Sorry for the shortness work!prom! All that jazz

We stood before a large medieval castle. The stonewalls were

covered with thick green vines that crept up to the roof. The old grey walls

that surrounded the entrance were beginning to crack from old age. I stared at

the old crimson colored roof that adorned the castle towers. Stain glass windows

were a jaded yellow and blue caked with age-old dust. The trees surrounded the

castle barely letting in the light of the moon. "The scent of decay is still

strong here." My mother whispered almost to herself. She strode forward

breaking through the covers of the trees, Brian right on her heels. He towered

over my mother's slim frame easily, his black hair shining silver in the moon

light. Charity and I walked behind them both. "My sister, have you gotten over

her?" "What makes you say that?"I whispered. "Last month you were a complete

wreck, this month it's like she never died." I clenched my teeth before looking

at him. "Are you implying that I am over her? I am just trying..." I made my

voice crack "To cope with it. I promised I would see this through to the end,

and I will." "What are you going to do later, after all of this?" "I am not

sure."I whispered. "I will follow her in death." "Your mother and your ex

subjects would not like that." "It is

not for them to decide." "Death is not something that should be discussed

here." My mother whispered. I watched her hand tighten around Brian's shirt.

"Do you not smell it? The decay, the dust of vampire remains. The scent is

almost maddening, yet you continue to ignore it as if it is not there."

"Elizabeth, please-" "They speak as if they do not comprehend what is going on.

Quickly enter the gate while the moon is high." We came upon a large wrought

iron gate. Even in age the gate was

looming and threatening it towered over us by many feet. My mother went first

jumping over the gate with ease, Brian followed. My feet hit the ground with an

audible thud. "Careful." She whispered. She stood deathly still her hair

blowing fiercely in the wind. Her skin glowed an ominous white as the wind

began to pick up around us. Leaves whipped wildly through the air as sand began

to blow in all directions. "What the hell?" Charity whispered. I squinted

seeing glowing red eyes appear in the sands.

A low growl shook the ground. "So it's still here." My mother whispered.

I stared at her mystified was this woman truly my mother. The woman that was the

image of pure royalty, I had to question her for a moment. She stood her legs

firmly apart with her hands on her hips. I watched her eyes glow a lovely

crimson. The strength that radiated from her was impossible to doubt. I had

never seen this woman before. "Elizabeth where is Esmerelda?" The creature

growled its large red eyes blinking. "Esmerelda

is dead." A loud agonizing roar echoed

through the castle. The sound was a loud ear spitting noise. "Who did this!" It growled. "I did." My

mother admitted. "Treason, how dare you kill royalty! Little girl you have no

idea what you have done!" "The damage is done Armaretti! I know what I have

done it has been centuries since Esmerelda and I have walked this place. Give

me entrance!" "No!" The thing boomed. " I will die before I willingly let you

in traitor!" "So be it Armaretti." I put

my hand on my mother's shoulder, her eyes never swayed from the large eyes in

front of her. "Let us handle this." She snorted through her nose I looked at

her in shock. Could she handle this? I hadn't seen her lift anything heavier

than a plate. "I will handle this; it

has been a long time since I have fought." "It's a Balaur." Brian growled. I

glanced at the thing once more its eyes had risen well above our heads. I could

see twelve starting to appear out of the dust. Its body was like a dragon with

small fins and feet. "Son of a bitch, I thought they were-" Charity started. "They

are very much alive; Magic was band here under Edward' rule. That didn't mean

others didn't practice it secretly." "Little hybrid." The monster growled. Its

body stretched over the yard as it finally appeared. Its skin was scaly and

sickening, its eyes glowed a treacherous yellow. It moved. It moved almost too

fast to be caught by even vampire eyes. It moved in front of my mother she dodged

smoothly her eyes glowed a deep violet.

What was going on here! She stared at the beast her fangs bared. "Funny

how things have turned." She whispered. She jumped higher than I had ever seen

her she was in front of the beast as it swung its huge tail wildly. Rocks flew up

as they dodged and attacked each other. I sent my fist through a large rock as

it came towards me.

Elizabeth P.o.v

I whispered an old incantation as I struck the beast with my

nails. I could feel its hard skin cracking under my fingertips. Its gooey blood sticking to my fingers. I could feel my blood stirring with in me, as

my sealed powers were finally breaking loose. It had been a while since I had

fought and gosh, it felt great. My skin hummed with power as I charged

Armaretti. He would not let me in without a fight; I would have wished it would

be easier to get in. My fang pricked my lips. This would not be easy with

vampire blood weighing me down. "Elizabeth." Armaretti growled in pain. Its

twelve heads winced in pain as I was about to deliever the last blow. "Taste

the dust from which you came. I cast thee into eternal flame!" I growled .Lunging

downward straight into the main head of the Balaur. Its eyes glance at me once

more before its entire body was engulfed by blue flames; Its deafening roar

shook through the castle. "Traitor." He whispered once more before his body

went up in smoke. I fell downward head first. I welcome the pain that landing

on my head would bring. I could already foretell that the rest of my existence

would be covered in bloodshed. There were things that my son and the entire

vampire kingdom should not know about the royal family. How their past riddled

with lies, deceit, and bloodshed. I landed on my feet turning right side up at

the last second. Secrets lie within the castle walls and I knew from more than

a hunch it would lead straight to Charles.
