Elizabeth wake up.” Brian whispered. I felt him nudge me softly. His warm body embraced mine as if It were a glove. I snuggled closer to him placing my hand over his beating heart. Without looking, I knew he was smiling. My body tingled with a small fire as my powers began to war with my vampire blood. Dammit, I knew this would happen; soon Charles would not be the only one after me. He will find me also. “I'm sorry, I guess the shock was a little too much.” I whispered.
My voice was hoarse from fainting. I looked into Brian's kind eyes as he stroked my cheek. Elizabeth, what the hell are you doing? Charles whispered in my head. Are you trying to start up the witches? I continued to stare at Brian ignoring Charles' rambling. I knew what I was doing; it was worth it to stop his war with the wolves. I will not be ignored Elizabeth! He roared.
I sat up with fright. That roar was not only heard in my head, it was outside the castle. I couldn't pin point the exact location, but I knew it wasn't far. “How did he know to get here?” Charity growled. “I don't know and I really don't care. Grab the books.” Lance yelled.
Charity grabbed the books. “Be careful!” I yelled. Before I could stand, Brian had me in his arms running through the halls. “I can smell vampires all over the place.” He growled. “Vampires use to live here, Brian.” Lance retorted. Brian glared at him his eyes switching between his normal brown to black.“ Not that dead scent, smart ass.” “He is right.” Charity said running in front. Lance was behind him his back tensing for a fight. I closed my eyes sensing the vampires.
We were hugely out numbered. We stopped at the stairs looking out the windows. There they were standing ominously around the castle gates. “This is gonna be one hell of a fight.” Charity said. I watched as he took his jacket off folding it carefully before placing it on the ground. Lance smiled ruefully, as always my son was a soldier. Brian's arms tensed around me. I pushed myself from his grasp, standing up slowly. Brian grabbed my hand to steady me as we began down the stairs. “Alright everyone meet back at the Mansion.” Charity commanded. I nodded opening the door to the castle.
The darkness was immediately upon us, as the moon hid behind the clouds. The army stood against the gates, their eyes glowed with anticipation. A hiss escaped my lips, I moved. I made it almost impossible to see even further in the darkness as I drew up dirt as I flew forward. I took out twenty of the guards in an instant chopping through bodies as if they were meat.

My feet sank into the ground as I whirled to face the army. Recognition flashed through their faces as they recognized me. I growled letting them know I was a threat. I took a step forward marveling in the sound of carnage around me.My blood stirred once more in me as my inner vampiress fought with my witch blood. The vampires stood down, kneeling in front of me with their hands placed over their hearts. I resigned as I glanced around the gates.
I could see Brian's massive frame standing next to a pile of bodies. He flexed his large tan muscles. His hair beaded with sweat dipping down his perfectly sculpted chest. In the darkness his chain glowed with a dog tag. His left arm was covered in his clans alpha tattoo. He met my gaze smiling awkwardly as he strolled over to me.
I looked away blushing madly. I gasped feeling blood rush to my cheeks warming them. What the hell? Charity and Lance stood both boys dirty from wrestling and fighting. " Elizabeth!" Brian yelled. I glanced up at him only managing to catch his blurred face as I was suddenly pulled backward. My back hit what felt like brick, but I knew better. His arms enfolded me like chains restricting my movements to as where my feet dangled just above ground.
"These clothes suit you, my Elizabeth." Charles' voice whispered low in my ear."it makes you look more delectable." "Let her go!" Brian growled. Charles glared at him." My mate does not concern you, wolf. Come Elizabeth." "No." I screamed. I struggled against his hold desperately. "Let her go." Lance said stepping forward. Charles' hold on me tightened as his nose ran the length of my neck."ah my traitor son, I am only taking away the liar, "
"Save it dad, we know who you are." Charles lips stretched into a smile. "I see. Lets go Elizabeth. We will see how a fallen king, a truant king, and a mutt can take me on." We moved.i blinked as I landed on the bed. I sat up hurriedly glancing around the room. Charles was gone thankfully. I stood flitting to the door. My hands gripped the knob. I growled when I felt it was locked. "Open this door!" I screamed. I banged harder making dents. That son of a bitch bought an anti vampire door!
" Your highness stop, you will hurt yourself." "No." I screamed he could not lock me in here! He could not just take my freedom away, I let out another loud shriek it vibrated the windows of the room. I clawed at the door in rage, howling every chance i had. Hours later i collapsed onto the clean white sheets of the bed. My body was heavy with the need to sleep, either it was sunrise or my inner vampire was fading.

"Mmmmm." I moaned. My body burned as hands moved up and down my sides. I shivered with pleasure a gasp escaped my lips. Slowly my eyes opened adjusting to the ceiling above. I glanced downward seeing the ivory skin of Charles' bare back. "What the-" Charles cut me off. He pulled his head pulling back from my neck. His plump red lips smiled at me with venom.
"Hello, my love." He whispered kissing my jaw. His body was over mine, his hands wrapped around my waist . "Get off me!" I growled pushing his shoulders. "No." He said. I watched as his blue eyes turned to midnight. "You let another man lay with you." He said through his teeth. "I can smell it from your skin, i could feel it when you laid with him." His fangs were bared as his face twisted with jealousy.
"Do you realize this is a replica of our room on the east wing of the castle? the west wing is under construction from my rage." I struggled hitting his shoulders with everything i had. He growled, his hands taking my wrists and pushing them to the bed. His muscled body towered over mine letting me see every magnificent curve of his abs. His onyx hair hung low enough that it brushed my face. "Why are you struggling? do you not feel the love i have for you. I swear if you did, you would not go looking for anoth-"
"Stop it! just stop it! You know i am of mixed blood. I can never feel the way you do for me! I used you to be near Esmerelda. I wanted to be queen so badly I-" His growl echoed through the room. He bared his fangs at me though the rage didn't meet his eyes. "You. Are.My.Mate." "In a vampires way, but i am not fully a vampire. I can't love you the way you need to be loved. Is that why you hypnotized me?" I stared at him. Did he use me to get to Esmerelda as well? Or was he only after the crown?
No, he was adopted into the family the crown still would have been his if he killed the king. However, a vampire would not be able to get through security as easily as a...Witch. “Your right, I used you just as you did me. Only I still felt the bond to you as my mate. I manipulated you so that I could get more of your inner witch out. I did it so that we could be together as king and queen. I wanted to fulfill your wish. I love you.” “Please stop.” “I won't. You must feel it!” He bit me. I cried out in pain only earning his hand over my mouth muffling my scream.

“Shit.Shit.Shit. We have to find her. We have to find her.” Brian paced back and forth through the mansion shaking his head at every step. He had been a nervous wreck ever since my mother disappeared hours ago.
“Calm down, he won't hurt her.” I whispered flipping through the book. “How do you know that?” “If he hasn't hurt her in the centuries they have been together why start now?” “This book writes itself.” Charity said laying the Vampire History book on the table. I watched awe struck as beautiful crimson letters began to form on the page in perfect calligraphy.
“The king prepares army for battle with the Lycans. The words stop here. What have you found out?” I flipped to the front page once more. “It tells the entire background history on the Hartford's and my father’s family. The families destroyed each other, their children able to escape the aftermath. Esmerelda hid with Ahrens’s family seeing as they were friends with the Hartford’s. My father on the other hand was abandoned until Queen Mary and King James took fancy to him and was adopted into the family.” “What does it say about your mother?” Brian asked. “It….is not good. This book is a tell all. We need to find her and fast.” “We need to defeat Charles first.” “Yes and fast.”
