Crap, crap, crap!

I'm running late for work, Ms. Emily is going to kill me...

Why did I have to stay up late at night, watching StrayKids on crack videos? Why?!

I'm not a morning person, so I should have known better than to click on such videos. Because one video brings up another one and another one and then-

'Okay, we get it. Go dress up for work now, you lazy brat.'

Oh, how much I haven't missed you at all, consciousness...

'Love you too, brat.'

Yeah, sure. You know you don't.

'True.'

Ouch.

So, the chances of me getting there in time, are like, 0% and that only means... I have to mentally prepare myself for getting a morning lecture from miss Emily.

I hate it when she has to do all the work on her own, so she has all the right of the world to scold me...or not.

AnYwAyS.

As I was all dressed up, ready to run a Marathon just to, at least, get at the coffee shop 10 minutes earlier, my phone rang just I was about to step out of my house.

I hurriedly unzipped my backpack and took my phone in my hands, looking at the ID.

It was Ms. Emily.... Fork.

I bet my grandma's cat, that she must have called me to lecture me before hand.

But, it's not like I'm this late anyway...

'Yeah, only 25 minutes late. Nothing much.'

Oh, shush.

"H-hello..?", I picked up the call with trembling hands, my words coming out of my lips slowly.

"Rosa, sweetheart, where are you?", she said in a rather worried tone. I was expecting her to be more harsh to be honest, but that works too, I guess.

I cleared my throat and inhaled sharply, before getting ready for my rant.

"I'm reeeally sorry Ms. Emily, I didn't do it on purpose, I swear! I'm already on my way, don't worry. I tried to be there on time, but my alarm wasn't on and I thought I had time left, but I was wrong and-"

"Calm down, sweetheart, I didn't call you for that. Don't worry about it.", she cut me off, before I was even able to complete my sentence.

My brows frowned in confusion and my head slightly titled to the side.

"You mean to tell me, that you didn't call to scold me for being 25 minutes late...?", I slowly closed the door behind me and made sure that I double locked it.

I heard her chuckle on the other line and made my stomach twist in agony.

"Just because it's your first time doing it, I'll let it slide.", she stated and I let out a sigh of relief.

"Then, why did you call me?"

"There's a mister here that wants to speak to you. I found him waiting outside the coffee shop this morning and he says that it's something important."

Say what now?

I gulped down, my eyes narrowing in confusion once again.

"A mister that wants to speak to me? About what? Do I know him?"

I remember paying for the electricity bills this month, so who on earth could it be?

"I don't know sweetheart, he won't tell me exactly. He said that he hasn't met you before, he only knows your name, but wants to speak with you."

"Umm, Ms. Emily, he might be someone that we shouldn't trust. He seems creepy enough to me, waiting outside the coffee shop and stuff. Please stay safe.", I picked up my pace, wanting to get there as soon as possible and help her with this creepy man around her.

"Don't worry about me, it's you that he wants."

"Way to make me feel better, miss Emily...", I rolled my eyes.

She let out a chuckle. "Either way, I doubt that he can do anything dangerous in a public area. He doesn't speak English well, though."

Not only is he creepy, but he is a foreigner as well? How amazing... Note the sarcasm.

"Oh, great. The Russian Mafia has finally come to kill me for whatever reason.", I dead panned, chuckling dryly.

"I'll call 911 just in case and I'll be there soon. Keep an eye on him in the meantime."

"Sure thing, sweetheart. See you soon.", she hung up the phone.

° ° °

"Is this him?", a police officer asked Ms. Emily, after we stepped inside the shop.

Once she nodded her head, both him and another tall officer hurriedly approached the creepy man, holding him firmly by each one of his arms.

I know this may seem a little bit too much, but this guy was forking waiting for me outside of my work place. What if miss Emily wasn't there and I was all alone with him to do whatever he wanted? You can never know, so it's better be safe than sorry.

The foreign man wiggled his arms furiously, trying to break free from the two police officers.

"What's going on? Let me go!", the man said both startled and scared. He was desperately trying to free himself, moving furiously for his liberty. But when his eyes landed on me, he abruptly stopped his momentum.

"Miss Rosalynn, is that you?", his unfamiliar face looked straight at me, his eyes keeping sparks of hope, with his distinguish accent very apparent.

I folded my arms and narrowed my gaze, taking slow steps closer to him. "Who are you and how do you know me?", my voice threatening, feeling confident that I was protected by the officers.

The unknown man smiled and let out a sigh of relief, when he made sure that he had found the person he was looking for.

"Miss Rosalynn, I'm the manager of StrayKids and I've come with a request.", he informed, finally breaking free from the two tall men.

I took a step back, letting out a scoff of disbelief.

"And how should I trust you? From all I know, you could be a Korean reporter that came to interrogate me about my relationship with them and- Wait.", I paused, realization hitting me.

"How did you find out about us? Are you a stalker? I'm not going to say anything, so you might as well leave now.", I pointed a finger at the shop's entrance.

At this point, both miss Emily and the officers were starting to get confused, not keeping up with what the man and I were talking about.

"Seems like there's no danger here, want some doughnuts misters?", I heard miss Emily talking to the police officers in the background, but my eyes were fixated on the man infront of me.

"Miss Rosalynn, I'm speaking the truth.", he repeated.

"That's what reportes would say. I told you, I'm not going to speak about them.", I defended, trying to make him leave the building.

"Even if I was a reporter, you really shouldn't have said that you are not going to talk about them, because that will only make clear your relationship with them. But as I told you, I'm their manager and...", he searched for something in his bag.

"Here. See? I'm telling the truth.", he took out an ID card with barely any English words written in it and handed it over to me.

I carefully observed the card, my eyes squinting in the process. A moment later, I gave it back to him, my arms folding again.

"You know, I can't read a thing, right? So, I still cannot trust you.", I clicked my tongue.

The man sighed tiredly, loosing all his hope.

"I came all this way here, because BangChan, practically, begged me to.", he placed the card on the table.

"Chan?", I questioned, my voice softening at the thought of him.

It's been a while since I last saw all of them and I really miss them.

"He asked me to fly here and talk with you, because he wants you to be there for Felix's birthday. No one knows about this, only you, Chan and I. He wants it to be a surprise.", he explained further, but I still had my doubts.

He seemed to notice the weird look I was giving him and thought I was having problem processing the news.

"If money is what worry you, I can assure you that we are in charge of everything. We will pay for your plane tickets and for your accommodation. Chan has everything planned.", he gave me a warm smile.

"That's not it. I still feel that all this is weird. I mean, you came here out of the blue, without Chan informing me before hand, just to tell me this? This smells fishy to me.", I casually shurgged my shoulders, glancing down at his card ID.

"I can understand.", he nodded his head and looked over his bag. He digged his hand in it and took his phone out. He then proceeded to go through his contacts and dialed a number.

I could hear the ringing sound from the other line, but it was soon interrupted once that person picked up.

The man infront of me started speaking in Korean.

The dialogue between the unknown caller and the fishy man infront of me, continued for another minute more, before the, so-called manager, gestured me to take his phone.

I was a bit taken aback at his actions, but I placed the phone next to my ear nonetheless.

"Uh, hello?", I asked curiously, wanting to know to whom I was talking to.

"Hello, miss I-cannot-trust-you-because-you-seem-fishy-to-me, how you doin'?", I could, practically, see him smirking.

"Chan?", I laughed out, a huge smile of happiness appearing on my lips. My eyes going wide in shock.

So this man next to me, is really their manager...

How embarrassing...

"Yep. Do you trust my manager now?"

"Yeah, I do...", I said embarrassed, giving an apologetic smile to the poor guy next to me.

The phone call with Chan continued for about 5 minutes more.

He managed to explain all I needed to know about this plan, within the little amount of time he had. I was considering carefully everything he had to say, it was still fresh to me the idea of flying to Korea for two days, just for Felix's birthday.

Chan understood my hesitation, but when I eventually I agreed to this, I could, practically, hear him jumping around his studio from excitement.

He didn't stop thanking me for everything I've done for them until we hung up the phone.

It was the least I could do for him, he didn't need to thank me for anything.

I wanted to see them again, so this was a good opportunity for me.

"Thanks again, Rosa. Felix is going to be very happy. See you soon.", Chan thanked me for the nth time.

"Don't mention it. See ya.", I said and we hung up the phone.

I instantly turned my attention to the manager and handed over his phone. Blinking a couple of times, I gave him an awkward smile.

"So...when are we gonna leave?", I tried to sound sweet and polite, already regretting ever treating this man the way I did earlier.

"Tonight. Pack your things and I'll pick you up around 7:30 in the evening."

° ° °

Oh, the things I do for them...

Firstly, I get to fly with a plane for the first time. I spent my whole life in my hometown, not really travelling to other places, so taking the plane and flying to another country is a big deal for me.

Secondly and probably, most importantly, was the part where I had to find an excuse to both Ms Emily and my grandma for the fact that I would be gone for two days...

Well, it wasn't an easy thing to do.

It was easier to find an excuse to Ms Emily, since I didn't have to say a complete lie. I just told her that I needed to leave for a couple of days, because Felix offered me a free trip to Korea.

Since Ms Emily knows Felix, it wasn't hard for her to believe my half lie.

Well, with my grandma, though...it's another story.

My grandma never really got the chance to meet StrayKids -thankfully for me- so, the only solution that I had, was to tell her that I would go visit Vicky at her place for some days.

YeAh, wElL tHaT wAs a LiE...

'Why you always lyin'~'

Consciousness, that's really not the right time to make fun of me...

'MmMmh oh my God, stop forking lyi-'

Okay, that's enough.

"Ms Rosalynn, gather your stuff. We are going to land soon.", the manager's voice spoke from beside me, bringing me back to reality.

I turned my head and looked outside of the window.

Oh wow, the view is amazing.

Is it weird that I feel anxious for a weird reason?

My stomach is having a break dance session of it's own and it makes me nauseous, but at the same time excited.

Moments later, the plane safely landed at the airport and all I did, was to follow the manager like a lost puppy. I couldn't do other wise, because I don't even know how to speak the language here, so he was in charge of everything.

"May I ask why Chan was to persistent on bringing you here, for Felix's birthday? Jisung's birthday was literally yesterday, so why Felix?", the manager questioned and handed me over my suitcase. I choked on my own saliva from his sudden question, blinking my eyes vigorously, without replying. I couldn't form words, I was only staring blankly at him.

"Uh... I- don't know, ask Chan.", I choked, wishing that the earth could swallow me whole right now. Like, what am I suppose to tell him, huh? That I do know the reason and I'm not willing to explain the whole back story of Felix and I? That would be rude of me and let alone, dangerous for Felix's fame.

"I did ask him, bu-"

"Rosalynn!", a cheerful voice interrupted our conversation.

The voice was coming from behind us and I instantly knew who it was. With a big smile and teary eyes, I opened my arms wide and run towards him, hugging -or more like, suffocating- the life out of him.

"Chan! I missed you.", I breathed out, embracing him in my arms as he did the same, securing me in his big body.

It had been almost over a year, since the last time I saw him. I couldn't see his features, as he was covered in a black mask, with sunglasses and a black cap. Did I mentioned that his clothes were also total black?

God, this boy does not have any colourful clothes in his closet? Is he going to a funeral or something?

"I missed you too, Rosie. And I know somebody that misses you even more.", he whispered the last part, since his manager was still right next to us. My heart skippped a beat at the thought of Felix and I smiled widely.

"And that's why I'm here.", I giggled inaudibly, already getting a weird stare from the manager, as he coughed awkwardly. He may have gotten the wrong idea by now, probably thinking that there's something more with Chan and I. Considering that I, practically, threw myself on him earlier, I shouldn't judge him so hard, because if I were him, I would have thought the same.

Chan let go of me and patted my head, occasionally looking around him, for any possible reporters. "I have to ask you to keep a low profile, though. Korea is crowded with reporters and we don't want to get in trouble.", he let me know and I eagerly nodded my head in understanding.

"I came to pick you up, so, shall we go now?", he took my suitcase and carried it along with him, as I happily followed his lead from beside.

"You came just in time. Your manager was asking me about Felix and I...", I discreetly glanced at the manager, who was walking behind us.

Chan let out a chuckle. "Really? And what did you tell him?", he laughed amused.

"Hey, it's not funny, I nearly got a heart attack. I couldn't form words. What was I suppose to tell him?", I frowned, playfully elbowing him in his arm and he laughed even more.

"Hmm, I don't know. Maybe the time you guys went on a date at the woods...or that night at the coffee shop, where we played truth or da- Ow!", I hit him before he was able to finish, hoping that the manager didn't listen to anything he said. Chan had a smug expression on his face, knowing pretty well that he made me flustered.

"Say a word more and your arm won't be the only thing that I'll hit.", I gave him a death glare and he let out a satisfied chuckle, raising his hand in defeat.

When we stepped out of the airport, Chan led me towards the parking lot. The manager took out some car keys and unlocked a black van. A very familiar black van, may I add.

"Does this thing still work?", I snorted, recalling that time when this specific car had broken down just outside of my house.

Chan opened the back of the car and put my suitcase in, turning his head to look at me with a grin. "Yeah, apparently, we had it fixed and it is in perfect condition now.", he reassuringly patted the passenger's seat door and short after, he opened it for me to get in. "Ladies first.", he smiled and I gladly walked in.

"But please, the next time you guys go on hiatus, don't take this car and use another one instead. Who knows in whose house you are gonna end up the next time.", I dead panned and Chan bursted out laughing, making me giggle at my ironic words as well.

"Yeah, I think that's a good idea.", he wiped off a tear and proceeded to get in the car as well.

° ° °

"Umm, Chan? Do I really need to wear this?", my eyes analyzed every corner of my outfit, the feeling was rather uncomfortable and it made me itchy.

Chan stepped in the room and his eyes landed on my figure, checking me out. Never in my life had I seen Chan keeping such a mischievous smile on him.

Seconds later, the boy bursted into barks of laughter, not being able to control himsefl at the sight of me. "It's perfect.", he snorted and I rolled my eyes.

"Oh please, you can't even keep a straight face while saying that. How's this supposed to be a surprise for Felix? I doubt he even likes clowns.", I kept a straight face, but while putting the colourful wig and the creepy mask on, I started laughing at myself.

Gosh, I look hilarious like this. Needles to say that if there were a child to see me right now, it would get nightmares. This mask is really...something else.

Why did Chan even want me to dress up like a clown? To hide myself up and fool Felix with this attire, until he realises it's me behind this plastic, unbreatheable mask and baggy pants by himself?

Chan let out a chuckle and came closer to me to adjust the curly wig better on my head. "Indeed, Felix doesn't like clowns, they scare him out. But, he is going to love this clown for sure.", he looked into my eyes and gave me a smirk. My cheeks started heating up at his words.

"Until then, have fun scaring him out. It will be a memory worth to keep.", he laughed wickedly.

I let out a scoff and rolled my eyes. "You meanie.", I giggled.

"Now, now. Shall we go?", he took my hand, that was covered in gloves and gestured me to the door. My heart started to pick the pace dangerously up from the nervousness and I had a hard time breathing. My hands and forehead started to sweat and the mask intensified the suffocation.

"Don't worry, it's going to be fun.", he reassured me, trying to ease my nerves once he saw my current state. I gave him a smile, feeling grateful that he is always there for me to make me feel better and nodded my head.

"Okay, let's go.", I gathered up my courage and walked outside the dressing room.

Chan smiled and walked beside me, leading the way to the dance practise room. "And remember, don't get distracted by anyone. Whatever they tell you, don't speak, otherwise they're going to find out it's you.", he whispered and I nodded, pursing my lips into a thin line.
