Last Wedding Rehearsal.
Everybody stood around the church after going over how things should go in two days, one last time. The closer it gets the more excited I become. I thought I'd be really nervous but when you're marrying somebody that you truly love there's no reason to be.
Glancing around the church, my eyebrows furrowed when I didn't see Aubree. I got ready to go ask where she was until I looked in the back. She sat on the last bench. It looked like she was on her phone. I don't know why but it feel like she's been avoiding me today.
After handing Caiden over to my mom, I went back there with her. "Hey baby."
Her head quickly turned to me. "Oh hey Chris."
I chucked while sitting next to her. "Did I scare you?"
"A little bit." She gave me a small smile. "Is everybody ready to go?"
"They chilling...ain't no rush. Why you back here by yourself?"
"I still have a headache from last night."
"Oh okay....well my mom is going to take the girls and Miah is taking Caiden so that means I can help you get rid of that headache." I bit my lip at her.
"They don't have to do that."
"It's cool. Besides I want to spend some alone time with you before we become husband and wife."
She slowly nodded then looked down at her phone again. I just studied the side of her face. She looked nervous as hell.
"Aubree are you okay?" I asked.
"Huh? Oh....yes I'm fine. Why?"
"You just seem out of it today. I know you're hungover but I've seen you hungover plenty of times and you never act like this."
"We had a lot to drink baby." She laughed. "Trust me, I'm fine."
I stared at her again before nodding. "Okay Aubree."
"Since you're letting people take my kids I'll go say bye to them then we'll go."
"Alright."
She got up and walked away. Even though she's telling me she good and it's just a hangover, I don't believe her. Walking over to Raven I tapped her shoulder. She looked back at me then smiled. "Wassup."
"Can I talk to you real quick?" I asked.
"Sure."
"Outside....not around Aubree."
Her eyebrows furrowed as she looked over at Aubree then back me. "Okay, I guess."
I lead her outside, then went and leaned up against my car. "What's going on with your friend?"
"What you mean?"
"I know my fiancé and her vibe is off, she's been distant all day and every time I ask her what's up, she says she fine but I can tell she's not."
"She seems normal to me. Chris we partied hard last night, I'm surprised I was able to get out of bed."
"Did anything happen yesterday?"
"No...not that I can remember. We all had a good time, Aubree could barely stand up on her own after a while...after that shit is a blur honestly."

"Chris." Aubree called walking outside. "I'm ready." She looked at Raven then at me. "What are you guys talking about?"
"I'm just bragging to your big head fiancé about how much fun we had yesterday."
"Oh yeah. Here's your keys and stuff Chris." She unlocked the car then gave me my stuff then went and climbed in the car.
"See what I mean?" I turned back to Raven.
"She's probably just tired, relax. Everything is good trust me."
"Alright Raven."
"Cheer up Chris you guys are getting married in two days! This is exciting."
"Yeah....well let me get her home and rested up."
"See you guys at the wedding."
"See you." I walked around to the driver side and climbed in. "Alright, let's get home." I pulled off.
"Why are you asking her if I'm okay?"
"Because you're acting strange as hell Aubree. I know when something is wrong with you and I wish you'd just tell me what's up."
"Chris I said that I'm fine and I wish you would let it go."
"You're lying but okay."
"Please don't piss me off."
"Ask me if I give a fuck about you being pissed off when I KNOW you're hiding something from me. See the thing about you Aubree is your poker face is terrible. You'll never be able to hide anything. I know your vibe when everything is perfect and when it's not, but If you don't want to tell me then cool."
"Whatever Chris."
I looked over at her while clinching my jaw, then shaking my head. Pressing my foot down on the gas more, I hurried home. I wanted to get out of this car before shit got worse.
When we got home, I hurried inside and up to the room. I went into the closet and grabbed something to change into.
I wanted to spend some quality time with Aubree before the wedding but she's tripping and I don't have time. We said we wouldn't go into our marriage with nonsense and look how she's acting.
Once I changed my clothes, I went and grabbed a blunt I rolled earlier and went out onto the balcony. Pulling my phone out of my pocket, I opened Instagram. I've barely been on any social media lately. My focus has been my family and my money. The last thing I posted was Aubree on her birthday.
After scrolling through my timeline, I went up to my stories. I just quickly tapped through everybody's until I got to Aubree's. The videos were mostly of her dancing and singing along to whatever played. You can tell when the liquor started hitting her more and more. It was about 20 videos and I watched them all. When it got to the last ones, someone wrapped their arms around her. Aubree turned around. "Toriiiiiiiiii! Hey boo." She yelled hugging that snake ass hoe back.
"Hey baby, congratulations on your big day."

"Thank you."
The video cut off then the next one was 20 minutes later and she was twerking on Tori. Shaking my head I locked my phone and got up. When I walked inside the house, Aubree was lying across the bed. "So you back hanging around Tori?" I asked.
"What?"
"Y'all was real acquainted on your instastory. Looked like you played for the other team in those videos."
Aubree's eyes grew then she got up and grabbed her phone. She went and watched the videos. "Oh, it's just us dancing, nothing more."
"Was you expecting more than y'all just dancing or something?"
"No Chris, I'm going downstairs. I don't have time for you to keep annoying me." She got up
"Man hell naw." I grabbed her arm. "Aubree man what the fuck did you do? Tell me now."
"I didn't do anything." She snatched away.
She was really pissing me off man.
"Okay, ima let it go. But let me tell you this." I stepped in her face. "If I find out anything on my own, all hell gone break loose. So I pray you're being honest with me because I don't want to have to hurt you Aubree."
"Don't threaten me."
"That wasn't a threat love." Bumping past her I walked back into the closet and grabbed some shoes and a hoody. I can't sit around this negative energy she giving off so I'll just go chill with my kids.
I hope whatever she's hiding isn't bad, because Aubree knows better than anybody how crazy I can get. I just pray she didn't cross me. Loyalty is something I don't play about and to have the woman I'm about to marry betray me.
Whew....
Once Chris left the house, I grabbed my phone and called Courtney and Raven and told them to come over. I had to tell somebody what happened before I go crazy.
Twenty minutes later, the doorbell rang. Sighing, I got up from the bed and went down to open the door. "Hello."
"Hey boo." Raven hugged me.
"Everything okay?" Courtney asked.
"Uhh...no, it's not. Let's go into the kitchen."
They looked at me worried then followed me to the back. Once we got in the kitchen, I leaned on the counter and ran my fingers through my hair.
"Aubree, you got me nervous right now. What's up?" Raven asked.
"Do you guys remember last night, because I don't."
"Not really. It's a blur. I've been trying to figure how I got home because I don't remember driving. When I woke up I was in my pajamas and everything." Courtney said.
"Me too and that was weird as hell. I don't think I drove. Have you talked to your cousins?" Raven asked.
"No not yet...so who invited Tori?"
"Not me." They both answered.
"I saw her in your instastory and was so confused because sis really snuck up on us." Courtney said.
I groaned and rubbed my forehead. "This is crazy."
"Bree what is going on?" Raven asked. "Chris pulled me out the church and asked me if everything was okay with you. I thought you were okay until now. Did something happen?"
Tears filled my eyes. "I woke up this morning and I was in bed with Tori and some guy. My clothes were off and everything. I don't remember anything from last night. I've been trying to figure shit out and nothing coming back and I am so scared for Chris to find out."
"Aubree! Please tell me you are fucking lying!" Courtney yelled.
"I wish I was."
"Oh my goodness. Why would would you keep this from Chris? You know he is about to lose his fucking mind and what's going to make it all worse is that he knew something was wrong and you just keep lying to him."
"And I feel awful about all of this! I'm getting married in two days and I fucking cheated! He's going to hate me."
"Aubree this could all be a set up. Tori is a snake ass bitch, when we were at the club for your birthday and she randomly popped up, I knew something wasn't right. It's crazy how none of us remember last night and just popped up home in our beds. She set us up." Raven said.
"But why?! Because Chris choked her a long ass time ago?! That shit is stupid as hell."
"That bitch is dumb that's why but forget all of that, you gotta tell Chris what happened Aubree."
"How? What if this isn't her drugging me, what if I willingly went with her and some random man? Chris is going to hate me. This wedding is going to be cancelled."
"Aubree you don't know unless you do it. He's been asking what's wrong. He knows something is up and he knows your lying. We've all seen Chris upset. You don't need that."
"I'm going to tell him."
"When?" Courtney asked.
"As soon as he gets back I'm going to tell him."
"Well, looks like Courtney and I will be spending the night. Because you're definitely going to need us." Raven said.
"No....I have to do this alone. I'm going to tell him I promise, just not with you two here."
"Aubree."
"Raven seriously....I'll call you guys in the morning, Okay?"
"Is that your way of putting us out?" Courtney asked.
"See you tomorrow." I asked.
Raven shook her head while getting up. "You should've told him when you got home Aubree."
"And you should've looked out for your friend Raven. It was my night, why would everybody get drunk, somebody was supposed to stay sober. What if something awful would've happened?! Well never mind, it did!"
"Whatever, let's go Courtney." She walked to the door.
Courtney came and hugged me. "Please tell him."
"Okay."
After that they left. I went back upstairs and grabbed my phone and opened my texts with Chris.

The Ruined Monks of Rothfield Monastery
Erin is the youngest member of the dark monks; a supernatural brotherhood whose ultimate mission is to improve the dire circumstances of poor, war-torn villages using powers unique to each member. Or so he was led to believe. Erin, like his brothers, does not age, and that is, unfortunately, the only trait he shares with them. He cannot charm or compel like Woodrow, he cannot cast illusions like Knox, he was not swift like Swithin, not powerful like Blake. He was barely an assistant to his dear brother Wilbur, with his herbology and alchemy. He was told to lie low and make himself scarce. That is what he did. The dark monks temporarily reside in abandoned monasteries scattered around the country, feeding the poor and healing the sick, nurturing the monastic lands until it was fertile enough to raise crops and rear animals. As the years passed, they would leave these reformed, repopulated, self-sustaining monasteries and venture froth to help the next settlement. Yet, after years of toiling and quiet servitude, Erin notices that people and the country itself are declining. The villagers look gaunt, the once-lush soil now barren and cracked. He begins to feel disheartened, thinking that their mission is proving futile. Still, their leader Blake is steadfast and charges onward, and lately has his eyes set on a certain monastery in a thick, thorned forest that seems to diminish, even nullify their powers. A thick forest that Erin somehow has a connection to. A thorned glade where an ethereal voice calls his name with one simple request along with a promise:Heal the land, child. Heal the land and I promise to give you sanctuary so long as you stay. I promise to nurture you as you nurture me. As Erin cultivates the land, the land, in turn, gifts all its caretakers with new, enhanced skillsets on top of their unique powers -- skills of protection, healing, and magic. Magic. Erin had long wished to see the world fill with it again. The people, regardless of common or noble blood, still believe that magic will enter this world again. Magic to bless the king like it did the Saints. Magic to dispel the miasma befouling the world. Magic to bring back the fae folk and their many forms. It is up to Erin to forge the many paths leading to a bright future; to build a prosperous paradise that welcomes all races and bloodlines, by mastering the rewards gained through agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry, smithing, crafting, and fishing. Erin may also find a lifelong friendship and romance with his neighbor, Claude, if he decides to pursue him, and may even join him in the military campaign outside the monastery. The darkness still lurks outside, after all, and the mastery of his skills, along with a few good friends, may finally be enough to turn the tide in their favor. Most of all, Erin wants to keep the vow he set for himself: to protect everyone and everything he loves until his dying breath.
