『maybe someday we can be two people meeting for the first time.』

It was a strange new feeling that plagued the house. Ever since father had whisked Izuku away the day they met the hero. It had felt like torture not being able to see him. Father wouldn't tell them what was wrong. The two were left to their thoughts, which darkened by the day.

Then father in all his mercy allowed the two siblings to see Izuku. But it wasn't right there seems to be some kind of life lost. The house still felt empty. What's worse is that Izuku himself looks dead. Lying on a futon in a dark room. Unmoving. Pale. And with a face that was fare to accepting.

It took the two a long time to be able to convince themselves that Izuku was in fact breathing. Eri had several panic attacks and got incredibly dehydrated for the first day or two. And tomura found it hard to leave the boys side.

Then father decided to move Izuku from the dark prison feeling room, back to the shared bedroom. This allowed both siblings to be near Izuku at all time. It was a relief to see him in different light. He almost looked alive.

Their father said it was a great bonding experience, and it showed how much the siblings loved each other. Eri said it was scary, that she felt izuku's cold hands in her own tiny hands and prayed he'd live through the night. Tomura shuffled uncomfortably, placing a hand to the boys chest to check it still rises and fell, he noted how this wasn't his idea of family bonding.

Izuku kept this family together, he was what everyone depended on. He was what they needed, wether all for one knew it or not, he needed Izuku much more that Izuku ever needed him.

The two siblings had grown or regrown attached to Izuku now that father had freed him. Constantly keeping an eye on him. They searched for a sign that he'd wake up. Any thing from a twitch to a wince.

Eri was always next to him. She drew things for him and talked to him. She knew he'd wake up soon, father said he'd wake up soon, but soon wasn't coming fast enough her. She was scared and alone. Eri just wanted her big brother back. Wanted his wisdom and smiles. His hugs and his food. She'd take anything if it ment he'd wake up.

There were times when the siblings had to let Izuku free. Like when father had to take him to the doctors to get a drip. Or when father took him to get showered and cleaned. But he always came back. Father always brought him back.

Izukus body was laid down on the futon in the shared bedroom after one of said doctor appointments. He was like one of Eri's dolls. No limb control as he was lowered from fathers arms. He just stayed in any position until he was moved again.

He didn't look comfortable but he didn't look uncomfortable either. His face showed no change. Tho Eri would argue that his face was gaining more colour. And that his freckles were less noticeable. A sign he wasn't as pale. It was as if he was napping. His father sat patiently on the next futon across reading a book while Eri was sitting colouring on Izukus other side. She kept looking up periodically but never said anything. Their father had noticed this action but was waiting for the girl to make the first move. Eventually she had finished her drawing and placed her crayons down.

"Father? When will Izuku wake up? He's been asleep for a long time and I miss him." Eri says quietly finally looking up to the man. The father smiles sweetly running a hand through the white curls of the boy. They were just as soft and springy as he remembers. He made them a perfect recreation. In fact his son although being the original, was more of a recreation. With all the experiments and living tests done on him his personalities had split.

Luckily he'd caught the signs and dealt with the unwanted whispering voice in his precious dolls ear. The only one allowed in his darling treasure's mind was him. He was the only one allowed to sway him. The only one allowed to convince him. The only one allowed to show him memories.

"Don't worry, my darling Izuku will awake soon. It does seem to be taking longer than expected, but he will wake. Is there a reason you need him?" Their father asks breaking his eye contact with the sleeping boy.

Eri nods quickly hugging a piece of paper close to her chest. Father nods, laughing softly. "I see. You can give it to him soon. I'm sure he'll love it." Eri nods and looks down at her brother without replying. He'll love it. She knows that, he loves anything she creates especially if it's for him. But he can only love it if he wakes up. And he seems to not want to do that. Eri can only think he's having a great dream that he just can't bare to leave.

Father is about to speak to the girl again when there is a knock at the door. "Enter kurogiri." The man says, knowing immediately who is there.

Kurogiri steps into the room and bows slightly. "Master it appears Dabi has emerged at the bar down town." He pauses lifting his body. "But I'm afraid he's not alone. Is there action you would like me to take?" He asks voice low but clear.

The children's father sighs looking longingly at his son. "So he shows again. And you said with guests?" The man asks. "Yes master, he has brought company, they seem to be in a destructive mood. They also demand you pay for miss himiko's departure."

The man nods sadly. "So be it. Kurogiri take me their and wait with me while we see what he's after." The man rises to his feet. "Oh and tell tomura to join us. He'll be useful." He says dismissing his right hand.

The father walks toward the girl and places a hand on her head. "Eri you'll be good and look after your brother won't you?" His voice is laced with command but holds a kind tone. The girl shivers under the pressure but nods her head. "I will. I'll make sure brother wakes up." She says determined.

"That's my good girl." The older man says exiting the room. The door shuts with a familiar click indicating their father had locked the bedroom door.

Eri finds herself crawling closer to Izuku for comfort. The room feels eerily quiet yet the girl feels there are pairs of eyes gazing at her. The children especially Eri and Izuku had become dependent on their fathers protection and strength. They had been raised to believe they are weak and defenceless, and that all they could do was stick together and leach off of the powerful.

Luckily for them, their farther was plenty powerful so they had little to worry about. He provided them with a safe place to sleep. Gifts and food. Love and company, as well as anything they could possibly ask for. Their life was perfect. They were the most fortunate people ever to live. At least that's what they knew. Neither of them had ever left much. In fact Eri could count on one hand the amount of times she had left the safety of their house.

As she was thinking Izuku made a noise still deep in his regeneration, but it made hope bubble in eris chest so she snuggled up closer. "Mmmmn hay brother, when I'm sad you tell me stories, that makes me better. A-and you seem sad, father said that's why you haven't woken up yet, I drew you a picture too. So you need to wake up soon. If you're sad I'll tell you this story I know."

There was a noise from somewhere in the house that had the girl taking in a sharp breath. "I'm scared brother." She whispers to her sleeping brother. The girl felt incredibly venerable. Just like Izuku she had a crushing fear of abandonment that stemmed from a time she still couldn't remember. Her father told her that mother had left her when she was small and that she needn't worry about anyone leaving as they all loved her too much.

"I know you'd never leave me brother. So I will tell you about my dream." She says.

Unknown to her a man stays quietly behind the bedroom door. He could hear the girls voice perfectly and was waiting.

"Umm it was the day you took me out of the house." She starts. "We went on a walk to find heroes. You were telling me about them and their cool quirks. Even though you use big words I still enjoy listening to you.

You also took me to the shop and I ate a pastry I'd never seen before. It was so yummy that I wish I could eat one every day. And I thought it was funny how the lady miss saw your face for someone else. She screamed really loud! So we got free food.

Then we walked back and that's when the strange dream happened." She shuffles about. "I can't remember falling asleep, but It started with father telling me not to worry, he said he'd fix my head and make me forget so I could stay happy. Then I saw your face again. We were at a shop it was really big and had a lot of food in it but no tables to sit at. You said we needed the food so you could cook it. Oh! There was a hero! He looked scary and mean but I know he was your friend. He had red eyes and an angry face.

He reminded me of the Kacchan you talk about when you're sleeping. You mumble a lot so I miss some of it. You tell me things about him. How he has red eyes. And how his blond hair is spiked. You said he shouldn't frown or he'd get wrinkles."

The girl giggles at her self. "You talk a lot when you sleep, that's why I'm scared. Father says you're sleeping but you're not talking. It makes me worried that your not sleeping but that you're leaving me.

I know father said you love me. And I know you love me. But somehow when I sleep I can hear people that I don't know. Sometimes they're really mean to me and they hurt me. And other times they just leave me without saying anything. No matter what I can never get them to stay.

But then I wake up and I see you holding me and I smile because I know I'm safe." The girl wraps her arms around Izuku. "So this time I'll hold you okay? I'll make sure when you wake up you can smile." She says wrapping small arms around the boy.

"I hope your dream friends are playing with you. You said once they send you to the dark. I know that can be scary so I'm here for you brother. And I try really hard to make my own friends but father says that imaginary friends are bad because they make you naughty. He said that your imaginary friend try to take you away. That he feeds you false memories and that no matter how hard he tries they just won't go away.

I feel stuck because I want you to not be scared when you sleep. And you always seem so happy when you're awake. I want you to have friends too. But I don't want them to take you away. Or if they did can you take me with you?" Eri yaws watching the lights around her dim and her nightlight flicker to life.

"It's time to sleep now big brother. Father says I'm in charge of you so I'll give you your goodnight kiss. And don't worry I'll stay by your side until we can wake up." The little girl nudges Izukus cheek and plants a small kiss there before snuggling down. Eri makes sure the covers are over them both and closes her eyes.

She clings onto her brother for warmth and rests her head so she can hear his heart beat. It helps clear her mind of the bad things like her brother leaving. She hopes he'll never leave her no matter what. Izuku promised her he will always protect her.
