《Helpless (Lin-Manuel Miranda x Reader)》Lin Said

The morning after the first day that you got back to New York was strange.
You woke up, and felt like nothing had changed. Then you remembered that Lin liked you- and you would be able to date him soon! As soon he broke up with Vanessa.
It felt like you were trapped in a daze, and you would soon snap out of it and have the whole D.C. trip disappear- but as of now, that hadn't happened.
Usually, you hated mornings, but you were actually happy when you woke up. Life was finally going your way, and you were going to make the most of it while it lasted. (Let's be honest- things don't stay perfect forever)
Not to mention, you had your first rehearsal today! Lin had filled up the Hamilton cast and finished writing the songs- and now it was time to begin practice.
But before you went to the Richard Rodgers Theater, you decided to stop for coffee so that you would have maximum energy during rehearsal.
While you're waiting, you hear behind you, "Y/N."
You turn around and see Vanessa. Panic hits you. Uh oh. "Hi."
For some reason, she looks smug. "Did you hear?"
Now you were confused rather than panicked. "What?"
"That Lin and I are probably going to get married!"
You feel the blood drain from your face. Lin said that he would break up with her. Lin said that he didn't like her anymore. Lin said that he liked you. Lin said that he wanted to be with you. Lin said. Lin said. Lin said.
You manage a weak smile. "Congratulations. Has he proposed?"
"No, but we talked about getting married. I'm so excited!" Vanessa studies your expression. "Are you okay? You look like you're going to pass out."
You suddenly feel angry. How could Lin lead you on like that? Make you feel like you mattered to him, then back out of his promise and make you feel like a fool? A fool in love with him.

"I'm fine," you mutter, then grab your coffee when they call your name. "I need to go."
When you get there, you see a group of people standing on the stage, including Tommy Kail, Alex Lacamoire, and-
"Daveed!", you exclaim.
He turns around, and a wide smile spreads across his face. "Y/N!"
He jumps off the stage, then rushes over to you. When you meet, he wraps you in a hug.
You separate, and he says, "I didn't know you auditioned for Hamilton!"
You smile, his happiness rubbing off on you. Plus you had missed his fluffy dark brown hair, which stuck out to the sides. You had braided it multiple times before. "I didn't know you did either!"
You had met Daveed in high school, then gone to the same college. But then you moved away to California for a few years, and had lost touch. You just moved back a couple years ago.
"What part did you get?", you ask.
"Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson."
"Cool, those are fun parts."
"What about you?"
"Eliza."
"Oh, Mr. Famous-pants' wife, that's a good part."
You laugh. "Yep."
He grabs your hand and starts to drag you towards the stage. "I need to introduce you to the rest of the cast. They're awesome."
Pretty soon, you've met the cast, and Daveed was right- they're really nice, cool, and funny.
But then as you're talking to Anthony and Leslie, you hear, "Alright, everyone, welcome to the first Hamilton rehearsal!" You freeze. Lin.
You turn around, and Daveed must've sensed something was wrong, because he suddenly appears at your side.
"Hey, are you okay?", he asks.
"It's a really long story," you reply.
"Tell me later," he says, and you nod.
"Everyone here is obviously very talented, which is why you got into the show. My name is Lin-Manuel Miranda, and I'm going to be playing Hamilton, and also kind of acting as a director."

The cast clapped, and you weakly followed along.
Lin looks at you, and you lock eyes. You look away. The lyric "we both know what we know" comes into your mind.
After a moment, Lin continues. "Today we'll just slowly be going through the songs, teaching you melody and what the song is like. Later on, we'll help you find your part and add blocking."
The rehearsal continues on like normal. You already knew the first song of the show, "Alexander Hamilton" perfectly, so you were able to soar right through that- until the end.
"We fought with him," Daveed and Oak sings.
"Me? I died for him," Anthony sings.
"Me? I trusted him," sings Chris.
Then you realize what you're about to sing. That you loved Lin- well, Alexander. Loved him. At the moment, you felt really angry at him, so you sang it like it was true (even though you knew it was loved because it was past tense). "Me? I loved him," sings you, Renee, and Jasmine.
You look at Lin, and he looks at you. You could tell that he knew you knew.
At the end of rehearsal, Daveed walks up to you. "So, spill. Why were you upset?"
You sigh. "Why don't we get some food and I'll explain? I'm really hungry."
He nods. "Sounds good. I'm going to get my stuff."
When Daveed leaves, Lin cautiously walks over to you. "Hey, Y/N."
You look at him, trying to keep a stone expression so that he didn't know how much he hurt you.
"Vanessa must've told you about how..."
"You might get married?", you ask snottily.
"I meant to break up with her, I really did. I told her, 'we need to talk about our future.' and she said 'I agree' but then she started talking about getting married, and I didn't how to stop her. She was so happy." Lin looked so apologetic that you almost broke your stoic expression. "I'm so sorry."
You shake your head. "It's fine. I just can't believe I thought that you actually liked me." In that moment, you let your pain shine in your eyes. You loved Lin. You loved him, and he lied to you.
"I do."
"Well, obviously not enough, because otherwise we'd be together right now." Tears threatened to spill down your face, and you wiped them away before that could happen. "Listen, I really care about you, Lin. I just..." You're at a loss for words. What more can you say? "Why couldn't you just tell her?", you whisper so softy that you think he didn't hear you.
"I'm so sorry. I'm just not good at breakups, and I've been with Vanessa for so long that I just... froze." Lin looks into your eyes. "I still like you."
"Well, you shouldn't," you snap. "You're with Vanessa. And we're...never going to be together." Your voice breaks. You didn't want to cause drama, and didn't want your life to turn into a soap opera, but you had put your heart on the line when you said you liked him. And Lin didn't care.
Lin, for once, was at a loss for words.
Daveed walks over, and looks back and forth between you two, seeing your pained expressions and the water starting to fill up in your eyes again. "Hey, are you guys okay?"
"Let's go," you say, and walk out of the theater together.
"Y/N, what's going on?", Daveed asks. You break down crying, and he pulls you into his arms.
You knew that things wouldn't go your way for long.
*A/N: I know the timeline is way off- Lin went to Mexico in 2008, then performed at the White House in 2009, then Hamilton rehearsals started in like 2015. For now, just pretend it all happened in the same year.*

Dominion Expansion (a 4X LitRPG)
Clay is one of the world's top players of 4X games, a genre where the goal is to eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate. He's also one of the only players in the world to so stubbornly stick to the one city strategy, a favorite tactic of his that involves only ever using a single city or planet depending on the game's setting. All that matters to him is winning with his favorite strategy, but earning the respect of his fellow players for taking a sub-optimal strategy to its highest level has always been a nice bonus. And now it is because of his skill and entertaining determination that he has been chosen to represent a higher realm in a strategy game where the fate of Earth and dozens of other worlds are at stake. To the victor goes the spoils, and the spoils include entire worlds and billions of lives. That's how he ends up representing the ascended realm of Hell in a grand "game" between an entire pantheon of godly beings and other higher powers. But while it may just be a game to those overseeing it, it is a genuine war for survival to those participating in it where billions of real lives will go to the victor of whoever wins, and many will die before the game is over. Quick Author's Notes: System inspired by Civilization, Endless Legend, Stellaris, and Crusader Kings 2. Combat mechanics inspired by the Total War series. Slow-paced with many long-term plans. Protagonist has a personality heavily inspired by Ron Swanson. Know who that is and love him? You should like Clay. Know who Ron Swanson is and hate him? You'll probably hate Clay. Planning on writing every single day (turn). Days with important things happening will have the system/game mechanics be the priority of the chapter. Days where there isn't really anything important happening will be more slice-of-life and focused on character interactions. Designed a dice-based randomized map generator to create the world as the story goes on, so I don't even know myself exactly what's going to happen as a lot is dependent on world generation. Tech tree with hundreds of technologies already designed. There is a "harem," but it's not the main focus, the girls won't be cardboard cutouts, and I'm not going to completely forget about any previous women in the relationship whenever a new one comes along. One last thing. The "game" starts off with primitive technology level. The current plan is for the "endgame" tech level to be equivilent to WW2-era technology. After that and war just gets boring until you end up in space. Cover is temporary and made from royalty-free stock images while waiting for the real cover's commission to finish.
