《||The grabber||》chapter 7 || Could it be love?

Abby had no idea how long she'd been in the basement. A month maybe? More? She wasn't sure..she'd lost track the first week.
She'd gotten used to the man's constant mood swings..some days he'd be so loving..and caring twords her. Others...when he was mad..he would get..abusive. That didn't happen often anymore, he hardly ever had bad days anymore. Albert would sometimes still leave the door unlocked, testing her. She usually ignored it..knowing his stupid games.
but this night..she felt especially alone..sad. She hated the basement..Abby just wished he would trust her enough to let her stay upstairs. She missed him, his hands on her body, listening to his heart as she fell asleep. She especially missed her family..mostly Kelly though.
Abby found herself walking twords the door, handing shaking violently. She pulled the door open slowly, creaking up the stairs, trying her best to keep quiet. Her body shook, she grabbed the hand rail as she crept up the stairs, peaking into the kitchen. There he was, belt in had like it had been all those nights ago. That's when it happened..they locked eyes. "Abby.." he mumbled, staring at her..if looks could kill she would be dead. Very dead.
"Come here." He said flatly. She stood there, frozen in place. "I..I'm sorry I was just.." he cut her off. "Here. Now." He demanded. A tear streamed down her cheek, she slowly walked twords him, stopping in front of him. His hands snaked around her waist, pulling her closer. "Such a naughty girl . I've done so much for you..and this is how you repay me? Hm? Trying to run away.." he growled. "no..no I'm not trying to run away..I promise" she says "oh? What else could you possibly be doing..sneaking up here like that..hm?" He mumbled , his face against her stomach. "I was lonely..I hate being alone down there.. it's dark..and even with the blankets it's super cold..plus I miss you" she whimpered, a tear streaming down her cheek.

He thought for a minute, lifting his head to look at her. "well..is suppose..if you're good for the next few days ill think about letting you stay up here with me. How does that sound? " He hums, his hand gripping her thigh. She nods quickly, her body trembled. He got up, picking her up. Albert walked down the stairs, putting her down. The man sat on the bed, "mm come on I'll keep you warm.." he said. She crawled onto the bed next to him, resting her head on his chest. The man tensed up a bit before slowly wrapping his arms around her.
Abby closed her eyes, humming happily. She rested her head against his chest, listening to his heart beat. Soon, she fell asleep. Albert watched silently, moving to go back upstairs.
The next morning, abby found herself alone in the bed. She let out a soft sigh, sitting up. She heard the door creak open, Albert came into the room with some new breakfast. She usually was given eggs and a sprite, but recently he began bringing her pancakes and water, or a sandwich. He sat in the edge of the bed holding a plate of pancakes and a cup of milk. He smiled , slowly handing her the food. "Here you are darling..I know how much you love pancakes" he coos, kissing her head before getting up. "I have a few things I need to do today. Would you like me to bring anything back from the store? Maybe a drink or sweets?" He asked. She nods eagerly "yes please..could you get sour gummy worms..? And maybe a soda?" She asks, taking a drink of the milk. "Yes..I will. I shouldn't be gone long..maybe once I'm home we can go upstairs and watch a movie" he says, kissing her head before leaving the room. She watched as he left, laying back in the bed. Abby couldn't believe she felt..safe..and comfortable with her abductor.

A few hours passed, it was around 3 pm now. The sky was dark, rain hit the small window. She could hear the thunder, comfortably listening to it from her bed. The door creaked open, making Abby look over. "Hello darling" Albert hums. He had a grocery bag in his hand, he put the bag in front of her. "I grabbed a few extra snacks for you.." he says, watching her. "Thankyou" she said, smiling wide. "How about the movie I promised?" He coos, offering his hand. Abby got up, grabbing his hand and her bag. The man led her up the stairs, to the living room. He sat on the couch..the house reminded her so much of Kelly..she missed Kelly. She knew her friend was probably so worried..Abby wished she could see Kelly again..just once. Albert pats the seat next to himself. Abby sat down, resting her head on his shoulder. The man gave her thigh a gentle squeeze. "How about this movie? " He said , pointing to the TV, she nods.
About half way into the movie, Abby fell asleep. Her head resting in his lap, a blanket over her smaller frame. Albert slid the mask off his face, putting it into the table in front of them. He moved a strand of hair out of the girls face, kissing her cheek, then her head. "sweet dreams.." he hums. The man slowly picked her up, taking her to his room, carefully, he laid her onto the bed, pulling the blanket over her. He went to the living room, laying onto the couch.

I apologize for the late update! I've been so busy and felt very unmotivated. I thought you guys deserved some fluff, so I hope you enjoy!
I changed a few things, the main thing being that Albert didnt kill Kelly, I was rereading and decided I didn't like it. I'm still trying to take it out of the chapters it's brought up in.
Wattpad is getting on my nerves. Chapters are getting mixed around in the table of contents and I can't fix it😭 whenever I try to update a chapter it takes forever because I keep getting an unknown error. I apologize

Ortus (Old Version)
This is an old version of the heavily edited and rewritten Ortus This is the story of a woman named Riza. Riza is a woman who wakes up in a forest with nothing, remembering nothing, and on the cusp of death. The only thing she has is a weapon stuck in her side and, after a tangle with a wild boar, something called 'life aspect'. Little does she know that life magic is considered a dead-end branch and is largely outlawed across the world. None of this matters to her, of course. For one, even if someone tried to tell her, she doesn't know the language. Number two, have you heard about the sunk cost fallacy? Riza is not some chosen one, nor is given any boon she doesn't deserve. Instead, she's smart and methodical, and experiements on how to maximise every opportunity, every ability, presented to her. She doesn't just take things at face-value but instead explores just what limitations there are. This often involves maths.
