"So, he took you to a field, opened up to you, kissed you, but didn't ask you to be his girlfriend?" Alison said as she grabbed a book of my vanity. Alison came over today since we haven't talked in a while. I guess you can say she's been busy with Alejandro. He finally manned up and asked her to be his girlfriend, and of course Alison said yes.

"Yes, but it's not a bad thing. I mean I'm not expecting him to ask me anytime soon, it was just the heat of the moment." I mumbled not wanting to accept the fact that I was sort of upset. It's not that I wanted him to ask me right then and there but it's been a few days and he still hasn't asked.

"Well, I thought he would've asked you by now, I mean the way he stares at you it seems like he has claimed you," she laughs but it's cut short by the pillow I throw at her. "Oh please, Alejandro barely ask-"

"But it didn't take us an eternity to kiss," she cuts me off. I rolled my eyes knowing she's right.

It's no rush, after everything he uncovered at the field I understand if he wants a little time to himself. I can't ever imagine losing Christopher, even if we aren't on the best terms right now I would never want him to be gone. It must be hard for Mateo, he lost his best friend and didn't get to say a final goodbye.

I didn't tell Alison about that, I told her that we opened up to each other, kissed, and that's about it. It's not my place to say his business and I hope he does the same in return.

"Sooooo do we have anything planned today?" I ask Alison since she usually comes up with the plans. "Hmmmm nope, there's nothing to doooo," she exaggerates while I groan and roll onto my stomach and plant my face down onto my pillow.

It's the weekend and we have nothing to do.

*beep*

"Is that your phone or my phone?" I muffle into the pillow. "Mine," she responds. It's quiet for a minute until Alison's nails start tapping on her phone. "GREAT NEWS!," she exclaims loudly. I look up from the pillow and raise an eyebrow at her. "Alejandro and the boys are going bowling and they invited us. So get up and let's get ready, Alejandro is coming in thirty minutes," she grinned.

After twenty minutes of doing our hair, deciding on what to wear, and singing along to my playlist, we are ready to go. I'm wearing a light pink long sleeve, ripped jeans, and my white Nikes. Alison is wearing a black short sleeve, blue jeans, and her checkerboard Vans. I personally think we look cute and casual.

"He's outside Vero, come on let's go," she grabs my hand and rushes me out of the door. Thankfully I already had everything I needed in my hand.

When we're outside we see Alejandro's car parked in front. Alison waits for me to lock the front door so I won't walk alone to the car. Once I'm done we start walking to the car and I can tell Alison is excited to see Alejandro.

"Hey Ali," Alejandro grinned while turning down the volume of the stereo. "Hey Ale," Ali responds and her cheeks turn bright pink. I get in the car and buckle myself up, and wait silently while Alison talks to Alejandro.

"Hey Veronica," Alejandro turns around and smiles. "Hey, thank you for inviting us." I politely tell him while he puts the car into drive. "No worries, I'm sure the boys are excited yall are coming. I know for a fact Mateo is happy you're coming," he teased while driving down the street.

My cheeks warmed up instantly and I turned to look out the window. The rest of the ride was quiet with music playing at a good volume. Ali and Alejandro would occasionally talk but other than that the ride was calm.

About fifteen minutes later we arrived at the bowling alley. It didn't seem that packed which was good. "Adam and Mateo got us a lane already," Ale said while grabbing Ali's hand. They walked into the building first while I was a few feet behind them. I didn't want to seem like a third wheel...unfortunately I couldn't avoid it.

"VERONICA! OVER HERE," I smile at the familiar voice and look up, Adam is standing waving his arms around like a crazy person. He's so energetic for no reason. Every morning in school he always has a smile on his face and is always talking. It's not a bad thing, sometimes I wish I was as social as him.

I wave back at him and start walking up to the lane. When I get there I am engulfed in a pair of arms and get picked up off the floor. "ADAM! PUT ME DOWN!" I yell and he puts me down instantly. "Sorry Veronica, I was just excited to see you," he says with an innocent smile plastered onto his face.

I look around trying to find Mateo but I can't find him. "He's in the restroom," Adam smirks. I clear my throat and blush. "Who?" I question hoping he didn't notice me looking for Mateo. "Oh come on," he lightly nudges me. "You know who you're looking for," I push him back and walk up to put my name on the screen.

While typing my name, I start praying to the Lord hoping I won't embarrass myself. I'm pretty decent at bowling but I've seen too many videos online where people accidentally fall. Once I'm down I turn around and see Mateo sitting down, staring at me. My cheeks heat up and I feel myself smile. He smiles back at me and waves me to sit down next to him.

"Hey V," he says as I sit down. He looks handsome like always. His hair looks slightly brushed and fluffy, he's wearing a short sleeve white shirt which shows off his tattoos, black jeans, and his white Nikes. He always looks cute. He could be covered in dirt and I still would think he is the most handsome guy I've seen.

"Hello Mateo," I smiled. Before we can continue the conversation Adam speaks up. "Okay everyone, we all know how this works. Now ladies, I did not know your shoe sizes so you'll have to go and get them. Sorry I should've asked but I kind of forgot," Adam chuckled once he finished.

"Come on, I'll go with you," Mateo grabs my hand and pulls me up. We walk hand in hand to get me some shoes, it feels nice holding hands with him. I mean we've done it before but there's this different feeling. Maybe it was because before we didn't talk about our actual feelings and now that we have it feels like we're free.

We arrive at the shoe area and there's a guy around our age working. He looks up from his phone and looks at me, a smirk appears on his face and I just stare back at him in confusion. "How can I help you today?" He asks me and puts his phone in his pocket. "Uhh I need a size seven please," I muttered. "Anything for a pretty girl like you," he turns to grab the shoes.

Mateo sends a glare to the guy once he turns around, I smile at the fact that he seems jealous. The guy turns and sets the shoes in front of me, I let go of Mateo's hand and reach for the shoes. As I'm about to say thank you the guy beats me to it. "How about I take you out and show you a good time?" He commented and I was taken aback from the questions.

"I- Well, ummm"

"She can't, she has plans," Mateo cuts in and wraps an arm around my waist pulling me into his side. I look up and see a serious look on his face. Looking back at the guy in front of us, I see him smiling. That's weird, if I were him I would've been intimidated to the max. Mateo doesn't have a very friendly face when he's serious.

"Ahhh you're her boyfriend," he smacks his lips. "I should've known," he continues smiling and he looks as if he's trying to hold in a laugh.

"Yeah you should've," Mateo accused and turned us around towards the other direction. He doesn't remove his arm from around my waist as we continue walking back to the lane.

He agreed he was my boyfriend but still hasn't asked me out. This is not going unnoticed.

"Boyfriend? I didn't know you were my boyfriend," looking up I see a smile on his face. "Well, sweetheart, if you think about it in your head, we are already dating," I frown at his response. Well what is that supposed to mean am I single am I not.

As I'm thinking Mateo stops walking and pulls me back. "It means I'm your boyfriend and you're my girlfriend, I'm mean after all we did open up to each other."

"But you didn't ask me, that's pretty much the whole point you know," I say as he lightly laughs.

"Okay okay," he clears his throat. "Veronica would you like to be my girlfriend?"

He looks at me confused as I burst into a fit of laughter. He really thought I was serious. That is too funny. "Mateo I was just playing," I say while laughing. "But yes," I stop laughing instantly and look up at him. "I would very much like to be your girlfriend. Now come on their waiting for us." Dragging him towards the rest of the group, I sit down and put on my shoes. Mateo sits next to me with a smile on his face.

"Woah, Adam look, Mateo is smiling, you know what that means," Alejandro says while rubbing his hands together. Adam looks up from his phone and smiles. "You guys are officially together right?" He questions and I turn to look at Mateo.

"Yes, now let's start this game." Mateo stands and grabs a bowling ball.

I guess I'm not single any more.
