"Ms (y/n)!!! Are they ready?"

"Can we eat yet!?"

"They smell so good Ms (y/n)! Give us some!"

"Boys calm down! We still have a few more minutes to go before the sweet buns are done." You sighed whilst muttering under your breath "geez you three are almost as demanding as Luffy."

It's been 9 years since the death of Sabo and your kidnapping. Not one day has passed where you haven't thought about your friends. Ace... Luffy... Dandan... your grandfather... and Sabo. You missed them all so much. Each night you would pray for their safety whilst clutching onto the origami vivre.

"Oh c'mon Ms (y/n)! We're starving over here! Can't you just take them out now?" Whined one of the boys.

"No means no Liam. So deal with it." You turned on your heel and continued to clean down your place.

To be completely honest with yourself, you were quite lucky. The ship you were on held some undercover revolutionaries who started a mutiny. Many of the passengers became revolutionaries, still some wanted to go back to living a normal life, you included. In the end they stopped at an uninhabited island in the grand line and helped the people to find a new lifestyle. You built homes for yourselves and the revolutionaries pulled strings to help you trade and earn money. Within 3 years your small island was able to make a name for itself.

It was hard. Very hard. You were at sea for a long time, but everyone around you was lived through the same nightmare. It brought you all together and allowed you to persevere. People started to have families. You made money by looking after the children whilst parents were working so you developed a strong bond with the younger generation.

"Why don't you boys make yourself useful and start clearing up the yard. By the time your done the sweet buns will be ready" you smiled

"But..." they tried to protest but were faced by your pouty face. "Ugh fine, Ian, Isaac lets go"

'Hahaha once again the power of guilt tripping strikes again.'

Quite impressively, throughout all the time of war you managed to stick to your no violence principles. Instead you became a master of dodging. It was amazing really. No one could touch you unless you wanted them to.

With the extra pocket money from babysitting, you were able to start a bakery on your own and build your home. You had no idea what was going on in the outside world. Mail was very rare at first cause you were unknown, furthermore the Navy had very little influence on your island so any information on dangerous people also weren't mentioned. Not that it mattered; the people here were more than capable of handling themselves.

You pulled out the tray of mouth watering sweet buns and walked outside

"Why are you guys out here cleaning still, you need to come and eat these sweet buns whilst they're still hot" you called.

"DONT JUST CONTRADICT YOURSELF!" the boys raged as they all dashed in to get food.

You laughed. And that's all you could do. You had survived such a traumatic experience yet still managed to find a way to keep your promise. You found a home, a place for Luffy and Ace to rest as long as they remembered you.

'I wonder if they've set off yet... those trouble makers'

"Ms (y/n)?" You turned to find the owner of the voice.

"yes Isaac?" you picked up a plate of bread and started unloading them into a display cabinet.

"Are you going to marry a pirate?" he said before scoffing down another sweet bun.

You dropped the plate and went completely red. The question itself was completely innocent, but you weren't exactly prepared to hear it.

"w-w-where is th-this c-c-coming from!? W-why are you guys asking me that!?" you were stumbling across the room like a new born deer.

"Haven't you heard Ms (y/n), you're known as the 'ideal house wife' in town. You've already had 4 marriage proposals, but you turned down each one." Isaac explained as he finished his sweet bun.

"He's right Ms (y/n)" Liam continued. "On top of that, you're the only one that allows sick pirates a place to rest when doctors won't treat them."

"W-well that's because-"

"It kinda seems like you would prefer to marry a pirate than a citizen." Ian finished

You took a deep breath.

"Look guys, I helped out those pirates because the crew was about to rampage through the whole town and maybe kill a few people. Besides he only had a very bad fever, nothing some herbal ice tea can't solve " you smiled

"Oooooh" said the boys

"And secondly, there are two reasons why I turned down those 4 people. No.1 THEY BARELY KNEW ME! It wouldn't be fair to get married and then find out we aren't compatible. No.2 I Have a job to do which requires my full attention, I can't risk getting distracted... does that make sense?"

"...No" they all said in unison.

you face palmed "of course it didn't... anyway guys it's time for you to go home, I'm sure your parents have returned and are wondering where you are."

"Ok! Bye Ms (y/n)!" they all scrambled out.

"And remember to bring money for the bread next time" you called after them. "honestly do people think this place runs on prayers" you huffed, as you cleared up the broken glass and dirty dishes. Once finished you dried your hands and locked up.

You walked out the back of the bakery into the woods. Following a now well worn track to a flower filled clearing. In the centre was a lovely little house. Two story's high and two spare rooms. You wasted no time getting inside, trudging upstairs and flopping on your bed.

'Those little kids are gonna be the death of me' you smirked.

You began to rumage through your hair and remove the blue flowers you had in there. They reminded you that Sabo always had your back, even if he wasn't here. You were starting to get teary eyed just looking at the blue flowers with the golden centre.

'Breathe (y/n)... no time to mope' you motivated yourself to shower and put on a breathe-able (f/c) night dress for bed.

'WHAT THE HELL'

You were greeted by the cold unforgiving floor, after being startled by the sound of someone trying to break down your door.

'It's definitely still dark outside so what could anyone possibly want?' You pondered for a moment. 'Oh my giddy aunt... it's happening the people I've rejected have come to kill me.... I give myself way too much credit' you silently cried to yourself.

Your self wallowing was rudely interrupted.

'Oh for Petes sake, someone had better be dying, cause there is no other reason to disturb my sleep' you stormed downstairs and swung open the front door.

"I'm sorry but do you realise what ti-aaah!" The man at the door collapsed inside. 'Oh my gosh, someone is actually dying'

"Bleeding... heavy... need... treatment" he panted, struggling to catch his breath with every word.

"I-I... uh... Right!" You quickly hauled him up the stairs to the spare room. "So... heavy..." you wheezed.

The room was spacious, clean and the only place you felt comfortable when preforming first aid. At this point the man was almost passed out from the pain he was experiencing. He was dying, and you didn't know what to do. You were scared.

'Oh hey (y/n), what did you do last night? Oh you know just thought it would be so much fun to haul an injured stranger to my room and, you know, play doctor.'

You slapped your cheeks. 'Stop it (y/n)! He's dying so do what you normally do, assess and apply'

You looked him up and down. He had two bullet wounds, lots of scrapes and he's already lost a lot of blood.

'Time to get to work'

You grabbed some towels and started to apply pressure to areas where the mystery man was bleeding.

"One bullet... still inside... you need to remove it..." he winced

"But I don't know how-"

"I'll guide you through it" he said with so much clarity you almost forgot he was about to die in your spare room.

"O-ok" You surrendered

"You'll needs tweezers, good lighting, a blunt knife, two cloths one damp and one dry and I need some string" he spoke like an entirely different person. His voice was deep, and held authority.

"R-right!" You ran out of the room and started gathering and setting things up exactly how he told you.

"Alright... now do it just how I told you to" he said before biting down hard on the dry cloth.

It felt like hours had passed. Tears were falling uncontrollably as you heard the man grunt and cry from the agony of you searching for the bullet.

"I-I don't think I c-can do this" you swallowed back the sobs that were creeping into your voice. "I'm not helping you! I'm hurting you!" You cried.

"That's not true! Right now you're the only person who can help me... Your doctors refused to treat me. The mere fact that you accepted makes you more qualified to do this than any doctor" he reassured

You were still sobbing but you wiped your eyes and nodded.

You persevered and eventually found it. Using the tweezers you gently pulled it up and out. The mystery man contorted in pain with every millimetre but lasted.

"I-It's out!" You sobbed placing the black bullet on the side table.

You slumped against the side table legs now refusing to support the cause. Exhaustion was now starting to take its toll. The last thing you heard before you went under was:

"Thank you... I can take it from here... ROOM!"
