《Taking Her Home》You Like Her

Vincent called Domenico as he drove home. "Hello," he heard his cousin answer.

"Dom, any news on Enzo?"

"No," Domenico regretfully answered.

Vincent took a deep breath and ran his hand over his face, "okay meet me at my place. Now," He hung up without waiting for an answer.

He continued the drive and thought about Rebecca. By now his men should be placed around her building. Ensuring that she was safe. That thought made him feel a little more at ease, but he still wanted to find Enzo. He couldn't let him think that he could get away with the things he was pulling. Vincent pulled his car in front of his building. Throwing his keys to the valet he walked to the elevator.

Vincent stepped off on the top floor and paused when he heard a knock on a door. He looked up to find Milena Chaykovsky knocking on his door. Sighing he continued the walk to his apartment. "What are you doing here Milena?" He asked as he reached his door. He watched her turn around and cross her arms sending him a glare.

"Who was she?" She asked him as she chewed on her gum like a cow chews it cud. Vincent rolled his eyes and looked the annoying Russian girl up and down. She was wearing a gold sequin dress that barely covered her ass. It had a plunging neck line. Vincent was almost sure that she wore this to a club last night. She probably went home with someone on this side of town and figured that he would let her crash at his place so she didn't have to go all the way back to her place. She had another thing coming though.

"I don't know who you are talking about, Milena," he rubbed his temples. He was getting a headache. She smelt like she was sweating out the alcohol she drank the night before. Scrunching up his nose, he looked her in the eye. His mother taught him even when you don't like or actually respect someone you still show signs that you do. "Milena, I have some really important things to do so if you could just go," He tried to move around her to unlock the door.

"The girl you took to the gala last night. Is she why you won't marry me?" She got Vincents attention with this question. She was delusional.

Turning to look at her he raised his eyebrow at her, "No."

"But you are sleeping with her?" She made it sound like a question but Vincent was sure it wasn't. She probably followed him home and saw her come in with him. Who knows she was crazy and he knew it.

Sighing he looked at her, "Look. We sleep together occasionally. That's it, Milena. You know you're not Italian, which means you're not for me." He had to constantly remind her of this. He had told her from the moment they meet when her father sent her to America to 'keep him company', that they would have nothing more than sex. He didn't take her out, he didn't pay for things, and he never slept with her at his place. The only reason she knew where he lived is because she followed him one night and he didn't think she was enough of a threat to cause him to move. Now he was rethinking that. In fact he was rethinking the whole arrangement he could just keep the truths with her father and send her back to him.

"Your little whore didn't look Italian either," she stated while twirling her strawberry blonde hair around her finger trying to look alluring. It wasn't working.

"Don't call her that," he gritted his teeth and balled his hands into fists. He didn't hurt women he told himself over and over. He opened his mouth to tell her to leave when he heard the elevator doors open. They both looked down the hall as Domenico stepped off with three men following him.

As his cousin got closer to him, Vincent watched him eye Milena. Domenico hated no one more than the annoying women. He looked at Vincent and raised his eyebrows silently asking him what was going on.

"Any chance your men could do me a favor and escort Miss Chaykovsky out of the building?" Vincent asked Domenico who was nodding his head before he even fully had the question out. As the men walked towards her, she was stomping towards the elevator.

"I'm going to tell my father," she shouted over her shoulder. Vincent waved and turned to open his door. Domenico followed him in and shut the door.

"I see your girl is still as crazy as the last time I ran into her," Domenico said walking into the kitchen. Vincent took a deep breath and blew it out as he sat down on the couch. Domenico walked out and handed him a beer before sitting on the other side of the couch.

"She's not my girl, man," Vincent said laying his head on the back of the couch and pinching the bridge of his nose. "She is however working on my last nerve and about to get her ass sent back to Russia."

Domenico started laughing. "She is defiantly crazy. She acts like she owns you or something," he said when he had calmed down. Vincent was tired of talking about Milena, but he nodded in agreement.

"Anyways, did you and Gio get the meeting and all the details set up?" He asked his cousin. Domenico shook his head and Vincent sighed. "Why not?" He yelled and stood up beginning to pace.

"I had an associate take a message to Dito, but we haven't heard anything back yet," he shrugged. Ardito Pecora or Dito was Enzo's right-hand man. He was completely loyal to him and had always hated Vincent. Domenico should have probably known that the message going through him wouldn't be the best plan.

Vincent ran his hands over his face. He was letting Enzo get to him and he was sure that was exactly what he wanted. "Exactly what did he do last night?" Domenico asked him. Vincent told his cousin what Enzo had said to him the night before and watched as his eyes grew. "He threatened her?" he asked shocked by how obvious Enzo had been. "Well how do you plan to make sure she's safe?"

Vincent knew the question was coming. "I plan to stay away from her. Enzo thinks because I brought her last night that she means something to me. Staying away and never seeing her again will show him that she doesn't," he shrugged and finished the last of his beer.

"So, you just left her unguarded?" Vincent shook his head and frowned at his cousin. Did he really think that he would do that. She was innocent. The only reason Enzo knew of her was because of him.

"I wouldn't do that," he responded angrily. "I had Gio send some men to guard her. They are around the building and will follow her everywhere she goes until we take care of Enzo," he stood up and stomped to the kitchen.

Domenico followed his cousin to the kitchen and watched him grab another beer. "Why are you so upset?" he asked him watching for any sign that would tell him what was going on with his cousin.

"No reason," Vincent said sharply. Domenico laughed causing his cousin to glare at him.

"You like her," he pointed at him and said in between laughs. Vincent shook his head while Domenico nodded his with a big smile. "It is okay to like her," he added with a more serious face.

"I don't."

"Yes. You. Do."

"No. I Don't."

"Okay," Domenico took a drink of his beer as the smile appeared on his face again.

"I'm not having this conversation with you," Vincent glared at him before turning and walking out of the kitchen.
