the doctor said,

and all I could do

was stare at the ground.

"if you want to get better elliot, you have to eat"

I shook my head at this.

"i'm already better"

But she only stared me down.

"no you're not"

"you're killing yourself"

Her words made me smile

and I finally looked up.

"if i'm killing myself,

how come i've never felt more alive"

She couldn't answer.

Because I was right.

I'll be fine.
