《Incandescent》Chapter 1

Something prodded into my forehead repeatedly. My hazy mind tried to push it away, desperate to fall back into a deep slumber but it wasn't working.
"Scorch cheese pies," I mumble allowing oblivion to wash over me again as I fall back asleep.
A cold hand then pinches my cheek forcefully. I groan and try to move my face away from the coldness.
"Jaffer your muffin," I growl and turn my head away. I just needed to sleep.
"Rose were in class not a chocolate factory" I hear my friend Lisa say. That woke me up. I snapped my head up and opened my eyes to find myself asleep against the window in my maths class.
"What?" I mumble as I look around in fear to make sure nobody noticed my nap. Luckily everyone was minding their own business and doing their work. My classmates would all have a field day with if they ever knew I feel asleep in class.
"You were talking in your sleep again, although before you weren't talking about strange foods that I have never heard of," Lisa remarked with a raise of her eyebrow.
I felt my heat jump in my chest and heat washed through me as panic gripped my insides.
"Crap was I?" I gasp and my eyes widen as I remember the dream I was just having. I can't believe I had a nightmare in the middle of class.
"Something about blood," she explained with her eyebrows knitted together in concern. In panic I glance around again to make sure nobody noticed and they all seemed to be oblivious. Relief flowed through me and I was once again grateful for my friend for being here.
"Thanks for waking me," I smile. She just still stares at me concerned.

"You have some seriously creepy dreams," she shivers.
"I know," I deadpan, I was well aware of my constant nightmares.
"The only scary dreams I get are about my mother dressing me up in that horrid grandma dress, it's horrifying."
"Sounds horrifying," I agree.
"So what are you going to do about Sarah?" she asks hesitantly.
I groan as I try not to think about Sarah, my bully.
"Hope I fall into a pit of dying monkeys on my way to my locker," I admitted as I flop my head onto my desk. Lisa pats my head in condolence.
"Hum, I'm with you on that one. I will pray for that to happen," she exclaimed and I don't think she was even joking.
"Thanks you're a true friend."
The bell rings for the end of class and the end of school. I squeeze my eyes shut as I think about what is to come.
*
A hard shove out of nowhere pushed me back so I whacked into my locker. Unfortunately no pit of dying monkeys came to save me. Sarah found me.
"You better stay away," Sarah shrieked at me so I was now backed against my locker with her body boxing me in. She was taller than me so I had to look up at her snivelling face. She seemed to enjoy this as she smirked at me. She leaned her abnormally large lips to my ear and I felt her disgustingly cold breath in my ear.
"Or else," she threatened. I tired to turn my head away from her but she grabbed my chin forcefully and yanked my face so I was looking straight at her, our faces inches apart. I glared at her with all the hate I could muster. It didn't affect her at all; I could only see the sadistic enjoyment in her eyes. Her grubby hands tightened around my chin as she squeezed painfully.

I refused to make a sound to elicit the reaction she wanted from me. When I didn't do anything she just smirked and let me go but not without a small push so my head hit the back of my locker. Her two friends laughed at me as they followed their evil friend. The cowards. I looked around at those few people around who just stood around watching and I felt humiliation run through me.
I was left with my back moulded to my locker in a state of shock, my muscles refusing to move. That was the first time that Sarah had physically hurt me, well on purpose that is.
I snapped myself out of it. I need to get out of here. I turned around grabbed what I needed from my locker and then slammed it shut. I stormed down the corridor and out of this hell whole as I thought about why this all happened to me.
Sarah used to be one of my best friends and so was her boyfriend who she was just talking about. I used to be good friends with him too but not anymore and I forcefully was paired with him in a project today. I don't think Sarah really even cared that much about our paring because she knows that her boyfriend hates me she just as must as she does.
She just wants any excuse to hurt me, to bully me. And because she was the most popular girl in the school, the rest of the student body followed her lead. Sarah was beautiful there was no denying, she had waist long black hair that was always perfectly styled. She had an African descent so her exotic beauty drew the eyes of anyone who looked at her. But her beauty on the outside did not reflect how she was on the inside.
We all stopped being friends our second year of high school when I did something unforgivable to them. People liked to avoid talking to me because it just made them a target too. But luckily Lisa didn't mind the bullying; she said she was just happy to have a friend. So she is all I have and I was so incredibly grateful for her.
But the bullying was always constant and sometimes it is maddening.
My anxiety was sated as I remembered that I have the whole night ahead of me completely free from them and their taunting. But then reignited again as I remembered that another crap thing was about to ruin my day.
Today was the day where I am going to meet my new housemate.

Technically Abroad
This is the story about Victor who is Technically Abroad and how he is adjusting to this one simple fact. Going to college is a hard time for a lot of people. You just became an adult in society’s eyes, but people still treat you like a kid. A year ago you might have had to ask for permission to use the bathroom, but now you can vote, legally buy most things and work, marry, etc. Even if some people still treat you like a kid. So in the simplest non-spoilery terms, this story is about Victor finding himself in a world that isn’t his, with a lot of rules that weren’t given to him upon arrival. Instead, he has to take the cards he was dealt and do the best that he can, even though he never asked to be part of this game that turned into his life. He has to just hope he can live up to his name. This story will be one that can be found in its entirety here, but thanks to multiple people asking the story to be put here it will be, albeit with a delay compared to the main site. Nexus
Not a real reincarnation. Welcome to Nexus. A place where the multiverse intersects. Chris Garcia was trying to do the right thing for his sibling when he is shot and killed. Instead of his soul moving on to the next life. He is given another opportunity. Well of course he takes it. Or there will be no story. He gets some ability then dumped into the Nexus. He has much to learn, lucky for him, his ability brings him allies so he won’t die so quickly. (This is my attempt to improve my writing skill. Constuctive criticism are highly welcome) *Note: Some things will develop fast. Other will be a slow burner. Tags will be added as I progress the story. (Honestly, I have no idea where this story is going anymore). Please don't rate this story yet. Give me till 100 chapter to figure out what I'm doing haha. If I can simply entertain some of the readers, that's enough for me. Thanks for taking the time to read! I decide to not edit past chapters. Only touch up on grammers if I get around to it. I want to see the progression of my writing skill.
