"it's your turn elliot"
my teacher said,
and I took in a deep breath
before standing up
and walking
to the front of the class.
After turning on my music
from the teacher's computer,
I sat down on the floor,
staring at the class's blank faces.
I saw you, too,
eyes cutting through me.
It was then I began.
One movement
to another.
More in a rhythmic pattern
as I pointed my toes
and stealthily rose
from the dirty floor.
Moments ticked by
and my pace
slowly quickened.
You guys were mesmerized,
enchanted,
by my fluid choreography.
A smile grazed my face
as I twirled and twirled
remembering my younger years
of being a ballerina.
My piece seemed happy so far,
and everyone's hate for me,
seemed to disappear.
Just for that moment.
But soon,
anger consumed me
for you all's ignorance,
and suddenly
I stopped my movements.
My breathing got heavy
and my anger merged into fear.
I was looking around me,
horror clouding my face
as I buckled from the invisible forces
of punches and kicks
being blown
to my stomach.
It was silent now.
I collapsed.
Gasps and murmurs echoed around the room
before I jerked my head up.
The quiet air soon filled up the room.
Pain spread across my face,
my emotions so vivid,
and so raw,
allowing all of you to get a glimpse
of what it felt like
to live my life.
On shaky legs,
I stood up
almost rocking back and forth
like a drunk.
I locked gazes with you
as my body shuddered
and twitched from side to side.
I crouched down,
hands gripping the side of my head
and blocking out all noise
as my eyes shut tightly.
My mouth moved in silent conversation
before I stealthily rose to my toes,
Advertisement
opening my eyes
and reaching for the sky.
My face showed one of awe,
happiness and joy,
before slipping into defeat,
sadness and pain.
My hands reached down to clutch air.
Curiosity still painted everyone's faces
as I stared at the class head on.
My fingers reached above my head
and seemed to dance in a matter,
like tying a pair of shoelaces.
A frown settled on my face
as I brought my hand down over my head,
as if putting on a scarf
on a cold winter's day.
Tears filled my eyes,
and slight shivers went through my body.
You guys looked confused.
But you shouldn't be.
Or at least,
you wouldn't be.
Soon,
it'll all make sense.
I'm sure of it.
And so I lifted my legs and arms in the air;
one foot going up,
one hand going down,
over and over,
until I stood normally.
I looked at you again,
curiosity showing on your face.
And just as you parted your lips open,
I jumped,
jerking my head up,
and struggling.
My hands grabbed at the invisible ropes,
my legs thrashed and kicked,
until suddenly,
I wasn't moving,
eyes glazed.
I was a speck of dust
in a whole football stadium.
Everyone was speechless,
just like I wanted.
And as I returned to my normal state,
I gave a single nod,
before walking back to my seat,
grabbing my books,
and leaving the class
just as the bell rang.
Tears glistened in my eyes,
but I'm fine
I'm fine
I'll be fine.
| I am freaking out guys... 101K reads. I'm in shock, really. And I, I'm hyperventilating right now. I'm, I'm *breathe in, breathe out* *breath in, breathe out* AHHHH!!! This is amazing guys! I'm seriously so happy right now! Thanks for giving my writing a chance. Without every single one of you here now, I wouldn't be feeling this way now. So thanks for that =) And because of all these reads, I think I'll just have to give you all a treat....

And for all the ones who are apologizing and asking if I need anyone to talk to, thank you for caring. But like I said before guys, I'm one of the lucky ones. Please go back to the first chapter and read the author's note in . You all don't have to worry about me. Life's good. And it might be unfair and challenging, but once you make the best out of it, it's all good (for me at least). I appreciate the concern, though. I feel the love
Also, I will try to find time to respond to the rest of you alls comments, but it's getting late and I've got a busy day tomorrow as long as the weeks after. So I'll probably start doing it chapter by chapter before starting over again and etc.
And happy belated birthday to @klumash39! I hope your day was filled with fun and love!
Don't log out too quickly though. As for the surprise, since you've all been good, loyal readers, stay on the look out for another chapter in a few moments ;) |

Beast
A threat to the galaxy has come from another, and the Union of intelligent life will go to any length to stop it. Military Quarantine has held for hundreds of thousands of cycles. Traders, merchants, colonists, and Pirates live risky lives along the fringes as the politics from the inner systems fail to see the larger threats beyond their borders. A lone human finds himself far from home with no memories to how he arrived. A failing Trade vessel plays on a desperate gamble, while a malicious parasite searches for a suitable host. ............................................. Author's note: Beast is a story that I wrote a long, long time ago. Some of you might have read it then, back when it was posted on reddit over at r/HFY. It was my first webfiction and made in the spirit of that subreddit's "genre" of humanity being awesome. But, it is also a story that has bothered me a little bit. Just like most new writers tend to do, I made mistakes and errors that feel painful to reread. A Space Opera will be a Space Opera, but I had prose that makes present-me cringe. Still, at the same time, the story is still very much a tale I've never given up on. It was my first adventure into fiction: Beast was a crazy adventure with bodysnatching aliens, galactic war, threats from across the universe... Posting this story here is a way to try and redeem myself a bit. I won't call it a complete rewrite, because it's not, but I have wanted to go through and correct some of the major issues Beast has for a long time and put it somewhere more accessible to read (instead of as posts/comments on reddit) and I figure that now is as good a time as any. Additional corrections you might notice are welcome.

Chains of Dominion
If Jake wins the local Fantasy Tactics Online tournament, he’ll have everything he’s ever dreamed of — a ticket out of town and the attention of a beautiful woman. However, this woman has more planned for him than a bus ride to the local metropolis. She teleports him back to her Realm and declares him her Master… and says it’s up to him to save the world. No pressure. Rival Dominions vie for power, and they are all far larger and more organized than Jake’s rag-tag group of women, but he has two advantages: the rules of this world are eerily similar to those of Fantasy Tactics Online, and his wildest dirtiest sexual fantasies act as a power multiplier for his all-female army. Warning: The heroes have intense tactical battles, wild kinky sex, and near-constant flirtation. The villains are disturbing and cruel. If the idea of villains doing bad things bothers you, please do not read books ever, but especially don’t read this one.

The Fall
Perhaps the most well known of all devils, demons, or fallen angels is the one known as Lucifer, Satan, the Father of Lies. The cultural influence of this figure throughout history is by no means small. Despite that, it wasn’t until the time of Milton’s classic – Paradise Lost – that we saw an attempt to portray a dramatized version of the events leading to this figure’s fall from grace and power. And while this is the case, Paradise Lost is not about Lucifer – though it goes into great detail about his potential musings. No, Paradise Lost was, and still is, about the fall of mankind. So, in light of this, and the feeling that the classical story deserved another telling, I present to you all The Fall – a story focused particularly on Lucifer’s fall from grace and his musings both before and after.
