《A Dragon Rider's Element》Hotel Ecstasy ( 33 )

The others and I walked through the streets of Rio. The dragon rested in the forest hill of Senador Camará. It didn't take long for us to find a Hotel. The Grand Mercure.

I had memorized my father's credit card information so we were in the clear for money. We got three rooms: two doubles and one single. We decide Alex and Roy would share a room and so would Ty and Jason. I got the single since I was the only girl.

Roy and Alex ran off once they got there keys. I didn't know what they were doing, but I care to ask. Ty just sighed and shook his head at them before he and Jason left to find their room.

I found my room and immediately stripped and hopped into the shower. It was probably the longest shower I had ever taken in my life, but lately, the closest thing I had to a bath was almost drowning in a river. So I think I earned it.

When I had finally pulled myself out of the shower I got dressed in new clothes I had brought early that day when we arrived in Rio.

When I got dressed I heard a knock at my door. I opened to find Alex and Roy. Alex rushed into my room without saying anything. He grabbed the ice bucket from my room and ran out the door again. Roy stood in front of me with several other buckets before they both race off again.

I looked down the hall at them. I saw Ty sticking his head out his door as well.

"Did they steal your ice thing, too?", He asked.

"Yep."

"Why."

"No clue."

"Should we be concerned."

"Probably."

Curiously, I closed my door and followed them.

Walking down the hall I find the pair at the ice machine. Roy was filling a bucket with ice as Alex held five other buckets, all filled with ice.

"What are you guys doing?", I asked leaning on the wall.

They looked at me and answered innocently.

"Getting ice."

"Six buckets of ice?", I questioned.

"It's Free."

"What do you plan with six buckets of ice?"

The pair looked at one other. They didn't say anything but I could tell they made a plan when they smirked dangerously at either.

"We might have an idea", Alex smirked.

"Alright, But leave me out of it", I insisted with my hands up.

I was walking away when Alex called out to me. I stopped and turned to him.

"The others and I are gonna hit the pool. You wanna come?"

" Sure, I meet you guys down there."

"Okay, See you there."

I finished the walk back to my room and put on my swimsuit.

It was also from the store where I got my other clothes. I had gone on a small shopping spree when I got to Rio.

It took me a while to find the pool, but when I did Alex, Roy, and Jason were already there. There weren't many other people besides us there.

There were only a mom and her two kids; a boy, and a girl. They were about 7 or 8.

Roy saw me and waved me over. I sat on the pool ledge with my feet in the water.

"Hey, Guys", I greeted.

"Lookin, Good, Al", Jason teased with a lustful look in his eyes.

I immediately felt uncomfortable as I pulled my knees up to my chest.

"Dude, Don't be a pervert, Alex scolded.

Jason glared at Alex which Alex returned. They stopped when Roy splashed them both.

This started an all-out war. Jason was outnumbered as Alex and Roy teamed up and drowned him.

I watched from the poolside and laughed. Another laughed soon joined me. I turned and saw Ty standing behind me.

I smiled at him as he sat down beside me. He still wore his shirt and bright yellow swimming trucks.

"Hey", I greeted.

"Hey", He said before gesturing to the others in the pool," What's got them riled."

"Don't worry about it", I reassured.

The boys in the water stopped once they realized Ty was there. They swim back to the pool edge trying to look innocent.

They failed.

We sat and talked for a while. It felt good to do something normal for a change. These past few weeks have been a roller coaster.

However, I wouldn't say that it was all bad, though. The past few weeks have been fun too. Expect the parts when I almost died.

I've made friends I never would have if I stayed with my father. These friends are ones I will never forget.

The others kept pestering me and Ty to get in the water. I didn't want to get my hair wet. However, the reason why Ty was hesitant to get in the water was one I couldn't tell.

"Come on, dude. I saw you fight a bird demon and you're afraid of getting wet", Jason jabbed at him.

Ty scoffed at him before responding," I'm not afraid. I just don't want too."

"Sure", Jason mocked.

"Alright, fine", Ty declared as he stood up.

In one swift motion, he took off his shirt over his head.

I bit my tongue to stop myself from gasping at the sight before me.

Ty was what you would call ripped. Mega toned six-pack all. This wasn't a surprise.

What surprised me was the seemingly countless number of scars on his body.

Some were small and fine. Others were long and broad.

The others stared as well, but what seemed to bother Ty the most was the two children and their mother.

The children stare at Ty their mouth agape and eyes shown with fear and curiously. Their mother quickly grabbed them and pulled them away and out the door.

As the door closed with a loud bang Ty jumped into the pool sorrowfully. The water hiding his scars.

There was a moment of silence between all of us. I stood up and cannonballed into the pool slashing all of them hoping to break the silence.

When I resurface they were all laughing.
