『If I cut you off chances are you passed me the scissors』
As predicted a short while after the phone call, the door slams open around. It's only been ten minutes or so. Izuku knows the man can't work a mer ten minutes away so he definitely pulled some pro hero strings.
It's quite a sight, a manic Aizawa runs in, frantically shaking his head scanning the room. Izuku can hear that there's muffled shouts before running. He can hear footsteps getting louder the closer they come.
"Zuku? DEKU!" It's loud and gets calls out a few times. The white haired boy can hear the commotion from his room and debates whether he should get out of bed or not. As he's deciding it sounds like the stranger tries to calm Aizawa down as much as possible, but with a potential missing child on Aizawa mind that's hard to do. Very hard to do.
Izuku tries to listen in as best he can. Curious to the new person and their relation to Aizawa.
Back with the two men yamada tries and fails to calm the frustrated man down.
"Hay calm down shota im sure he'll be back for dinner cats like to wonder off sometimes. You know explore and stuff. He'll turn up I'm sure."
There's a beat of silence before Aizawa looses his shit. He grabs the mans collar and barks out a forced laugh. Tired and manic eyes start looking the loud mans newly petrified eye. It's been a while since Aizawa lost it, sadly not long enough for the blond.
"A cat? Cats like to- CATS LIKE TO WHAT! Mic we aren't even talking about a cat. This is a boy here not a cat. You have lost an actual child! Might I add that he is an extremely injured kid at that!"
The sleep deprived man almost screams but holds it back to the best of his abilities. He loosened his grip on the man slowly letting his hands fall completely. He breathes heavily before taking some slower breaths. The two stay in silence letting it all sink in.

The usually loud blond quiets down completely and starts letting the information properly process. The more it sinks in the more his face pales. His eyes widen and his eyebrows raise higher and higher on his face. It's like they could fly off. The silence is shortly broken by his voice escalating to a lound high pitch shriek.
"He shouts at the tired man who upon hearing this snapped his head up to face the blond again. "A cat? Why would he be a cat. I said kid! As in oh I don't know a kid!" He argues back pinching the bridge of his nose and closing is eyes.
The blond suddenly realised. Aizawa gives a nod before covering his ears. "The banana haired male continues to become more panicked flitting around and searching for a child while muttering up a storm.
"Yamada shut up!" Aizawa says calming down slightly. "We will get no where panicking. I'm going to check his room did you look there before calling me?" He says starting to get ticked off at the thought of yamada jumping to conclusions.
The blond splutters before nodding, answering and explaining how he was looking for a cat for over an hour. And how he searched everywhere for said cat. Aizawa ignored him walking briskly down the hall towards the spare room Izuku calls his own. He can only pray the kid is safe and in bed. He doesn't know what he'll do if he's not. He pauses calming his nerves and knocking at the door.
"Zuku are you here?" He says opening the door. "Hi Aizawa, you're back early is everything okay?" Izuku questions sleepily. The man let's out a heavy sigh and shakes his head. The white haired boy watches him relax and tilts his head. Aizawa sits on the end of the bed cupping his head. Izuku smiles slightly and tries sitting up.
"I'm fine now problem child." Aizawa smiles turning to the boy. Izuku smiles kindly at him before his face turns serious. "Oh but there was a loud man who was running around the house for a cat. Do-do you know him?" He says looking towards the door.

Aizawa chuckled darkly before motioning to the door. "This is hizashi yamada. He is very loud I know. I told him to be quiet but he's so loud he can't hear anything. He's also incredibly stupid and apparently he's blind aswell." He says gritting his teeth slightly. Yamada lets out a quiet chuckle from his hiding place. It's the only indication that there's another person here.
"Get out here you chicken." Aizawa says to the door way. The embarrassed blond comes out from hiding rubbing his neck. "Ah yeah sorry little guy I thought you were a cat!" He exclaimed only just focusing on Izuku. "Ah shota your kid really is sick!" He exclaimed jumping back a bit. "He's so pale and ghost like." Izuku shudders at the comparison. Aizawa noticed before shaking it off and rolling his eyes.
"Thank you hizashi I didn't notice." Aizawa says sarcastically, then turning to the boy in bed adding on quietly, "Please excuse his rudeness zuku it's nothing personal. He has problems with his filter."
Shota ruffles the mop of white hair causing Izuku to laugh brightly before wincing just a little. "It's okay it's nice to meet you yamada sir! I'm zuku." He says before starting a coughing fit. "Zawa you touched my head again." Izuku says wiping at his mouth. "Yeah, oh deku- god that's blood again." The hero says furrowing his eyebrows. "Don't worry. But I like the head pats." Izuku smiles, coughing again.
Aizawa rubs his back trying to sooth the pain the kid must feel. After a bit Izuku stops and wipes his mouth again, thanking Aizawa. He turns back to the blond. "Sorry!" Izuku apologised bowing his head. "It's really nice to meet one of Aizawa's friends!" The boy gives a closed eye smile warming both men's hearts.
The blond jumps right back in awing at the cuteness. "Ahhh shota can we keep him! Hay midnight will love you so much. You're too cute. I hope you get better soon. How do you feel?" He starts asking a question per second. Izuku tries to listen but he soon gets muddled and confused. His face shows complete and utter lostness.
Aizawa hits yamada around the back of the head before turning back to the young boy. "Don't mind him like I said filter." He says waving a hand over his mouth. Hizashi pouts trying to win Aizawa over. "That won't be necessary zashi I have already decided to keep him." Aizawa said not paying the man next to him any attention.
Said man gasped happily bouncing around cheering. "Yatta! Yatta! Yay a new addition to our crazy little family! And he's not a cat!! This is a huge improvement shota." Izuku smiles too clapping gently.
He can't help but savour this moment. It's so pure and happy it fills him with warmth. It makes him feel better even though he's physically very sick. But that could be because he's a dead boy. Or supposed to be anyway.
It's something that Izuku might never find out. Why he's like this. He knows time will only tell him. He can't help but be drawn to the negative feeling that something bad is happening. It's a strange gut feeling that make his body shudder and flicker. It's so very faint and hard to see but it happens.
He feels his body tug towards the window yet he doesn't move to act on it. He can hear voices but none he recognised. He sensed things that he couldn't describe. His mind seemed confused and split between too locations getting them muddled and lost in translation.
He tried to ignore it and focus on where he is now but it's almost too much for him to bare. Then as soon as it started it stoped. All the foreign feelings and sounds disappeared as if it were all an illusion. And he could soon concentrate on the happy seen playing out in front of him.

Yin-Yang
Mages in North America seem to have it all – typically from well-off families, and able to manipulate their environment in ways most of the world would never believe. They don’t even have to bother with the mundane details of life like housework, thanks to their sensitives, who also make a useful source for extra magical energy. After all, sensitives have no use for it themselves, and if mages weren’t meant to make use of it, then the sensitives would obviously have some way to prevent that. That a mage can transform a sensitive physically, with no restrictions beyond overall mass and basic biological viability, whereas magic tends not to work directly on any other living thing, is only further proof. And look at the way they live on their own, barely a step above animals. It’s better for them to belong to a mage. Sensitives in North America live on the edge of society and survival – typically so paranoid they avoid hospitals and anything else that could lead to being tracked, many of them with little or no education and no legal identity or existence. Mages exist, and mages want sensitives for some reason, but no one ever comes back to explain what that reason is. Waiting every day for the hunters to notice them doesn’t lead to much motivation or hope for the future. And once they’re captured, they’re the property of someone with a terrifying amount of power over them. Anything is better than capture. Mages are born to be the masters, and sensitives are born victims. Or are they? Jax’s life is turned upside-down when he’s caught by the hunters and sold to a mage. Andreas is still mourning for his previous sensitive, though, unconsciously creating a difficult standard for Jax to live up to, all the more so while still struggling to come to terms with this new reality as Andreas’ sensitive. A runaway sensitive isn’t what Van expects at the mental health centre. Is this a hunter trap, set for him and the rest of the Donovan family by the hunters? The hunters would, after all, love to see them cross the line openly and finally do something they can be charged with. Either way, Miranda’s genuinely in trouble, and he can’t just abandon her to it. Snatching a sensitive out from under the hunters and hiding her is odd behaviour for a mage – but then, Catherine is an odd mage, living in disgrace in the old servants’ quarters of her grandmother’s house, responsible for cooking and housework. Lila owes Catherine her freedom; is there a way to help Catherine achieve her own, and at what price? Tension is building between traditionally-minded mages and those advocating change, and something has to break. *** Yin-Yang includes a small amount of profanity and no graphic sex or on-screen physical violence. However, sex and gender roles and relationships within the mage/sensitive subculture are non-traditional in mainstream North American terms. The key criterion in a primary relationship is not relative sex or gender, but the pairing of mage and sensitive; given the transformation of sensitives by their mages, physical sex is non-absolute for a sensitive, and gender identity can vary as in anyone else. *** *** The way mages treat sensitives is extremely varied and, in some cases is outright abusive. The struggle against that is pretty much the point of the book. It is NOT grimdark or misery-porn! However, if you will be triggered by this, please, don't read Yin-Yang! *** Complete stand-alone novel, 153K words! Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
