《Thorin x Reader》Limitless prt. 2

There was blood. So much blood. Black blood, red blood, and a mix of the two. The battle raged on. There seems to be no end. You had sought out Thorin when he ran out with his kin. He ran along side hi. As you slashed into your opponents. You cut off limbs and legs and he cut off the head to finish the job. It was great teamwork. He saved you life on more than one account and you saved his. Both of your blades sang as they pierced through the enemy. It was something that had pulled on your heart strings.
Yes, he was in fact a king, but he knew that that came second. If he must defend his home and his things, he would do what ever it was to protect what was his. You loved that about him. And with each glance you took of each other you felt it more and more. It was like a whirlwind of feelings. You could not be together! It was like your heart and you mind were giving up on you. You so desperately wanted to be with him, but it would be sinful.
"Y/n! " Thorin shouted and you looked at him," We ride to Ravenhill!" He was mounted I tip of a war Ram. He held a hand out to you and you took it with a grin. You held onto his waist as he sped off toward the rocky slope.
***
"You're going to be okay, you know that right?" You leaned over him. He was laid over a cot in a tent.
"I know....it just...," he sighed. Your brows furrowed.
"What? You can tell me anything," you put a soft hand on his and he looked at it for a moment before grabbing your hand in his.
"Again, I know....," he was silent while he contemplated what he was going to say," I've done somethings that's I wish I could take back y/n. Hurtful things. To my kin and dear friends," he began.
"They will forgive you Thorin; they respect you," you smiled. He smiled back. He didn't dare move his body for fear of pain. He had been done in my Azog before the fatal blow of Orcist.
"Perhaps, but it is not just the bad that I reminisce on y/n," he looked into you gorgeous e/c eyes. "I have done some good too. One of them was meeting you," he smiled. You blushed at his complement.

"I'd love to hear your tales Thorin, but for now, please- rest," you pulled your hand back. He needed rest and he knew it. Healing his broken body was his top priority right now.
"If you promise to return to me once I've healed," he said before you fully exited.
"I promise," you whispered loud enough for him to hear. And you stepped into the cold winter wind and walked on to find Bard.
***
You met up with Bard a couple times today. It was the same small chit chat you usually had. You asked him how his kids were doing and you were relived to hear that they were doing just fine.
"I swear, Bane grows two inches every time I see him," you smirked and Bard chuckled.
"Don't remind me, he will be a man sooner than I should like,"
"He already is a man. He is one of courage and bravery. He's very smart that boy," you said happily.
"Indeed he is. I don't think I could ever bring him out of his stubbornness though. He must get it from his mother," he laughed to himself.
"Definitely!" You had met Bards wife on more than one occasion before she passed.
Bard exhaled deeply," so, you remember how you said there was no bet you couldn't win?" You gave him a challenging stare as you walked with him," how could I not? Why? Have one you think I will succumb to?"
"Not just think, know. Want to hear it?"
"You bet your ass," you smiled devilishly.
"I bet that you are falling in love with that dwarf king," he paused his walking to look at you. You face became flushed.
"I will never!" You lied.
"Could've fooled me,"
"Well, fine then, you're fooled," you continued walking. Your denial was extremely obvious.
"Sure, but the bet still stands," he walked with you now.
"You're on," you said weakly. You were fighting a loosing battle and you knew it.
***
It had been three weeks. You had heard that Thorin had finally agreed to giving Bard his share of the gold and Thranduil got to keep the gems. It was a happy ending really. Only, you weren't entirely happy.
You mind had been haunted day and night about Thorin. You loved him. From the depths of your heart you loved him to the moon and back. But he was if Dwarf kind; you were a human. Your kind weren't meant to mix. Surely Thorin had to know this...right?

You had finished loading a wagon of bagged gold and saw Thorin standing outside his tent. You smirked. You would not break your promise and any chance you got to be with him was worth it.
You planted yourself beside him and he chuckled," what?" You asked with a smile of your own.
"You kept your promise," he looked up at you.
"Of course! I'm slightly offended you didn't think I would. I'd do anything for you," you said softly. And he hummed.
"....you know, I forgot to mention that you and an extremely skilled fighter. There need to be a hundred more of you in our armies," he compliment again and you giggled.
"You and your compliments, they flared me honestly," you blushed slightly.
"Ah, well you are worthy of compliment my lady," he said looking up at you. You looked out over the horizon.
"Thank you,"
"My pleasure," you saw something in his eye you didn't see before. They were full of lust, something unknown and his eyes held adoration as they looked a you. You looked away and cleared your throat.
"So, I should suspect that I'm needed back in Laketown. They cannot rebuild by themselves," you looked at him," I thank you Thorin. You've been so kind to me and I appreciate it." He gave a bow of his head.
"I'll see you when the city is rebuilt then?" He said as you walked away. Your surprised to find his voice waver and it sounded hurt.
"Of course!" You smiled back and without another word you began the long walk home.
***
You rubbed your arms as you walked through the snowy place of Dale. A few dead bodies still lie hear and there. There was still much to be done after the battle. With time the world would seep back into how things were.
You marched through snow as you heard a faint tapping sound. You paused in your steps. The sound continued to grow as they evolved into the fall of foot steps.
"Y/n!" You turned quickly when you heard Thorin shouting.
"Thorin?" You asked back and he came into view around the bend. "Thorin! What are you doing! Your people need you,"
He ran up to you and fell to his knees you joined the dwarf as you knelt in front of him," they mean nothing if I don't have you at my side,"
"What?" You were confused.
"I've realized now that the one thing I long fire is no longer gold, gems, or riches. After meeting you something in my heart clicked and I long to be by you until you release me," you me face was blank as you blinked at him.
"....I...we....you," you didn't know where to begin. The snow began to fall and filled your hair with small white flakes. Mush to Thorin's approval; they made you look more beautiful.
"Take your time," he chuckled.
"We're not supposed to be together. Your a dwarf and I'm one of men,"
"That doesn't matter y/n," he was very serious when I said it.
"How?! Yes, I have feelings for you as well, but.....it's not meant to be," Thorin looked hurt by your words.
"I will do anything to get you so come back with me y/n! I-I... I. Love you, I do not care what other think. Love is....limitless. Not your race or your height could make me feel any differently," he put a warm hand on your cheek. You were speechless.
Surprising both you, you leaned down and kissed him. He kissed you back and you pulled away all too soon.
"Ya know....you're really persuasive," you chuckled and so did he. Loved that sound so much.
"Indeed," he smooth his thumb over your cheek. A few snow flakes passed in front of your vision.
You sighed," I owe someone some money," you looked into his eyes.
His brows furrowed," why's that?"
"I uhh....made a bet with Bard that I wouldn't fall for you,"
"Glad to see you lost," he chuckled," sorry."
"No no, I'm okay with it too," you said as you kissed him one last time while the snow effortlessly fell from the sky.

Yin-Yang
Mages in North America seem to have it all – typically from well-off families, and able to manipulate their environment in ways most of the world would never believe. They don’t even have to bother with the mundane details of life like housework, thanks to their sensitives, who also make a useful source for extra magical energy. After all, sensitives have no use for it themselves, and if mages weren’t meant to make use of it, then the sensitives would obviously have some way to prevent that. That a mage can transform a sensitive physically, with no restrictions beyond overall mass and basic biological viability, whereas magic tends not to work directly on any other living thing, is only further proof. And look at the way they live on their own, barely a step above animals. It’s better for them to belong to a mage. Sensitives in North America live on the edge of society and survival – typically so paranoid they avoid hospitals and anything else that could lead to being tracked, many of them with little or no education and no legal identity or existence. Mages exist, and mages want sensitives for some reason, but no one ever comes back to explain what that reason is. Waiting every day for the hunters to notice them doesn’t lead to much motivation or hope for the future. And once they’re captured, they’re the property of someone with a terrifying amount of power over them. Anything is better than capture. Mages are born to be the masters, and sensitives are born victims. Or are they? Jax’s life is turned upside-down when he’s caught by the hunters and sold to a mage. Andreas is still mourning for his previous sensitive, though, unconsciously creating a difficult standard for Jax to live up to, all the more so while still struggling to come to terms with this new reality as Andreas’ sensitive. A runaway sensitive isn’t what Van expects at the mental health centre. Is this a hunter trap, set for him and the rest of the Donovan family by the hunters? The hunters would, after all, love to see them cross the line openly and finally do something they can be charged with. Either way, Miranda’s genuinely in trouble, and he can’t just abandon her to it. Snatching a sensitive out from under the hunters and hiding her is odd behaviour for a mage – but then, Catherine is an odd mage, living in disgrace in the old servants’ quarters of her grandmother’s house, responsible for cooking and housework. Lila owes Catherine her freedom; is there a way to help Catherine achieve her own, and at what price? Tension is building between traditionally-minded mages and those advocating change, and something has to break. *** Yin-Yang includes a small amount of profanity and no graphic sex or on-screen physical violence. However, sex and gender roles and relationships within the mage/sensitive subculture are non-traditional in mainstream North American terms. The key criterion in a primary relationship is not relative sex or gender, but the pairing of mage and sensitive; given the transformation of sensitives by their mages, physical sex is non-absolute for a sensitive, and gender identity can vary as in anyone else. *** *** The way mages treat sensitives is extremely varied and, in some cases is outright abusive. The struggle against that is pretty much the point of the book. It is NOT grimdark or misery-porn! However, if you will be triggered by this, please, don't read Yin-Yang! *** Complete stand-alone novel, 153K words! Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.

"Oh and Jim, Jim Gordon?" Jerome peered into the camera as if to yell out to an audience: "I have Rory here," he turned the camera towards Jim's daughter and revealed to the audience a girl that had been beaten and tormented, she was gaged and her eyes didn't look at the camera but above the lens; at Jerome who was holding the camera."Say hi to Daddy, doll face," he jeered from behind the camera. She looked down the lens and shook her head as if to tell Jim not to try. The camera went back to Jerome."She's a beauty isn't she, Jimbo," Jerome smirked into the camera, his laughter becoming harsh and wild: "and she's all mine, you try anything, and I mean anything, I kill her. She's my prisoner, my reward, and you're not taking her away from me Jimmy boy, on no, not this time" his words were spoken through waves of laughter.***Rory Gordan is the stepdaughter of Jim Gordon.
