"Over here is the dining room" Katakuri announced
'What the heck!? The table! It doesn't end!!!' You gawked "I-It's so...grand!"
"It's quite chaotic when the whole family is here" he retorted.
"I can only imagine" you let out an airy chuckle as you marveled at the interior "This room over here is gigantic"
" (Y/n)...that's a hallway" Katakuri deadpanned
"Oh..." you flushed in embarrassment.
It was quite the honor to say that you had been to whole cake island, but it was a true privilege to tour the castle of a Yonko, even if it wasn't your favorite Yonko. Unfortunately, your lack of experience of living in luxury was beginning to show, and you couldn't stop your embarrassment from showing. Despite your differences in upbringing, Katakuri was incredibly patient; answering all your questions, waiting for you to finish talking, and correcting you only when necessary.
"Katakuri, I know that the nurse said that I need to take it easy, but you do realize I am still capable of walking" you muttered through a blush.
"There is no point in arguing (Y/n)" Katakuri stated "I've already seen multiple outcomes where you fall over and we are almost at our destination"
One part of you wanted to protest but the other knew better and kept your mouth shut, after all, he wasn't wrong. Yes, after being released by the nurse, she informed you that you should be careful and take it easy. As such, Katakuri took it upon himself to ensure your safety whilst in his care, and though the thought was quite endearing, you forgot how strong Katakuri's sense of efficiency was. He'd made sure to carry you around in his arms since getting a wheelchair was too much of a hassle in his eyes. Instead of sitting on his highly defined arms while resting your head on his extremely fluffy scarf was far more suitable for your weak hearted self.
'please note the sarcasm'
The sound of music slowly drifted into your ears and as you both rounded the last corner the doors heaved open as you entered a large circular room. Windows lined one half of the room allowing the natural light to illuminate everything on display, not a cloud in the sky. In the middle was a large grand piano and to the side was a range of instruments propped up against the wall. Hanging from the ceiling were a few flower pots holding some plants. But the reason you were here was that-
"(Y/n)!"
"Big Brother Katakuri!"
"(Y/n)! You actually came!"
In a short time, you and Katakuri were surrounded by a pool of sparkly-eyed children, all of them crying out your names in delight much to Galette's dismay
"Guys we haven't finished yet!" she reminded which earned her a collective bunch of sighs and complaints
Katakuri placed you down so you could give the kids some attention. You were currently in the Charlotte family music room. Apparently, big mum was heavily invested in musical entertainment and so she made sure that her entire family was capable of mastering one instrument and voice lessons.

"Sorry for the intrusion Galette" you chuckled an apology "I made a pinky promise so I had to stop by"
Before Galette could even respond to your statement; one of the children stole your attention again, forcing Katakuri to console his sulking younger sister.
"(Y/n)! (Y/n)! Are you going to stay and watch!?" One of the twins pried
"Sadly no, Katakuri said I can only stay for a little as he has a lot planned" you chuckled as you threw the large man under a double-decker bus.
'try and get out of that one unscathed' you snickered childishly to yourself.
"Well, if Katakuri says so . . . " They all reasoned as they turned to their siblings.
'WHAT WELL BEHAVED CHILDREN!!!' you gaped
Katakuri must've known exactly what you were doing because as soon as you turned to see his reaction, you noticed he had a proud yet mischievous glint in his eye. It was something that was missed by most people in the room but you knew exactly what it was saying:
'nice try'
Katakuri: 12
(Y/n):8
'I want to be mad but I'm just in too much awe' You sulked 'I should seriously stop keeping score'
"You're wearing it still" a little voice chirped
Looking down, you faced two crimson red eyes. Anana had already taken your hand, beaming at the beautifully made flower crown resting on top of your head.
"Of course! With a crown like this, even royalty would be jealous" You gave her hand a quick squeeze, being royalty herself she didn't deny herself a good laugh.
Again you were swamped by a mob of children.
"(Y/n)!" Galette called, interrupting the bombardment. "Seen as how you're here, why not give a quick demonstration? Anana and Pudding have been giving you and Alivia high praise for your voices, so why not let the kids play while you sing?"
'I'm sorry what?' you're face blanked.
"Really!? (Y/n)!? Are you gonna sing with us?" Anana's eyes were practically beacons to the North Pole from the way they were glowing.
"Ah-Ahh! Well you see-" you began
"That would make this lesson a lot more interesting!" Flampé chuckled.
"And! And! dumb!" Anglais grinned
'Pardon? Who are you calling dumb?'
"You mean 'fun' Anglais" Pudding corrected already heading off for an instrument
'Oh, that makes more sense'
"U-Uh, but I-!" you looked to Katakuri for help and he seemed to understand
"I too would like to see that" Katakuri's voice resonated through the room. "I missed your other performance"
'Oh, well, forget you too' you huffed
"It wasn't a performance" You sighed as you eyed the Pudding in the distance "it was a lesson that was well overdue"
Right now it was you against the Charlottes and the odds weren't exactly on your side, but before you could even get another word out they pulled out the big guns.
"Well, I guess it would be wrong to inconvenience you with these children" Galette began.

'inconvenience?' you gave an appalled look
"And you're so busy it would probably just be a waste of time"
'A waste of-!'
"But don't worry (Y/n), I'm sure these kids won't be too heartbroken and think you're showing favoritism because you won't help them" Galette concluded
There was an unnatural amount of teary-eyed children in the room bearing in mind that some of them have only said 'hi' to you once. Clearly, they were all well-practiced in the art of guilt-tripping recognizing a good setup when they heard one. Any poor sucker would cave in under the pressure. Fortunately, you were both poor, and a sucker.
'Curse you guilt-tripping' you sobbed internally with clenched fists 'you're like my best friend yet arch nemeses.......'
"You're all evil, I hope you know that" you breathed as you raised your hands in surrender "one song and that's it"
"ALRIGHT!!!" the children shouted a bit too happily
'so much for the poor children' you thought bitterly.
"Here's what we've been practicing (y/n)! Think you can manage it?" Pudding placed the music sheets in your hands.
"You don't have to worry about me young lady" you winked "let's show them what we're made of"
The children ran off to their respective instruments, some of which you couldn't even put a name to.
It was strange to hear them all warm-up, and then you realized why. The plants were singing from the hanging baskets trying to find euphony among all the instruments. As soon as everyone was in unison Galette clapped her hands once, sound completely in her grasp. Anana was the first to break the silence with her ... with some sort of instrument which formed the melody of the song. Glancing over at pudding, you caught her eyes momentarily almost hopeful, and that hope inspired you. From that point on you were just voicing the feelings in your heart. You just sang.
Surprisingly the plants sounded a lot like string and wind instruments, but what was more surprising was the fact that Flampe was directing them as the head violinist. Pudding's fingers twitched over the ebony and ivory keys eager to assist her siblings while the twins were itching to play their parts. Soon other children started to join in with their instruments, allowing the song to build up and giving you a little more confidence to keep singing. In your mind, it was easy to envision the special people in your life who'd entangled you into your own wondrous symphony. Everything was coming together.
By the second verse, you were already walking with a bounce in your step as you made your way to the center of the room. Some plants were now singing your echo while the twins went wild on the drums. During your journey to the middle, you'd somehow picked up Galette who decided to be your harmony. The two of you now spinning around on the glossy ballroom floors, enjoying the feeling of being apart of something much bigger than yourselves.
Unbeknownst to you, a crowd was starting to form. At first, it was just Katakuri, but then Alivia, who could sense stardom from a mile away, found you instantly with Compote in close pursuit. Perospero, who was passing by, decided to see what all the commotion was about. Soon after, Smoothie and Cracker who were discussing "Sweet General business" went in search of Katakuri, but instead found this much more entertaining. Oven and Rasin entered after and soon Daifuku entered the scene. All this occurred without your knowledge.
You sang the chorus for the final time twirling Galette and vice versa. All the children (and plants) were having a blast free-styling. Anana seemed especially proud of her melody, playing each note with intention whereas Pudding couldn't seem to get rid of her smile even if she wanted to. When the song finally ended the sudden applause and praise made you scream, but in your defense, some of the people that were clapping and whistling seemed like giants to you.
'when did you all get here?' you thought in horror
"Very impressive! Very impressive indeed pero-lick!" Perospero clapped
"That was absolutely magnificent!" Compoté applauded
"Wow! What a performance!" Oven cheered "that was incredible!"
"Who knew the little girl had a pair of lungs!" cracker chuckled
"Of course she does!" Liv confirmed proudly "I taught her everything she knows"
'Ah! Typical Liv finding a way to claim the spotlight' you smiled and shook your head
"(Y/n)!!!"
"Ye-HUWAAAAAGGHH!" you wheezed.
Now in hindsight that should've been a warning for your bodily organs to brace themselves for impact. Unfortunately, your brain did not put two and two together in time and so when you were squashed by a flock of children there was no one to blame but yourself.
"That was so awesome!"
"Did you see my amazing skills!?"
"If I wasn't before, I must certainly be the cutest little sister now!"
"That was so much fun!"
"The best we ever sounded!"
"Weren't we awesome (Y/n)?!"
"You guys were incredible but I still need air..." you groaned
In the corner of your eye, you could see Anana trying desperately to shove her siblings off of you but failing miserably. It made your heart swell.
'That's so cute, maybe being crushed isn't so bad'
Then she pulled out a knife.
'Who gave her that!?.....wait... I DID!!!'
Before you could respond something/someone grabbed both your hands and dragged you out of the dangerous dogpile and back to your feet.
"Are you alright (Y/n)?"
"I-I'm fine Kata, just surprised" you dusted yourself off with a chuckle. "I'd say thank you but I know full well you let it happen in the first place so it cancels out"
"I don't know what you're talking about" Katakuri stated flatly.
'Don't play saint with me big guy!' you huffed.
But it would take a lot more than that to remove the smile glued to your face. And that was fine with you.
