The light of the morning hurt more so than I imagined.as I stepped out into the blazing sun. The intensity of it made me shrink into Gabriel's muscular arm. Darkness blurred my vision as a large hood was thrown on my head while arms helped me into the drowning coat that smelled like dog. Kim smiled handing me a pair of shades. Apparently after I practically lowered myself to her she was all peaches and creme. Was she seriously Eric's mate? A hand slipped around mine, it was larger than mine and full of heat.
I looked up at Gabriel, his expressionless face was directed toward a large black vehicle." Let's go" he growled as his eyes lighten to a honey shade. "Yes alpha" I heard all of them say. Gabriel was alpha? He opened the door for the back seat letting me glide in. The leather interior felt cool against my butt. Kim slid in next to me Kyo followed. Gabriel took the driver seat as Kyle took the passenger seat." Where are we going?"I asked.
" Eric wanted you to go to his house." I stared at him incredulously the back up plan had many steps. Was this really the back up if he died? This was way to structured to have been on a whim. Eric would have told the wolves to leave me once at the boarder. No, something was up with this plan. I decided not to voice it. My mood shifted slowly as I tried to draw in power. Enough power to escape if I needed to without blood.
" My house is grand you will love it." She whispered."my children are out with grandparents" I couldn't help the shiver that went down my spine. Eric had children, children who would never see their father again. Guilt hit me like a wave. "Have they heard?" I asked. She looked at me before shaking her head. "I will apologize to them as well" "No its fine" she started.

I cut her off "Surely i must" The windows of the van were tinted darkly mostly to help my disposition. "You are the Alpha? Gabriel" He glanced at me from the small mirror in the center. His light brown eyes met mine with a glimmer of authority. "Yes, Gabriel was my beta" My fingers were locked in my lap. This was definitely a trap. He had set me up with many people that he knew. People that would blame me for his death. I would have to be on my guard against these people against the entire vampire race. No doubt Lance was already rallying the troops putting a large bounty on my head.
I knew the price would be impossibly high giving that he was the king. Though here in America he would have less than fifty percent of them on his side. These vampires were less dependant to the throne. "We will protect you, because of your relationship to my beta. Now that he is gone we do not have to play by the rules" I looked at him hard through the mirror. What was he implying? Was he going to ship me off to the first vampire here and tell them of the bounty?
"Please, we have no need for the money on your head. Why would we go through the trouble of saving you just to return you? please princes you have little trust" "So what are you planning if you are not going to play by the rules?" The car went dark letting the light of different shapes glow and eerie green. The sound of tires against gravel grated on my ears, i was more than grateful when the road smoothed. He smiled his lips curling over his teeth. "Have a little fun since you seem so sheltered. That and help you find the person you are here for." I stared at them individually trying to see if he was lying. Though most of them even kyle looked at their alpha with confusion.

"Why are we going to do that?" Kyle asked. "Because i am Alpha" he said. The car shot out from the tunnel and light began to seep into the darkened car. What the hell was wrong with this wolf? The Alpha for that matter. I had come here more than capable of taking care of myself if they ditched me. "Why should i trust you?" "Because we saved you" "For a favor you owe your former Beta" "Maybe i am curious about you?" he snickered though his eyes never wavered from mine. "Spare me the humor of this situation. What do you have to gain other than sneaking a peek into my affairs" That was it my affairs. Eric had told him my plan, and the reemergence of the pure blooded royals. I glowered at him in the mirror. Silence passed through the car as Gabriel and I, stared each other down. "Let me out of the car, now!" I commanded. The slowed to a stop.

Voidsong (A NaNoWriMo 2018 winner)
Synopsys: The Empire thought humanity died, and forgot all about it. The Empire is mistaken. A Note From the Author: This story was written as a National Novel Writing Month 2018 entrant. As such, its entire 50,000+ word length was written between November 1, 2018 and November 31, 2018. Overall, I would consider this no more than a polished draft. In that vein, the chapters have no names, only numbers. Special thanks to Chronus on youtube for answering my questions on NATO radio procedures! My Apologies to the Finnish Language, which I have abused in (probably) unforgivable ways to create Twisted Empire names. If anyone is interested, break the names up by commas and toss them into your favorite translation program (I used Google Translate, and tried to avoid umlauts and other accents) for some semi bilingual boni. If I got something wrong (and I know I did… somewhere…) let me know over on reddit and I will see what I can do to fix the mistake. Lyrics, where included, are cited in footnotes.

Our main character (a cat) adventures with his friends and encounters many situations.Author's Note:Hello. This is my first story. Though I hesitate to call it such. It is supposed to be relatively relaxed for the most part. Any constructive criticism is welcome. My updates will be slower than a snail and my chapters are relatively short so deal with it please and don't murder me. Romance should come in later. Thank you~
