: Ooh, I love your fics! Can I request a reader/thorin, where the reader is a tall human and knows Thorin would never love her, but falls for him anyways, but Thorin thinks the same. She stays after BOFA but once he heals she leaves Erebor, but hearing this Thorin goes after her. Halfway through Dale he finds her and begs her not to go, and she thinks that it wouldn't work because she's human, but he convinces her that he doesn't care and loves her. Ty!!

"So what if I won a bet against you?" You leaned against the side of the boat.

"That'll be the day hell freezes over. There's no chance y/n," Bard laughed and you scoffed.

"Pssh, please! You give me something we can bet on, and I guarantee I'll win," you gave him a glare.

"I'll be sure to keep an eye out for something," he chuckled to himself. Bars steered the boat farther down the stream until the docks showed up.

Bard looked out of the boat to see if his assortment of barrels had arrived. He sighed when he saw none," wait here. I will have a talk with the elves," he said and he stepped off the boat leaving you to your lonesome.

You sighed. What on earth would you do with the time you had now? You looked down at your dirt filled nails.

"Ew," you whispered and you went about picking at them. Once they were semi-clean you pulled out your long silver sword. It was in dire need of reshaping. So you pulled out a stone that Bard had stashed in the boat and went about filling the blade. It became sharper with graze.

***

Your sharpening was put to a halt as you heard the sound of approaching footsteps. You looked up and your eyes went wide with confusion.

"Uhh....Bard?" You didn't make eye contact within. Instead you looked over the twelve dwarves who stood before you. There was a smaller fellow with a big hairy feet! He had to be a hobbit!

"Yes yes, I know. They want me to smuggle them into Laketown. Although, they will not tell me why. Perhaps it is not my business?" Bard looked over the dwarves again. Each one carried a beaten and battered barrel. They had come from the elves? But why? You thought they hated elves.

"So it's that easy? We hide them in these barrels and yet we don't know the half of what these dwarves are capable of?" You spoke to Bard.

"Well....they are paying me. I'll give you half of the pay IF you play along," you looked at him with a glare. Looking back t the dwarves you studied them.

One dwarf in particular caught your eye. He was taller than the rest and he had long black hair. His black beard to match was just as long. His appearance made you think there was some kind of kingly charisma about him. You sighed through your nose. His and the rest of the lot, had eyes that were desperate and pleading.

"I suppose we can help them," you still looked that the attractive one with black hair. He bowed a little.

"You have our thanks," he said and you have a smile. You gestured for all the dwarves and hobbit to climb on board.

***

You had finally reached it back into Laketown. Now you had a company of fourteen to worry about. You would abandon your friend Bard with them just yet. You had grown all too fascinated with the one called Thorin.

You watched Thorin from where you stood in the corner of Bard's living room. You had never seen Bard's house so packed before! Dwarves where everywhere! Thorin had retreated himself away to the window. He stared out side overlooking a Dwarvish Windland. Those weren't made anymore.

Upon Thorin arrival, he had kept thing utterly hush-hush from you and Bard. What was he hiding? Why did he need to reach the mountain? Your glared at him as you sped over to him and placed a hand on his shoulder. You leaned down to his ears.

"Can I talk with you for a moment?" You said and he gave a small nod. You led the way as he trailed behind you. You had led him into a different room within Bard's house. You locked the door behind you. You turned to him.

"What's this about?" He furrowed his brows.

"I'm curious and I need answers," you said as you sat on a couch by the fireplace. You gestured to the spot next to you for Thorin. He took it cautiously.

"What are you "curious" about?" He placed his mug of warm tea on the coffee table.

"Who are you?" He tended a bit at that."now, you have my full respect and I will not tell anyone what you say to me. Anything that happens in this room stays in this room," you assured and he relaxed a little.

"....I am Thorin...Oakenshield. The dwarves and I seek Erebor in a chance of reclaiming it," he said seriously.

You scoffed, "reclaim it? There is a fire-breathing- dragon in that mountain. Haven't you heard the prophecy? It's said that if he wakes up, we're basically doomed," you picked at your nails some more.

He sighed," aye I have, but for my people to have a better life, I would do anything," he stared into the flames of the fire. You looked him for a moment. He really wasn't joking was he?

"....y-your what? L-like their king?" You were connecting the dots.

"Aye," he looked up at you with a smile. You blushed at it. He looked so attractive when he smiled.

You cleared your throat and looked away.

"What? Is being in the presence of a king intimidating to you?" His smile widened as you looked at him without saying a word.

"It's not just that.....," you looked away again. Mid he wanted to know the real reason, you would tell him. You were confident in yourself to do that sort of thing.

"Well then, by all means say it! If I am to be frank myself, you are quite adorable when you blush," he picked up his hot mug and sipped it. You blushed more at the compliment. You looked at him and raised you chin a little higher.

"I was going to say you have a nice smile and it makes you more attractive," and to your enjoyment, he smiled again. You could tell that he want trying to fake it.

"Thank you my lady. What is your name?" He set the mug back down and you cleared your throat again.

"I'm Y/n. Bard is my dear friend," you said as you looked at him.

"Y/n is a beautiful name," he compliment again. You heart was doing loops.

"Coming from a king...I suppose that means a lot," you gave a nervous chuckle.

"King is just a title," he said looking back into the fire. You pondered for a moment at how good of a king he would be when he got his city up and running.

"Well, Thorin Oakenshield, I hope that one day you would let me walk amongst your kingdom when it's reconstructed. I'd love to see it sometime," you truly meant every word. He looked at you with such sincerity.

"Of course. I would be honored to have you walking my halls," he compliment again. He saw you blush one last time before you got up and led him out of the room so he could be with the others. Something about this mountain king made your heart flutter. Odd.It was so emmensly unheard of that dwarves and men would court. It would never be meant to be.

With a sad sigh you left Bard's home and walked to your own that was just down the dock.
