《Whodunnit ?》Chapter 28 - Killer Workout (Part 1)

After the discovery of Dan's body, Giles guided the remaining four guests into the library.
"As you all well know. There are normally three areas of scrutiny but on this buzzing morning, the killer would like to offer you a bit of a twist... four areas to investigate."
All of the guests pulled faces of shock and a mix of confusement What could the fourth area possibly be?
"The person who will win the mystery area will also get the opportunity to investigate another area for three minutes."
"I can see you're all jumping at the bit to win this area. So... we'll stab each other for it!" Giles replied in a happier than usual accent.
"Wait what?" Michelle asked, wondering if what she heard from the butler was actually accurate.
-
Turns out that Giles's stabbing statement was all a pun for the next task. For one of the remaining four guests to win the mystery fourth area, he or she would need to stab a massive block of ice with an ice pick first.
Lined up from left to right was Reynold, Michelle, Brianna and then Nelson. Each of the guests noticed how they would have to grab what looked like a yellow egg box in the centre of the block of ice.
"Your time starts...now!" Giles set the four guests off.
Reynold, Michelle, Brianna & Nelson all went at it on the block. Stabbing it furiously with all their power. For the two guys (Nelson & Reynold) it was clear that they were going to be able to push harder than Michelle at least. But Brianna's Olympic reputation was slowly catching up with the guys.
Suddenly, a large block broke off Nelson's massive ice cube. Which gave him a big advantage. The charity worker started stabbing like he'd never stabbed before, and just as he was about to grab for his egg box...
"Yes!" Reynold celebrated loudly as he pulled out his yellow egg box out of the massive ice block.
"Congratulations Reynold, you have won the mystery area!"
"Bullshit." Nelson & Brianna both huffed simultaneously.

"So, Mr. Jiggon. Which other area would you like to investigate for only three minutes?"
"I'm gonna go with the Morgue." Reynolds decision shocked no one really. It would be obvious for the doctor to obviously choose the area which he was most familiar with in his daily life, the morgue.
"As for the rest of you... the killer would like you all to settle which area you would like to investigate. The one catch is, you must all agree to go to separate areas." Giles dropped another bombshell on the group.
It soon hit them all that only one person would be going to each scene. (With the exception of Reynold)
Giles gave the guests a couple minutes to decide which areas they would like to investigate.
The four quickly scurried into their pairs.
"Where do you wanna go?" Reynold whispered to Michelle.
"Crime scene," Michelle replied back instantly.
"Well, this is interesting. We all have to..."
"We have to agree." Michelle finished the doctor's sentence.
The doctor went over to the pair of Nelson & Brianna.
"Where do you wanna go guys?" Reynold asked.
Brianna went first "I wanna go to the last known."
"Crime scene." Nelson chirped.
"Well, I want to go to the crime scene.. So you're going to have to change." Michelle replied back in an arrogant tone.
"Excuse me?" Nelson scoffed back.
Michelle shrugged her shoulders "I'm not budging."
"He's not budging either." Brianna placed a hand on the charity workers shoulder.
"Well, you are going to have too! Because I am not bud-"
Before Michelle could finish her mini tantrum, Giles returned back outside.
"Have you all come to a decision?"
"We have not." Brianna sighed.
Giles gave a slight smirk back. "I can't say the killer didn't predict for this to happen..." The Butler pulled out three identical envelopes.
Inside each of the envelopes (as described by Giles) was the names of the three areas.
Giles shuffled the envelopes before making Brianna, Nelson & Michelle pick one at random.
Nelson opened his first. Upon reading the card he immediately pulled a sour expression. "The morgue."

Michelle & Reynold both gave small smirks as they heard what the envelope read.
Brianna went next, "Last known whereabouts."
Michelle pulled an even bigger smile upon noticing that she got the area she had wanted, the crime scene.
"So it seems that Mr. Jiggon & Mr. Grey will be making a visit to the morgue, Miss Lawson will be visiting the scene of the crime. And Miss Doan will be visiting the last known whereabouts."
"Reynold. Please follow me to the mystery area."
Once again the hidden area was the attic. Giles let Reynold know that he would have to walk towards the tv and sit down before the clue would be revealed. The butler waited at the bottom of the staircase as the doctor trailed the stairs.
Upon walking into the attic, Reynold followed the instructions given and sat on the seat.
The TV suddenly jumped into life. The doctor had to adjust his eyes to the shabby CCTV but eventually he made out the picture.
The camera looked like it was positioned at the very front of Rue Manor. It didn't take long for the doctor to realise this was from last night, thanks to the time stamp on the lower left of the picture. At first nothing was happening, but soon a large type of Land Rover approached the Rue Manor gates (from the side of safety). This confused the doctor.
"How could have we not of heard a massive truck approaching the gates last night?" Reynold said to himself as he continued staring at the screen.
The gates surprisingly opened, and almost immediately before the truck could get even two metres into the driveway. A censored, blurry figure ran out the bushes surrounding the driveway, and opened the driveway door. The figure then proceeded to throw the driver out of the Land Rover. The man looked surprised himself as the figure threw him into the bushes.
Even though it was out of the cameras angle, it was clear that the killer killed the driver of the Land Rover in the bushes.
After about twenty seconds or so away from the camera angle, the killer reproached to the Land Rover and drove further into the driveway.
The TV then flickered to another camera. This one was at the left side of the Manor. The Land Rover took an unexpected turn and started to drive into the wooded area of Rue Manor (near where Dan's body was found) the TV then flickered again and cut to the CCTV camera inside the garage. After a few minuites of fiddling in the drivers seat, the blurred killer stepped outside of the Land Rover and proceeded to close the garage door.
Then, abruptly. The TV went black.
"That's it?" Reynold said out loud.
After a few seconds of sitting down (just to be sure) Reynold left the attic. Eager to share this information with Michelle.
Brianna was surprised to find out that Dan's last known whereabouts was the side path, which was the path which lead to the back of the Manor. She was confused what could have possibly been at the area, but upon turning the corner to the side path she definitely knew why.
The grass surrounding the path was completely obliterated. And the path itself was stained red somehow. Brianna took note that the red colour was most likely Dan's blood.
The Olympian approached a weird object which was catching her eye. The object itself was a very tough type of metal. It had blood surrounding the sharper bits at the top. Brianna didn't believe it at first, but it was becoming more and more clear that this was a bear trap. When you press your foot or any object on the centre, it closes sharply, trapping anything inside it. Just like a Venus fly trap.
The Olympian found it strange that the blood suddenly stopped however after the bear trap. How could it of stopped, and what were those strange marks on the grass which completely destroyed the flowers of Rue Manor. These were all questions she was going to ask herself until the bell rang. And Brianna was out of time.

The Calculator - Supervillainess Time Loop
What makes a terrifying villain? Is it ruthlessness? Is it how powerful they are and how many buildings they can down in one blow? Is it how hard they are to kill, contain, or get rid of in any manner? Is it their knowledge of a hero’s true identity in a world where secrets must be kept? Or is it perhaps how they seem to be perfect in all their actions, defeating the hero at every step of the way throughout to the last one, only to humiliate them one last time before declaring themselves the winner in the grand scheme of things? Isabella Blair is perfect. She knows all your moves before you even make them. All your ambushes are faced with traps and she dodges all your blows like it’s child’s play. Catching her is impossible because she’s always ten steps ahead of you. She says she calculated everything, but she messes up in every fight. She loses far more than she wins, sometimes a hundred times for just one small victory. Yet, she is perfect. How is that possible, you may ask. That’s because she has the uncanny ability to return to the past whenever she makes a mistake. All that’s left in the end can only be what’s perfect if all the realities in which you’ve lost are gone, after all. And that makes for one hell of a terrifying profile. Crossposting on ScribbleHub, SpaceBattles, and Wattpad. Don't mind the "Pre-Rewrite" Volume. It is there for reference until the story catches up to the chapter count via the Rewrite (and to justify the current reviews as there would be no context to them otherwise). If you are a first-time reader, feel free to start from the other Volume.

Growing up has always been difficult. It's even worse when you have to do it all in one night. On the eve of his thirteenth birthday, Ty awakes to find himself in a dreamworld, one-so he is told-that exists to pit him against his greatest fears and insecurities. And to ready him for a final choice. Luckily, Ty is not without friends. He soon meets Gentry, a wooden puppet his grandfather made for him years ago, walking and talking, ready to help Ty learn what he needs to return home in one piece. But that won't be easy when a cruel and abnormally tall skeleton dressed in mockery of Santa Claus and his suit hates Ty's guts. San wants nothing more than to best Ty and do what none of his kind has ever done before: defeat a child that has made "the choice." But Ty will stop at nothing to fight back against everything San's got in order to face his fears and grow up. Because, if he doesn't, he will end up a kid forever. Or, worse...never wake up again. This story is perfect for you if you are a fan of Coraline and Kingdom Hearts, both of those stories greatly inspired this one. I have recently added the Isekai tag after being unsure if it counts or not. I've decided it fits the description of what it is but not the current trends in the genre. If you go in with Coraline in mind I think you will have a better idea of the kind of Isekai this is. And I've also added the Slice of Life tag, that is only for the first five or six chapters though, then Ty enters the dream world and it pretty quickly becoms a progression fantasy, a mix of more traditional fairy tale like trappings alongside more anime action and acquisition of slowly increasing powers. With all that out of the way, please enjoy! Updates every Tuesday and Thursday! What time of day? It's a mystery! (For now)

8 68Shadow Emperor
In a world of magic where those who can wield the elements reign supreme our hero Savani finds himself reborn with a strange Assistance chip. Watch as he climbs higher and higher in a world far different than the one he knew and develop strength enough to stand at the top. ** Warning this story has a very slow boil as the MC begins to grow in power from scratch. Starts picking up around chapter 25. As story progresses themes of slavery, human experimentation, and some sexual content will be added. ** This is a story inspired by novels like Warlock of a Magus World and Age of Adept. I will be taking some ideas from each but trying to make my own story using the world ideas i love from these novels. I am also a first time writer mainly doing this while trapped inside due to the events going on in the world. So feedback is appreciated.
