《Soulmates | S.M.》20

It's been a while since I was able to spend Valentine's Day with a Valentine. With Alana here, I wanted to make sure that today was going to be perfect. I planned the whole day to be filled with fun surprises and heaps of love.
I had a bunch of red roses and rose petals sent to the condo. When they arrived, I signed the bill then put the vase of red roses on the kitchen counter, bringing the box of rose petals upstairs with me to the bedroom. It was pretty early so Alana was still sleeping, the white comforter covering her body. I opened the box and started scattering the roses on the bed, then the floor, leading it to the bathtub. I placed candles around the tub, putting the bubble bath on the counter near the tub.
I went into the studio room to grab the huge, soft brown teddy bear I bought the other day, along with the box of chocolates. I walked back into the bedroom putting them on the bed next to Alana.
Going back downstairs, I went to the living room, turned on the television, and waited for Alana to wake up.
I feel like every single time I wake up, the sun is in my eyes, but it wasn't today because Shawn decided to close the curtains. Bless that man's soul. I rolled a little to the left so I could cuddle him, but all I felt was a furry, lumpy object along with some crinkling of plastic. I opened my eyes a little wider and saw that there were rose petals scattered all over the bed, going down, and leading to the bathroom.
I sat up, rubbing my eyes, then looked at the scene in front of me. On the bed where Shawn usually slept was a large, light brown teddy bear and in front of it was a box of chocolates in the shape of a heart. I got up from the bed, following the trail of rose petals into the bathroom, and saw that Shawn set up a bath for me, bubbles on the counter next to the tub.
I decided to go look for him, walking out of the bathroom, into the bedroom, and out into the hallway, going down the stairs.
I heard soft footsteps walking down the staircase and looked over, seeing Alana, wearing my pastel yellow hoodie as a dress, walking towards me with a warm smile on her face.
"Happy Valentine's Day, love" She said, placing her legs on opposites sides of me and sitting on my lap. She ran her fingers through my hair, bringing her hands to my cheeks, then planting a soft, passionate kiss against my lips.
"Happy Valentine's Day, honey" I smiled into the kiss.
Alana put her hands on my shoulders and rubbed my arms. "This tank top looks really good on you" She smirked.
I chuckled. "Thank you" I was wearing a loose- fitted, striped purple tank top.
"Did you see the surprise I made for you?"

She smiled at me. "Yes, I love the teddy bear, the chocolates, and the bath" She put her hands on my chest then slid them to the back of my neck. "I was thinking that you" She paused, staring passionately into my eyes. "Should come with"
"In the bath?"
She nodded her head. "Mhm"
I wonder where all this feistiness is coming from. I smiled at her. "Alright" She got up from my lap, stretching out her hand for me to take it. I got up, following her up the stairs and into the bathroom. I turned on the water, adding in the bubbles and ended up putting a little too much. The bubbles began to expand at a rapid speed but not enough to overflow the tub.
We took off our clothes, getting into the tub. I was rested on on side of the bathtub while Alana's back rested on my chest. I slid my hands around her stomach, her hands placed on top of mine. She turned her head around to look at me. "I love you" She softly smiled.
"I love you more" I replied, planting small kisses on her shoulders.
After about thirty minutes, Alana and I got out of the tub and I told her to wear something fancy. She went to the closet to find something while I put on some dressy black pants, a white button up, and a black jacket to match the pants, along with a black bowtie.
Looking at the mirror, I adjusted the bowtie then saw Alana walk out of the bathroom, My heart dropped a little at the sight of her. I turned around.
Her dark brown hair was in loose curls, she was wearing a long, maroon dress with a v-neck type thing, and a slit at the bottom half of the dress so you could see one of her legs. She placed her hands on her hips, allowing her ring to sparkle in the sunlight.
My breathing hitched. "Wow"
She smiled at me, then all of a sudden, her face lit up. "I have something for you" She walked over to her dresser drawer next to the bed and pulled out a small, black velvet box.
"I've been thinking about getting you this for a while now. And I know how much you love rings" She walked up to me, opening the box so I could see what was inside. There was a silver ring that look to be made up of two arrows. She pulled it out and showed it to me, then took my left hand and placed it on my ring finger. "Hopefully. Some day. It would be replaced by a wedding ring"
I put my hands around her waist, pulling her in for a hug. "I love it. Thank you, honey"
As Shawn drove the car to our destination, his right hand was enclosed on my left, his thumb fiddling with my ring. "Can you pleaseeee tell me where we're going?"
He took a quick glance at me, smiling. "Excited, eh? You'll just have to wait and see"

After driving for about an hour, Shawn parked the car in the parking lot of a hiking trail. "Love?" I said as Shawn took the keys out of the ignition.
"Yeah?"
"I don't think my shoes are appropriate enough for hiking" I was wearing black high heels.
"It's alright. If all else fails, I'll just carry you" He got out of the car, running to the other side to open the door for me.
"Wait. So we're really going hiking?"
"Only for about five minutes" He put his hand out and I took it, letting him lead the way. The gravel and dirt on the heels of my feet made it difficult to walk but it sure was rewarding. We stopped at a large tree and Shawn pulled out a blindfold from his inner jacket pocket. "Put this on" He said, handing it to me.
"Are you sure you aren't trying to kill me"
"Ha ha" He said, sarcastically. I put on the blindfold and allowed him to lead me to wherever we were going.
After walking for, what it feels like, five hours, Shawn stopped me. "Alright. Here we are" His hands brushed my hair to my back, then he untied the blindfold. My eyes took time to adjust to the brightness of the sun but what I saw was absolutely special. At the edge of the woods, next to a lake, there was a large canopy that had a variety of rose surrounding it, lights hanging from the roof of the canopy, and in the middle, a table setting for two.
"Shawn" I was breathless.
"Do you like it?"
"It's beautiful" He took my hand, leading me to the table, pulled out the chair for me, and allowed me to sit down. He went over to the opposite side, sitting down on his chair. He pulled out his phone from his pocket, lifting it up so the camera was facing me. I outstretched my hand, covering the camera, giggling.
"Heyyy. Let me take a picture of you. You're gorgeous" I smiled at him, putting my hands on my lap, and allowed him to take pictures of me.
Out of nowhere, a man wearing a fancy waiter outfit comes up to our table under the canopy and places a bottle of apple cider. "Your food will be here shortly" He said, then walked away.
I looked at Shawn, opening my mouth. "Was that" I pointed to his direction. "Was that supposed to happen?"
"Yeah" Shawn chuckled.
"Where exactly did he come from?" I asked, skeptical.
"There's a kitchen near this area. I hired people to cook food for us"
"Oh! That makes sense. I thought he was just a random guy from the middle of the woods"
"That would be concerning"
"It sure would" I giggled. Shawn picked up the bottle of apple cider, facing the label towards me.
"I know you don't drink alcohol. So, I got something kid-friendly"
"Aww. Thanks for considering me"
He chuckled again, pouring the apple cider into our glasses.
------
Shawn and I ate our food in the quietness of the woods, the only noise coming from the chirping of the birds. After we ate and talked for a little while, Shawn said, "I have something for you"
He reached from under his chair, pulling out a medium-sized black velvet box. He opened it, revealing a necklace with a thin, diamond heart. I put my hands towards my heart, in awe. "Shawn. You didn't have to"
He put the box down, reaching for my hands, and rested them on the table. "I know I didn't have to but I wanted to. These past seven months that we've been together seemed to be really rushed in the beginning but I knew that we were going at the right pace. I wanted to thank you for everything you've done. Dealing with paparazzi, being kind to the fans, taking care of me after I got drunk on New Year's"
I let out a small laugh after he said this. He continued, "This ring on your finger" He paused to wiggle it with his thumb. "I want to replace it one day. With an engagement ring that will eventually lead me to calling you my wife"
At this point, my heart was bursting with passion, tears starting to form in my eyes. A single tear left my right eye and Shawn put his hand on my cheek, wiping it away. He let go of my hands, grabbing the necklace box again, pulling it out, then standing up to go behind me. While he was putting it around my neck, he continued, "Once we're ready to get married and all, this necklace will hold that ring on your finger. So you don't have to stop wearing it if you don't want to"
He went back to his seat and I looked down to watch the necklace sparkle in the setting sun. I looked back at Shawn, speechless. He stared back at me, shooting me a soft smile. "What do you think?" He whispered.
"I love you"
"I love you more, honey"
Shawn and I spent the rest our time eating dessert, listening to music and singing along, just the normal stuff that makes me happy to be with him. The sun had now set, replaced with the moon. Shawn grabbed a blanket, setting it down on the ground under the night sky. He lied down and motioned me to lay with him.
He rested one arm under his head, the other arm holding me. My right arm was on his chest, looking up at the stars. "They're beautiful, aren't they?" Shawn spoke up.
"Mhm"
"They remind me of your ring when we're outside and the sun hits it at just the right angle"
I looked from the sky to him and he looked at me, staring deeply into my eyes. His eyes moved from mine to my lips as he slowly moved in, planting a soft kiss onto them.
