Your lips parted in surprise, and you found yourself speechless. You wanted to say something, anything, but your mind drew a blank.

Lin pressed his lips to yours again, and when you didn't pull away, he kissed you harder, cupping your face.

A tiny voice in the back of your mind was yelling at you to pull away, that no matter how much Evy annoyed you, how many times she had let you down, Lin was a taken man, and it was flat out wrong to kiss someone else's fiancé.

But with Lin's body pressed against yours, his hands on your face possessively, and his lips on yours, all of your thoughts became a dull roar as every part of you screamed Lin, Lin, Lin.

You kissed him back with just as much passion, digging your hands into his hair.

You deepened the kiss at the same time, pressing closer to each other, desperate to make up for missed time.

Lin's lips suddenly left yours and were on your neck, trailing kisses back up to your mouth.

You connected your lips again, wanting more, never getting enough of him.

Crap. You're in trouble.

You opened your eyes slowly, tired but extremely comfortable and blissfully warm.

Confusion filled you when you realized you were on your couch. You glanced over your shoulder and saw a fast asleep Lin, his body pressed against your back and his arm around you snugly.

You faced forward again, worried that your movement would wake him up.

Your mind drifted back to last night. Although it looked it, nothing super scandalous had happened. You and Lin made out for awhile, and even made it to the couch, with him on top of you, but the 1 am exhaustion quickly overtook both of you and caused you to pass out.

You found yourself wishing that more had happened. God only knows what level he'd gotten to with Evy.

Why did she always get the best of everything?

Lin stirred behind you, and you pretended to just be waking up. He sat up slowly, and you did too, so that you and him were sitting hip to hip.

"Good morning?" You said weakly, and Lin laughed.

"Good morning." He ran his hands down his face. "Sorry I fell asleep. I didn't mean to crash at your place."

He didn't? "Oh, it's fine. It's not like my couch was being used."

"Right." He chuckled, then grabbed his phone from the end table and checked the time. "Uh, crap, I need to go."

Lin stood and hurried over to the door, slipping on his shoes, and you followed him.

"I'm sorry. I'll talk to you later, whenever we see each other," he said, his dark eyes meeting yours.

"It's fine." No it wasn't.

"Okay, see you." He waved then left, leaving you standing there, not knowing what to think.

Later that day, you sat at Starbucks, twisting your hands nervously as you waited for Evy. She had texted you and asked if you could meet up, and thinking it was too suspicious to just say no, you accepted.

And here you were.

"Y/N."

You looked up, and saw Evy standing behind the seat across from you. "Hey, Evy."

She sat down, setting her purse next to her and her phone on the table. "Can I ask you a question?"

"Uh, sure." Your chest tightened.

"I know I told you that I thought you had feelings for Lin, but that was more just me being angry than anything." She leaned forward slightly, causing you to lean back. "I need to know: do you love him?"

And here it is: do you lie to get Evy off your back, or tell the truth and risk causing a fight between her and Lin? Not to mention, she might slap you in the middle of the Starbucks. "Uh..." You grappled with indecision. "Yeah." You cleared your throat, your voice having come out like a whisper. "Yeah."

Confusion and surprise flashed over Evy's face. You realized that she had expected you to lie. "Really?"

You gave a small nod. "I-I'm sorry, Evy, really, I never wanted to hurt you, or to have feelings for him, even, but it just happened."

Her expression was still frozen with surprise. "I..." She tucked her long, wavy hair behind her ear. "Wow. I can't believe you're in love with my fiancé."

"Yeah. Sorry about that."

She nodded, her eyes glued to the table. Without another word, she grabbed her phone and purse and walked out.

You had texted Lin the second Evy walked out.

He responded a minute later.

After that, you had had to go to the Rodgers for a Hamilton performance, where you only really talked to Lin onstage, because you booked it home afterwards.

You had only been home for half an hour when there was a rapid pounding on your door.

You walked over, and shock filled you when you opened it and saw Evy standing there. Streaks of mascara ran down her cheeks, her eyes were red and puffy, and her face was blotchy.

"Evy? Are you okay?"

She threw herself at you, wrapping her arms around you tightly and sobbing into your shoulder.

You stumbled backwards slightly, and used one hand to shut the door behind her. You patted her back awkwardly, confused and still not a huge fan of hers.

"Evy, what happened?"

You led her over to your couch, where she sat down beside you, hunched over and still bawling.

She took a few shaky breaths before answering tearfully, "Lin broke up with me!"
