《Welcome home - One Piece x Reader》Meeting Pops in Person

So the festival ended well. And by ended well you mean Shanks didn't murder anyone that gave you a suggestive look, or that one guy who tried to propose to you, even though Shanks was practically barking at him.
'I guess his confidence was worthy of praise... What is that?... Six proposals now?'
Isaac, Ian and Liam found you at one point, their faces displaying evidence of raided candy stalls. Shanks had met them when they were little kids 3 years ago so messed with them for a bit before winning them all a goldfish. Ace entered an eating competition, but was disqualified after falling asleep. It was probably a good thing because if he didn't fall asleep it would no longer be a competition. Briggs was more prepared for his drinking competition this time. despite the fact that Shanks was drunk prior to the competition he somehow still managed to drink enough to draw again with Liv. Mihawk didn't even attempt to help Shanks when he stumbled around into objects, he just watched him suffer. It was at that point Mihawk decided it was time for him and Shanks to take their leave.
"I thank you for your time miss (y/n) but we'll take our leave" Mihawk once again kissed your hand and you smiled.
"Please remember that my door is always open" you insisted as he nodded.
"Princess..." rivers were flowing down Shanks' face as he forced something into your hand "I'll always come rushing to your aid! I won't let anyone have you! They're not worthy!" Shanks bawled as he was dragged away by his collar.
You and Ace both waved goodbye. You looked in your hand to see what Shanks had given you and what you saw made you laugh. It was the red hair pirates Jolly Roger in a charm form.
'Is this just gonna be the new thing now?' You smiled as you attached it to your bracelet. 'Oh well... it's cute and subtle'
It was early morning when you and Ace reached back home. You got changed into your (f/c) nightdress and snuggled into bed. Even though Ace could've slept in the guest room, out of habit, he still crawled into your bed, wrapped his arms around you, and started to snore. His hot breath was fanning over your face, just to remind you how close he was. You giggled as you removed strands from his face.
"What am I actually going to do with you?" You whispered as you got comfortable in his arms and fell asleep.
"What are you gonna do with me?..." Ace sighed as he gently kissed your sleeping form.
———————————————————————
Light streamed into the room and dance across your (s/c) skin. You slowly gained consciousness and as you did you noticed the weight of something on your chest. When you looked down you saw Ace, face down, on your breasts, still gripping onto your waist. You could feel his breath through your night dress and it sent goosebumps all the way up your spine. The sun was hitting his skin and in his discomfort he started to rub his face against your chest.
You squeaked. 'AAGH! I! HE'S! I'M!' brain malfunctioned.
your face exploded from the compromising position. Even though you knew he wasn't doing it on purpose it was still hella embarrassing. Once again you, ninja'd your way out of Aces awkward hold in order to go and start breakfast. Today you Ace was taking you to meet Whitebeard who, apparently, was very eager to meet you.
'To think such an amazing person wants to meet me... WHAT THE HELL DID ACE SAY!' You wept internally.

You snapped out of your thoughts and pulled the freshly baked bread out of your oven. You nodded in satisfaction with your hands on your hips.
"Not too shabby!" You beamed.
You returned to scrambling some eggs and waited for the freshly baked bread to cool. You were in your own element so you didn't really notice a very sleepy Ace enter the kitchen. He walked over to you in a stupor and lazily slipped his arms around your waist and rested his chin on your shoulder. You jumped in surprise but giggled when you saw how tired he was.
"Morning sleepy head did you rest ok!" You smiled as you stirred the eggs.
He made a few audible groans about being up too early, before turning to look at you. You had your hair down today, with a few random braids. Somehow you'd found a way to intertwine the blue flowers into your hair. The origami card held it all in place. You weren't wearing some fluffy (f/c) sweater with some skin tight jeans and your bracelet. You looked gorgeous without trying.
Your (s/c) skin looked so soft and smooth that any man would just melt in your presence. In his sleepy state Ace went to kiss your cheek. But due to his sudden movements you'd turned your head to check if he was ok... and you kissed... on the lips...
Ace woke up pretty quickly and you were frozen on the spot. He pulled from you quickly and tried to cover his blush.
'Did that just happen...? OMG DID THAT REALLY JUST HAPPEN!? Did Ace kiss me!?' You were stupefied.
You snapped out of it when you saw Ace laughing in the corner. He was pointing to your face whilst clutching his stomach.
"Y-You're f-face is priceless!" He blurted out before keeling over and cackling some more.
"AAAACE!" You pouted and he laughed some more. "You normally apologise after something like that not laugh!
Ace stopped laughing and looked at you very seriously "I'm not gonna apologise for something I'm not sorry for..."
'This... Guy... What the hell is that suppose to mean?! Who the does he think he is!' You grumbled still red.
As if he red your mind he smiled at you "Pirate!"
"Fine! I guess I'll just have breakfast by myself!" You shouted as you finished the eyes and then and the bread to the table.
"Aw (y/n)! C'mon! Don't be like that!" He whined as he followed you to the dinning room.
————————————————————————
"So what your saying is that he's out there somewhere and we have to go to him via your ship?" You raised a questionable brow.
"Yup! They're such a rowdy bunch! So they'd draw too much attention if they came directly here!" Ace was yanking a small yellow boat from some bushes.
'It looks more like my demise than it does a boat...' you sweat dropped.
"All of a sudden Ace I'm thinking this may not be the best idea!" You laughed nervously as he pulled the yellow boat thing into the water. "Besides the boat looks like it's made for one person anyway! I'll just let you pass on a messa-Agh!" You were picked up by Ace and holding onto him for dear life.
"Problem solves!" He beamed as he jumped onto the boat. "No turning back now!"
His feet set ablaze and before a you could even scream that 'you definitely could go back.' The boat roared to life and Ace smirked with its familiarity. It ripped across the waves at literal breath taking speed. You had clasped your arms around Ace's neck; clinging to him for dear life. The wind was whistling in your ears and every wave that you soared across you assumed it was your last. Your screams were constantly muffled by the wind.

After a few minutes you stopped screaming and started to get used to flying across the blue salt waters at inhuman speeds. You peeked over Ace's shoulder and you couldn't even see the shore that you previously were on. The island was just a tiny spec that blended into the background. The cool water sprayed your face as the sun kissed your skin. The wind was rough-housing it with your hair but after last time you made sure to tightly secure the flowers in your hair.
"I see that you've stopped screaming! You okay now!" Ace smirked as he yelled over the sound of the flaming engine.
He didn't turn to look at you cause he was completely focused on controlling direction of the boat. And that's when it hit.
'He was enjoying every moment of my suffering'
"You did that on purpose didn't you!?" You yelled at him as his smile grew "I THOUGHT YOU WERE GOING TO KILL ME!"
Ace laughed "you know I'd never do that (y/n). I only did it cause you threatened not to give me breakfast"
"But I gave it to you after you got changed!" You retorted
"And I was never gonna let anything happen to you" he smiled whilst you grimaced. "Anyway look!"
You followed Ace's gaze to see a large whale boat. It was literally huge. Your pupils dilated and your jaw dropped open as anxiety began to scratch at the back of your mind. Steadily your hold on Ace tightened.
'I'm about to meet Ace's father figure. What happens if he doesn't like me? Will Ace stop liking me? Will I have to stop seeing him?' Your face was riddled with worry.
Ace looked down at you and his face fell to one of sympathy.
"Look (y/n)... I won't let anyone hurt you... not even pops, But if you really want to we can turn back now" the flames from his feet died down and the board slowed.
'I could go back but...... these people are important to Ace! And if they're important to Ace then they are important to me!" Your eyes glistened with determination as you looked towards the him.
"I'm not afraid of your friends Ace. They're important to you right!? So I just wanna make a good impression" you smiled reassuringly. "Besides, I'm not travelling all the way here just to turn back now!" You pumped your fist in the air.
Then you hit a wave and your arm swung right back around Ace's neck. He was shocked but his face lit up at the fact you were gonna follow through. That and how cute you were.
"Alright here we go!" His feet produced more fire and he picked up the speed.
"ACE WHY!" You cried out as you flew towards the ship.
———————————————————————
Ace pulled next to the boat with no signs of slowing.
"Hold on tight!" He smiled
"What?! I'm not holding onto you tight enough?!" you cried as he sped up.
Just when you thought that he was about to crash, Ace leapt into the air forcing his boat under water. He landed on the back of the ship gracefully with you in his arms; your face buried in the crook of his neck praying for it to all be over.
"Hey (y/n)... you're ok... you can let go now" Ace whispered as he stood up straight.
You slowly looked up at him then down on the wooden planks and released him from your vice grip. He placed you on the ground and only for you to stagger around and fall back onto him. Your legs were practically Jell-O, and your hair looked like it had been through a twister.
"Ace... I honestly hope that you are prepared for the lecture I am about to give you..." you breathed as he chuckled.
"I take you out on a little boat ride and I get a lecture for it! whats a guy gotta do" he smirked.
"YOU KNOW FULL WELL IT'S MORE THAN THAT! LOOK AT MY HAIR!" You yelled and he chuckled.
"I think you look cooler this way!" he ruffled your hair and you groaned.
You whipped out a come from you bag and started to angry brush your hair and as Ace apologised.
"Hahahaha (y/n)-yoi you're finally here!" laughed a familiar voice.
"Hello again (y/n), ... are you feeling ok? you look a bit pale" asked a very concerned voice.
"Thatch! Marco! It's good to see you!" you face lit up as they approached.
"Likewise (y/n)-yoi! I believe I owe you an apology for my actions before... I was in the wrong I'm sorry" Marco sighed as he rubbed the back of his neck.
"Hmm I don't normally forgive people that easily... how about this! I'll forgive you if you promise to look out for my friends... that includes yourself? Deal?" You beamed as you stuck your hand out.
"Deal!" He beamed as he took your hand and kissed it.
"Marco!" You scolded as you flushed.
"You're way too easy (y/n)-yoi" he stepped back before Ace landed a strike to his face.
"It really is good to see you again (y/n). Pops is waiting for you up front! You ready to go and see him." Thatch offered as the two pyromaniacs started squabbling.
"uh... can I sort out my hair first?" you asked as you continued to brush your hair
All the guys paused for a moment and looked at you, then at each other, then back at you.
"you look fine though" they all said in unison.
"you guys are hopeless" you sighed as you finished brushing up the last parts.
———————————————————————
"Hey Pops! Ace is back-yoi! And he's brought the girl we were telling you about!" Marco walked up to the giant man.
Ace walked out onto the main deck with you and Thatch right behind him. As soon as the crew saw Ace, cheers rolled across the deck like thunder.
'No wonder he couldn't bring them to shore! There are so many people here' You were impressed by the waves of people eating and chatting that you didn't really take notice of the one you were actually meant to meet.
"Hey Pops!" Ace waved.
"Gurararararara welcome back boy! Where is your friend! I've heard many stories about her!" His laughter filled the deck and you could feel it vibrating through the floorboards and in your body.
'Oh wow...He's huge... the living definition of gargantuan' you watched the man that Ace admired so much, as he conversed with his sons. 'Um... is he laughing or choking... I can't tell...'
"I hope the stories were all good things..." you stepped forward and took a deep breath.
"Hi I'm (y/n) it's a pleasure to finally meet you!" You smiled then you bowed "before anything else, I would like to thank you for looking after Ace... he can be very troublesome but he's my friend and I appreciate your kindness towards him."
"(Y/n) why do you keep doing that..." Ace whined.
The whole crew started mumbling as they watched you.
"Woah...she's beautiful!"
"Ain't she! And she's so polite as well! Man I'm so jealous!"
"Isn't she single? Maybe I'll try and make a mo-" the mans voice crawled back into his throat as he watched three fuming demons glared him to down.
You were embarrassed from all the new attention you were receiving. But clenched your fists and filled yourself with newfound determination.
You stood straight and looked Whitbeard in the eyes. It felt as though he was assessing your tiny form to try and figure out what all the fuss is about.
"Tell me girl... do you know what we are?" His voice was stern when he asked.
"You're pirates right?"
"Yes we are... doesn't that scare you?" He leaned forward and looked down at me.
'Just breathe' you took a deep breath and slowly released.
"I would be a liar if I said I'm not scared, however I'm not scared you're a pirate, I'm scared because you're and important person to Ace and I have to make a good impression" you smiled. "The title Pirate means nothing to me cause when you approach me you're just... Whitebeard... I see you as the person who's helped my friend"
Everyone was on the edge of their seat as they watched you express yourself to the giant. The silence was deafening, but soon broken by laughter?
"Gurararararara! You boys weren't lying! This young lady is definitely something special!" He boomed.
'No seriously is he laughing or dying, someone should go and check' you sweat dropped.
The whole crew came back to life as they cheered at my response. You squeaked and jumped in surprise. And the crew laughed. Whitebeard made a gesture for you to come closer and after a small nod from Ace, you made your way over.
"You're a very intelligent young lady! I praise your ability to make your own judgement on people without letting bias consume your thoughts. It's very rare to find such strong character. And the fact that you're able to acknowledge the root of your fear is very impressive. Fear will keep you alive as long as you accept it's there. You'll go very far with your mentality my dear." He smiled as though you'd just won an award.
You flushed from all of his praise.
"I-uh Thank you!" You mumbled as he patted your head.
"ALRIGHT LET US WELCOME (Y/N) HERE PROPERLY!" Whitebeard bellowed.
"AAAYYYYEEEE!!!!"
'What a rowdy bunch!' You laughed as the party of your arrival commenced.

They Are Our Smols
You’ve read They Are Smol. You’ve enjoyed They Are Smol (if you haven’t, well, prepare to not enjoy this one either). But this is smols like you’ve not seen them before. This is extreme smolness with a lemon twist: smols fucked up big time in this one, and Earth, well… Earth is empty of smols. At least the ayys hope so, because it’s fallout time back there. The ones that got away — and let’s face it, it was all of them that were left — had no place to go. Homeless, smol and needing protectings, they were taken in. For the lucky ayys out there, they’re our smols. This is a not-so-serious slice of life alternate universe where the entire population of Earth, what was left after the dead man’s switch was flipped and the nukes successfully irradiated the planet, were evacuated en masse and then taken in by the galactic civilization at large. I’ll probably write a few more in this silly, comfy alternate timeline to expand on what’s different, but don’t take it too seriously, okay? I do not take credit for the original setting, this story is set in an alternate version of the 'They are Smol' universe, written by the one, the only u/tinyprancinghorse.TPH takes many forms and is known by many names. He is like Nyarlathotep, only smaller and cuter and more prancey. TPH also has a Website and a Patreon.
