《Welcome home - One Piece x Reader》ASL and you

It's been a while since you met Luffy and his other brothers, and after being around them you recognised that they were all had their own wonderful quirks.
Luffy had somehow convinced you to be his friend and begged you to continually meet him and bring him food. You found yourself building a whole new routine for those boys. In the mornings you were completely focused on your tasks in the bakery. If you did well you were able to take as many leftovers as you wanted on top of your pay. Afternoons were spent with the trio and after couple weeks of Luffy's whinging Sabo and Ace caved. They let you stay in their tree house.
Still, it would be an understatement to say that convincing Ace to trust you was hard. He constantly refused your offers to help him. Furthermore he wouldn't eat your baked sweets while you were nearby. However, Luffy told you that he would scoff down your treats and never share. What changed Ace's opinion on you was when they were facing a large wild boar in the forest. It wild beast was desperate and charged straight towards Ace while his back was turned. You'd just managed to push him out of the way and take the blow. You couldn't really remember much after that but after you woke up Ace barely left your side when you were around.
Sabo was much easier to convince after seeing Luffy's bandages and your willingness to be their medic a.k.a you're overwhelming worry for them, he was quite happy to have you around. You're baked goods were a bonus.
Luffy was just thrilled with you from day 1. And you were very happy to be around them. They were like the family you never had, and you were all constantly looking out for each other.
"Hey (Y/n)!!!! Hurry and look at all the food we got today" Luffy beamed.
'This kid...'
"I'm coming Luffy just be patient" you laughed as you began to make your way up to them. "Besides I have a surprise for you all"
"A surprise...... (Y/n)........ HOW MUCH COOKIES ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT" a waterfall of drool escaping his mouth.
"Geez Luffy shut up. If you're going to be so demanding then there's no way you'll be a captain" Ace grumbled as you struggled into the treehouse.
"What!? I will be a captain Ace and you'll be part of my crew! You, Sabo and (y/n)" Luffy yelled, now ready to start a fight with Ace
'Oh no.... here we go again'
"Hey Luffy don't drag me into this. Besides I'm sure (y/n) would prefer to be in my crew because if anyone's gonna be captain it's me!" Sabo exclaimed pointing to himself.
"As if that would happen! (Y/n) would be better off in my crew. I'm the strongest out of both of you so I should be captain!" Ace yelled. At this point all three brothers were getting ready to fight. You could've sworn you saw sparks flying between them all.
"Uh... guys? Why don't you guys tell me where you got all this meat from?" You laughed nervously.
"Well why not just let (Y/n) decide? She's smart and I'm sure she'll tell you that I'm meant to be captain" Luffy said completely ignoring you. And just like that all attention shifted to you.

"That's not a bad idea Luffy. (Y/n), just choose who you think is best suited to be captain" Sabo smiled.
"Yeah (Y/n) and don't just say Luffy cause you feel sorry for him" smirked Ace.
"Guys! calm down!"
They were all stunned to silence at your little outburst. You were normally very calm when it calm to their antics, so your reaction was definitely a surprise.
"Everybody is clearly hungry. Why don't we eat first and then discuss the role of leadership then." Your suggestion hung in the air like a pendulum.
Luffy pouted and held his stomach as another rumble emerged. "You're right (Y/n) let's eat first" Sabo sighed. "I'm also curious about our gift so let's be quick" he smiled.
You could hear an irritated sigh leave Ace's mouth as he picked up a chunk of meat and ate it.
'Thank goodness for Luffy's hunger and Sabo's level headedness' you smiled and encouraged Luffy to tell you the tale of how they got the meat.
[Time skip]
"Phew... I think I'm ready for des-zzzzzz" Luffy began
"DON'T JUST FALL ASLEEP!!!" Ace and Sabo yelled in unison
You were giggling at the comedic scene. 'I can't even tell if they're doing it on purpose'
Laying a hand on Ace and Sabo's shoulder you just smiled "let him be you two, he's probably exhausted."
You walked away from them leaving him a bit red, not that you noticed, and sat next to sleeping Luffy. You began to rub circles in his hair, his head shifting to welcome the action. All you could do was smile.
The scene made both Sabo and Ace slightly jealous but they also couldn't help but feel at ease. Your presence worked miracles.
"Oh no! Luffy wake up I need to give you your gift!" You panicked, shaking Luffy in an attempt to wake him.
"DON'T JUST CHANGE YOUR MIND!" yelled Ace and Sabo.
"(Y/n).... have you got more food...." luffy mummbled through sleep
"IT'S NOT ALL ABOUT FOOD"
"Not exactly Luffy" You gestured to everyone to follow you outside.
The sun was setting and you were all sat on a tree branch overlooking the east blue sea and enjoying the last rays that the bright star had to offer. Luffy was cuddled up to you right side whilst Sabo was sat on your left. Ace just stood next to luffy propping himself against the trunk.
"I've decided" you broke the silence.
"Decided what (Y/n)?" Luffy questioned.
"I've decided who would be best suited to be a captain"
The silence was deafening as everyone anticipated your answer.
You smiled "Luffy would make a great captain"
"Alright!" Luffy beamed whilst the other two went slack jawed. "H-how? H-how could you even say that?" Muttered Sabo
"Simple, I feel that Luffy is sincere in every action he does which allows him to make allies even with his enemies. I think he values trust over anything and therefore his crew will definitely respect him. Sure he's not as strong as you guys now but he'll get stronger."
"No way! I can't believe it. I won't believe it. You think that crybaby is gonna my captain." Ace grumbled whilst Luffy cheered.
"I'm not finished you know" you laughed. "Sabo and Ace will also make a great captains! Sabo's level headed thinking under difficult circumstances and quick reaction time will allow him to dominate the seas with his tactical manoeuvre. He's a genius and his crew will respect his tenacity."

At this point Sabo was so red from the compliments he had to pull his hat down to cover his face.
"Y-you think that?" Sabo muttered
"Of course! I'm rooting for you" You stated without hesitation
"Ace. You're the strongest and definitely the most fearless"
"What about me?" Luffy whined
"Sorry Lu but there is a very thin line between fearlessness and stupidity" you laughed "Besides I feel that Ace's ability to protect what's important to him by becoming a dependable person is a quality every captain should have. Ace's crew will definitely have to earn his respect but to them I'm sure his respect will be worth more than any treasure you guys will find."
It was now Ace's turn to be a blushing mess. "(Y-y/n)..." he whined.
You turned your head towards the sunset and let the gentle breeze flow through your (h/l) (h/c) hair. It was refreshing but the cold was relentless and nipped at your skin causing you to shiver involuntarily.
Suddenly a blue coat was wrapped around your shoulders. "You should be more careful (Y/n). If you get sick then who's gonna keep us out of trouble" Sabo smiled whilst adjusting the coat. It was your turn to be red. Ace just scoffed "would it kill you to just worry about yourself every once in a while."
"But (y/n) if you think that we're all gonna be captains then who will you go with?" Luffy asked.
"I won't go with any of you." You stated.
"(Y/n) you want to be a captain as well?" Ace said in surprise.
"Wh-what!? N-no! I could never be a pirate! I don't even like violence that much!" You exclaimed. The boys sighed in relief.
"No... I have a much more important job" You beamed. "I'm gonna find a haven for you guys"
"I don't understand?" Sabo frowned
"You guys have given me something very special. A place I can call home. Home being wherever you guys are. So I'm gonna do the same. I'm gonna find an island in the grand line where the Navy won't bother you, where food is in abundance, and where you can go if you ever get tired."
You whipped out a few pieces of paper. It was cut into four sections, and one piece was significantly bigger than the others. And in your handwriting the word 'home' was written on each piece.
"This is how you'll find it" you smiled handing a small piece to each of the boy.
"Wait.... I know what these are! They're vivre cards. They move towards the person who has the biggest piece no matter where you are in the world." Sabo explained. "But how did you get this? They're so expensive."
"I saved up my money from the bakery" smiling at the last piece of paper in your hand. "It was hard but worth it. No matter where in the world you guys are you'll be able to find me. All you have to do is look for me when you need me."
At this point Luffy had already stuffed the paper in his most treasured possession and pounced on you. "(Y/n)!!! Thank you!"
"Agh! Luffy wait!" You screamed. "Luffy are you trying to kill her" Ace yelled as he tried to pry Luffy off of you.
"Then how about we wait until we're 17. We can go out to sea at that point and then we can achieve our dreams." Sabo suggested
"sounds like a plan shishishi"
And just as we made our promise the sunset and all the stars came out. It was normal for you to see the stars but on this night they seemed to shine especially bright.
[A little bit extra]
You yawned and stretched as you rose from your bed. You woke up late cause you didn't have to go to the bakery today. But the weird thing was that no one else was there.
"Ace?... Luffy?... Sabo?"
'Where the hell are they'
That's when you heard the muffled voices outside. "I think this is enough.... are you sure she'll like it."
'That's definitely Ace but what are they talking about?'
"Of course she'll like it, I saw a guy do this in town with way less and the girl was so happy she cried"
"But I don't want (Y/n) to cry"
'Sabo... Luffy... wait seriously why are they talking about me' you decided to make yourself known and call for them.
"ACE! SABO! LUFFY! WHERE ARE YOU GUYS!"
You could hear your friends scramble up to where you were and as usual Luffy jumped on you. "(Y/n) you're up! We have a surprise for you so you have to trust us ok?" Luffy smiled
"Uh sure?"
Ace took one of your hands and Sabo took your other. Luffy ran behind you and covered your eyes with his hands. You where blushing slightly from the amount of contact you were receiving but just followed as they somehow led you out and down the treehouse.
Sabo squeezed your hand "alright Luffy you can show her now"
Your eyes were uncovered and your hands slowly moved to your mouth. In front of you were bunches of flowers, all different kinds but arranged in some order so that each one could show it's beauty. You were stunned... no amazed.
As you stood in awe the boys just looked at you.
"(Y/n) this is a thank you for the present you got us" said Sabo
"We'll find you no matter what!" Luffy shouted
"We'll always be there when you need us. We promise" Ace mumbled whilst going a bit red
"You guys are something else!" You jumped on all of them and gave each one a kiss on the forehead. Ace and Sabo went completely red and started to whine whilst Luffy just laughed.
After giving the boys a small lecture on picking so many flowers, you picked up some of your favourite flower in the colours red, blue and yellow. After a little stuggle you managed to intertwine them into a beautiful headband which you were wore with pride.
"That way I'll always have you guys with me" You beamed.
You always wore flowers in your hair with those colours ever since.
