《A Dragon Rider's Element》Confessions ( 54 )

After we snuck past the police and the security it didn't take long for us to find the others thanks to Athena's keen scent of smell. They had taken shelter at Lake Apopka's Nature preserve which was about 15 minutes North of Disney. Their camp was next to the green waters of the lake. They saw me long before I had a glimpse of them. Mostly like because they were all on guard for threats of Zeref but went they saw me was me they jumped from their seats on the group waved and yelled at me in excitement.

Sardis even put his fingers to his mouth and let out an ear-splitting whistle. In a silent competition to the first whistle a second, much louder whistle rang through the air. I looked to the source of the sound and saw Ty smiling so bright he almost glowed.

They cheered and howled at me till Athena landed on the water's edge. They swarmed me before I even had a chance to dismount Athena. When I did I was immediately taken into the large arms of Alex. Where I was then plucked off the ground and spun around.

Their cheers and praise continued until Alex sat me back on the ground. That's when Roy ran to his bag and grabbed a large bottle.

"I knew it was a good idea to grab this!", He yelled happily while shaking the bottle.

Ignoring my protests and attempts to run he removed the cork and aimed the bubbly liquid at me and Alex who held me in place and me from fleeing.

I laughed and the others joined in all hugging me and the happiness I felt in that money was unmatched by any experience I have in my ageless life.

They made me recount the final battle with Zeref and what became of him. Their cheers stopped and they all became deadly serious as I described the events although I left out the part of seeing my mother. That was a personal experience I wasn't ready to share.

"So is he permanently dead this time?", Roy asked.

"I do believe so. People that turn to ash that don't come back. He's gone", Lauzurs confirmed.

"So it's over?", Roy asked.

"For now but Zeref was right about one thing. There are greater evils out there and we just created a power vacuum of dack forces. It may take lifetimes or it may be tomorrow but they will come", Ty explained sadly.

"When they do will stop them just like we did here", I said smiling at the boys around me.

"Oorah to that", Alex said as he made the motion of raising a glass.

We laughed and copied the motion after him. I couldn't help but yawn out my Oorah and it turned into an exhausted cough.

The boy's eyes instantly shot to me and they started questioning my health and wellbeing. I shrugged them off and said I was just tired. Before I could further protest Ty picked me up and carried me to a premade bed made out of bags and Mickey Mouse Blanket I had assumed they stole from Disney. Ty laid me down gently and covered me up. I tied to argue again but Ty shot me down.

" No, Sleep you've done more than earn it. I'll take care of things."

"But -", I began before my own yawn cut off my words.

He smiled down at me and brushed stray hairs out of my face. He was the last thing I before my eyelids fell closed and I was lost in sleep.

I was someplace different when I woke up instead of a makeshift bed on the ground I found myself in a plush white bed covered in a white quilt and pillows. My limbs poped as I slowly sat up.

The room was modern in style and the walls were a deep grey. Trying to get a grasp of where I was I walked over to the bay window and looked outside. The sun had long seen left the sky and the only light outside was the dem moonlight that shined on a sea of trees and a driveway leading away, deeper into the brush.

I doubted I was in any danger but I wanted to know where I was so I reached out to Athena and called her name. She responded almost instantly.

"Good to know you're awake. I was being to think you fell into a coma."

" I'm fine, but where are we?"

"Well, I'm in the garage with the other dragons, but I believe you're referring to the house. Which is Ty's personal home in Linton, Georgia."

"Ty owns a house?"

" I was surprised too. But it seems that over his lifetimes he has acquired wealth to rival yours."

"He's rich?"

"Surprisingly so."

"Huh. Who would have thought?"

"He's downstairs in the kitchen if you would like to speak with him."

"I just might thank you, Athena."

"Go get your man."

Ignoring her comment I made my way out the bedroom door and did my best to navigate the dack and unfamiliar house.

I came to find that the house like the bedroom was very modern styles, with its grey and white color schemes. The kitchen was no different when I found it. The classic stainless steel appliances, white countertops, and tile floor. The only thing that stood out in the kitchen was a blonde man in a bright yellow t-shirt and grey sweat pants eating a turkey and cheese sandwich.

"Hey", I said to announce my presents.

Ty turned to face me and he nearly choked on his sandwich. He waved at me as coughed and took a drink from his glass. I laughed at him before I hopped up onto the countertop next to him. He smiled at me when he stopped choking.

"You're awake. I was beginning to worry."

"Athena said the same thing how long was I out for?"

"About three days. I guess fighting an immortal sorcerer with an ancient power created by gods takes a lot out of you."

"Who would have thought? Did I miss anything important", I laughed.

"Nah, but Alex and Roy did leave. They wanted to stay till you woke up but they missed their families."

" I see and what about Sardis?"

"He was sleeping like a normal person at this ungodly hour. But someone woke him up", Laurzus groaned from the doorway.

"Sorry I didn't mean to wake you", I apologized.

"Oh no, no. Not you. This twat wakes up at 2' in the morning to make a sandwich! Who does that?"

"I'm sorry. I was hungry!", Ty shot back at his brother.

"And I wanted a good night's sleep for the first time in 900 years!"

I couldn't help but laugh at the two ageless brothers who continued to argue like children. They heard me and they laughed at themselves too. The laugh died and Sardis was the first to speak.

"Well, I'll leave you two love birds to mingle. I'm going to back bed", He said before turning taking his leave.

The comment from him made me blush and look away.

Ty, however, stuffed and smiled at his brother and said, "I see being possessed and tortured hasn't affected your humor."

"Never," Sardis replied, a smirk creeping across his face as he exited the kitchen.

There was a moment of silence between us as I refused to look at Ty to hide my blush. Ty took the initiative and spoke first.

"Thank you. By the way. I never got the chance to say it before but you saved my life. There are no words to say how thankful I am to have a chance to have my brother back. But I'm willing to do anything to repay you for it."

"Don't thank me for that. I would do it all again in a heartbeat if I could. I don't think I could live with myself if you died and there was a way I could stop it. I care about you too much."

" I care about you, too. The mere thought of losing you feels like weights are crushing my soul and it sends me reeling into a hell of my own making. Larisa I - " Ty stopped as if blocked by an inviable wall.

"You what?", I asked desperately for the unspoken I needed to hear.

Ty moved in front of me and took my hands in his and held them in his chest. He looked me in the eyes and his electric blue made me weak. At that moment a bomb could go off next to me and never would have looked away from him.

"I have lived a thousand lifetimes and I have had love but never have I felt like this before. You are truly one of a kind and I can't even contemplate living another day if you aren't in it. When I'm with you I feel everything that my heart was ever meant to be. I've caught myself thinking of a life with you and it was the first time where I was beginning looking forward to an ageless life. A life with you. I am nothing without you and everything with you, and I can only hope you feel the same about me. "

" I do. Oh God, I do", I exhaled before I grabbed his shirt.

I pulled him close and maybe time stopped when his lips met mine, but the flutter I felt only intensified. My heart pounded in my chest as my knees grew weaker even though I was sitting on the countertop. I could only focus on how soft he felt against my lips, how selfishly he seemed to invade all my senses.

Ty leaned further into the kiss and the lights around us flickered. It's not a metaphor when I said sparks of lightning flashed between as and my hair stood up. The air around us grew heavy with electricity and I could feel Ty smile into the kiss.

"So I take that as you like me back."

"No. Take it as an I love you too."

In the heat of passion, Ty took my lips in his and kissed me deeply. My whole body tingled, the feel of Ty's body leaning on mine as his arms wrapped around me felt nearly heavenly. He pulled me off the white countertop and into his chest, claiming my lips again, hungry and intense. By the time I became aware of my fingers, they had already slipped under Ty's yellow shirt, his skin smooth and radiating heat. Before it could go any further Sardis yelled from his room.

"Not in the kitchen you aminals!"

I laughed into the kiss before Ty broke it to yelled at his brother with several unkind words before yielding. He suddenly picked me up bridal style and carried back to bed with a playful smirk.
