could use. Izuku was having an internal panic attack as he tried to mentally go over all of his notes trying to find the perfect name for him. Charlie merely smiled and wrote down a her name knowing full well what she wanted to go by ever since Izuku got her interested in the idea of heroics. Eventually the sound of chalk filled the air as students made what was hopefully their final choices for their names.
"First up, Yanagi-san." Midnight called as she stood by the chalkboard at the front.
Timidly the shy girl made her way to the front, hiding her face behind the chalk board as she did so before turning to face the class. "The ghostly hero Emily."
"Emily?" Midnight asked in confusion.
"After the urban legend sensei." The girl replied nervously.
"I see, it goes well with the ghost theme, good job." Midnight smiled as she gave the girl a thumbs up. "Up next, Uraraka!"
"The floating hero Uravity!" The bob cut girl grinned with an accompanying eye smile.
"Nice job." Midnight nodded. "Ashido."
"The acid hero Alien Queen!" The pink skinned cambion grinned widely.
"Nope!" Midnight instantly shot it down. "Disney would kill us."
"Aww..." Mina huffed as she shuffled back to her seat to think of another name.

"Sato." Midnight called.
"The sweets hero, Sugarman!" The muscular teen grinned as he flipped around his chalk board, opting to stand at his desk rather than move to the front.
"So sweet! It suits you for sure." Midnight nodded. "Hatsume."
The pink haired girl merely waved her off as she continued to fiddle with a small ball like device.
"!" Midnight snapped in anger. "PAY ATTENTION!"
"oh, uh just put me down for Tinker." Mei waved her off as she went back to working on her invention.
"Good grief." Midnight sighed before looking around the class again. "Magne, you're up."
Charlie grinned as she literally skipped up to the front of the class and turned her board around revealing a cute doodle of herself with rainbows next to the words; "The Redemption hero: Hazbin."
"Maybe tone down the cute a bit, I think it just gave me cavities." Midnight stated with a strained smile, indeed her tooth was starting to hurt. Most of the class was to put bluntly confused over Charlie calling herself a hazbin but given Midnight's reaction it was probably a personal reason to most of them.
"Will do." Charlie grinned as she skipped back to her seat.
"Todoroki." Midnight called.
"Shoto." The bi-colored teen replied bluntly.
"Uh...it's just your name though." Midnight blinked.
"I know." Shoto replied simply as he sat back down.
"" A persistent blonde shouted from the back. Everyone turned to look at him and blink.
"Bakugo why aren't you in general studies?" Midnight asked.
"FUCK YOU OLD HAG! I'M THE BEST HERO IN THIS DAMNED CLASS!" Bakugo snapped.
"HOW DARE YOU CALL ME A OLD HAG!" Midnight screamed in anger.
"Three for three." Mei sung smugly before tossing the round contraption into the air. It beeped twice before it flew right for Bakugo, slamming into his face and knocking him out.
Shinso grinned as he held up a score card reading 9.5, Mina held up one reading 10 and Toru held up another 10.
"Did you know he was there the entire time?" Izuku asked Mei with a worried expression as he checked over Bakugo with Iida.
"Since Ochako started glaring at him while sharpening her pencils into steaks." Mei shrugged drawing attention to the brown haired girl who had sharpened her pencils to a razor sharp point.
"Hatsume, Sato, could you get him to recovery girl please?" Midnight sighed in exasperation as she facepalmed, the pomeranian was persistent she'll give him that. "Iida san, you're up."
"Just, Iida for now." The black haired teen stated with a chopping motion. "I have yet to propperly research appropriate hero names for one of my skillset sensei."
"Sure is wordy." Mina snorted as she went back to the front of the class. "Pinky."
"Itll do." Midnight shrugged, mentally she had come up with several pun names for the girl but as a teacher she wasn't allowed to suggest them without getting a pay cut.

"Ill go next kero, been set on this name since I was a kid." Tsu stated as she made her way to the front before showing off her board which also had a small drawing of her in a rain coat splashing in a puddle. "The rainy season hero: Froppy."
"Excellent choice! It totally suits your cute style!" Midnight grinned at the green haired girl. "Tokoyami twins, you're up."
"Yayyeah!" Kira called as she held the board up for all to see much to her brother's annoyance.
"The jet black hero: Tsukuyomi." Fumikage stated as he crossed his arms.
"I'm getting shivers!" Midnight smirked making the siblings visibly cinge away from the teacher. "Up next Kyoka!"
"The hearing hero: Earphone Jack." Kyoka stated as her earjacks nervously clicked together.
"Its nice, really suits you." Momo smiled at her.
"T-thanks." Kyoka blushed before a gust of wind blew through the room and Sero and Sato got hit in the face by something they couldn't see.
"Flaring again." Mina hissed softly under her breath. With a shaking breath Kyoka tried to re-center herself and retract her wings but due to her embarrassment she was finding it difficult.
"Up next, Yaozoroza." Midnight read off of a clipboard. "Wait, that's the third year I teach. Why are they in first years?"
"My last name Yaoyoruzo, it may of been a simple filing mistake." Momo pointed as she made her way to the front of the class and presented her own board. "The armory hero: Creati."
"Nice and to the point." Midnight nodded before looking over the class. "Kendo-san?"
"The punching hero: Battle Fist." The ginger girl grinned widely as she held up her chalk board.
"Nice, right to the point, no beating around the bush." Midnight nodded, internally cackling at her own pun while the class groaned at it. "Sero."
"Huh?" The black haired teen asked, whipping his gaze away from Toru with a blush.
"Your hero name lover boy, perhaps i can give you lessons later on other matters." Midnight winked.
"No thanks, I don't swing your way." Sero deadpanned. "I'll just stick with the Taping Hero: Cellophane."
"No fun." Midnight pouted before starting to open her mouth only to get cut off by Mezo.
"The Tentacle Hero: Tentacole." The white haired teen spoke using one of the mouths on his dupliarms.
"Getting me riled up." Midnight kicked her lips.
"I need an adult." Mezo gulped.
"I am an adult." Midnight smirked back making Mezo shiver in fear.
"No sexually harassing the students." Aizawa snapped from under the desk as he glared at Midnight.
"Party pooper." Midnight pouted. "Hagakure?"
"The sneaky hero: Invisible Girl!" Toru called as she stood up and danced about, waving her board in the air much like a certain pirate did with a jar of dirt. Unfortunately given her anatomy and choice of wearing a skirt, things were visible against the fabric.
"Ah yes, the return of the why boner...WITH A !" Sero declared.
"To each their own." Mezo shrugged.
"Perv." Kyoka huffed.
"Damn they'd make a good couple." Charlie muttered to herself only to flinch when Momo poked her cheek.
"No shipping." The black haired girl deadpanned.
"Ahem." Midnight cleared her throat while absently wiping away a nosebleed. "Midoriya, you're lucky last."
Izuku nodded as he made his way to the front of the room. "I wanted to honour those who helped me along my way from my mum to my friends." He smiled as he turned over his board for the class to see. "The green hellfire hero: Dekuri."
"Alright you walking sexual harassment lawsuit get out." Aizawa growled at the 18 plus hero as he got up from under his desk as Izuku returned to his own. "Next session will be maths so bring your books with you over morning break. Dismissed." And with that the bell rang through the school as students rushed for the cafeteria where Lunch Rush was already pushing his quirk to its limits.
"Come on, I want to get there before the mochi runs out!" Ochako called as she lead the charge out of the classroom.
"Bloody brats." Aizawa sighed as he began his trip to the teacher's lounge for nap number 3 of the day.
Inside the cafeteria was packed with hundreds of students from all years enjoying their lunches, studying or socialising. At one table we find Izuku was with Charlie, Vaggie, Ibara, Momo, Tokoyami, Iida, Ochako and Kendo, all crammed together.
"Pork." Ibara drooled as she savegly tore into a pork chop like a wild dog.
"Damn she is hungry." Tokoyami blinked in shock.
"There are no words." Kendo stated in disgusted awe.
"Ibara-chan just likes pork." Izuku shrugged it off with a slight chuckle.
"This is the best food ever." Ochako sighed contently as she slouched back in her chair.
"Indeed." Momo agreed with a nod as she used a knife and fork to cut a crumbed chicken strip to eat.
"It make me miss my mum." Izuku replied with tears flowing freely as he tried to eat the Katsudon infront of him. "It feels like I'm betraying her memory or something."
"Hey chin up." Vaggie nudged his shoulder. "She's bound to be in a better place now." Vaggie stated gently.
"Yeah and she wouldn't want you to be all mister grouchy pants on us, cheer up and put a smile on that face!" Charlie grinned widely as she put an arm around his shoulder. "Infact, I feel a song co-"
"Bad charls." Vaggie interrupted as she kissed the blonde demon making her blush brightly. "No singing outside music or commercials."
" An automated announcement called as students began to panic.
End.

Flame Beneath The Snowfall
Alto is a world governed by Tones. Magic, as one might call it. Manifested through deep mental and physical conditioning, one can control the Tones in a way that is unique to them. The power to store items in gems, transfer life, affect a person's mind, and even the more primal abilities such as control of the elements. Those who have these supernatural abilities are called 'Vassals.' People that fully manifest their abilities are not as common as one might think, and not all Vassals acquire their ability through practice, given if conditions are met. In fact, those who had received much trauma manifest the Tones more frequently, albeit spontaneously. However, the rare kind of Vassals are those who manifest it from childhood. A gift, but not without its repercussions. Alto is stuck in a transitional era, where the line between modern and dated technology is blurred. One can travel to a city that has a tall skyline, bustling with people in sophisticated clothing, or a mere town governed by a lord, all the while riding on a powered vehicle. Cultures vary: Some turn to the more dated practices such as castes, others are more inclined to set equal footing on their people, led by nobility. Some are dedicated to become scholars, studying Alto's Tones, while others set foot on hunts, protecting lone towns from the creatures of some of the still-untamed lands. And the Vassals? Those willing are took under The Organization, an elusive group, its presence said to permeate all throughout Alto, taking care of Rogue Vassals that abuse their abilities and other businesses related to their side. But what is this story all about, you may ask? Well, set your sights on the upper portions of this huge landmass that is Alto. Yes, the 'whole' world is called Alto, but that is because the majority of the known people live on this large continent. Relieve yourself of the worrying tensions everywhere, and see the white snow. Trace the piercing mountaintops and focus your eyes between the valley. A town sits there. Mido. After realizing that the memories only left in his mind was the night of his town's imminent destruction in flames, a boy finds himself grasping for every fiber of his life as he lays down flat on the ground. Beneath him was soot mixed with the white snow. Fortunately, a group of investigators, who were supposed to answer their call for help, saved him from his sorry state. With a newfound second wind, but hampered by his loss of memory, he must solve his own case: Who had the audacity to set Mido, his town, aflame? Flame Beneath the Snowfall focuses on action, with a sense of adventure, but mostly the discovery of an outside world, and the protagonist's exposure to it. Add in a whisk of soft magical elements, and you get a story that I hope will be interesting to the readers. That is not to say that my work is without the sense of unnerving atmosphere, however. As a forewarning, there are elements of gore, horror, minor elements of mental trauma, etc. so it is not for all audiences. *The book is already completed. Although I have plans to continue the story (it would have to involve much larger scope in terms of world-building), I have yet to decide when to start the next entry.
