《Someone Under Stress Meets Someone Looking Pretty (Lin-Manuel Miranda X Reader)》Logical

"Oh, hey hey hey hey hey, ooh okay yeah."

You dab at Lin's eye with a cold paper towel. "Hold still." You say, to the squirming man standing in the middle of your tiny apartment's kitchen. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, but it hurts!" He whines. "I know it hurts, but believe me, it won't looks so bad tomorrow if you get ice on it." You say, handing him a paper towel filled with ice to hold over his eye, for lack of a steak.

"How's your arm?" You say. "Fine." Lin says, shyly. "Will you at least let me look at it?" You say, "I'm studying to be a nurse, you know." "Really?" Says Lin, with a slight amount of surprise. "Yeah," You say, "So I think I'm qualified to check out your arm. I just want to make sure it's not broken." He smiles sheepishly and says, "Well, okay Miss Doctor, if you insist."

You help him lift his stained green hoodie over his head. Underneath, the man is wearing only a white muscle shirt and boy, is he doing it justice. The man is lean, real lean, but he's got muscle all right... and You have no problem taking his wrist in yours and feeling your way up his forearm.

Lin gasps in pain as you press into the soft tissue of his elbow. "Yeah," You say, "I think it's sprained." "Well." He says, "At least is not broken." You are out of ice at this point, so you grab a small bag of frozen peas and press it to his elbow. When you look up you realize that your face is remarkably close to his and for a second a strange, instinctive feeling comes over you...

You step back, quickly, forcing him to hold his own frozen peas. You shouldn't be thinking like that about this poor man. He must be very uncomfortable at this moment.

"So," You say, trying to create conversation. "What are you studying here?" Lins face lights up, "Well, I came here on a scholarship for debate, but what I really want is to be on Broadway. I'm majoring in Musical theatre and minoring in U.S. History."

"Really?" You say, "I was in theatre in high school but, it just didn't seem logical to pursue it as an adult." You instantly regret your words, and search Lins face for any sign of offense, but instead, you see him smile. "Does everything have to be logical?" He says, with a coy smirk.

Over the past few seconds, you realize, you've gravitated ever so close to him, and his heavy scent fills your lungs. But before the gap between you and him can be bridged, he is stepping away, pacing towards the door. "Wait!" You say, before he gets to the door, "Am I going to see you again?" Lin puts his hand on the doorknob and pulls it open, grinning, "That depends, plan on pulling another all-nighter?"

You close and lock the door behind him and watch him leave through the peep hole, all the while wondering:

Is love at first sight... logical?
