《Chasing a Spikey Relationship》Chapter 7

Your POV
A window that I would be leaving through.
I had heard rumors of other people with abilities they had no control over, and I figured that, given enough time, I could find them and maybe they could explain to me what was happening to me.
I felt bad; leaving Chase was the last thing I wanted to do, but I couldn't stay locked up forever. He would understand; he had been locked up at one point in his life, and I doubted that he wanted to keep me in containment.
Just to be safe, I wrote him a note.
'Chase-
Do not come looking for me. (I can hear you yelling at the others to put on their mission suits. Stop that.) I'm leaving to find other people like me, and maybe get a handle on these new abilities. I'm sorry I couldn't say good bye, but I was afraid you'd try to stop me.
I can't stay locked up forever, though. Please tell my parents what happened to me, and tell them not to worry; I will get in touch with them soon.
Chase, I care about you, and I don't want to hurt you, but I need to work this out for myself. I fear that the nature of these abilities is something you cannot understand (I can feel you rolling your eyes. Stop that.) and I'm seeking out people with similar abilities.
Love,
(Y/n)'
I folded it up and placed it on the bed where I had been laying.
He was going to freak out, but it was my body. And I had read enough comic books to know that experimentation and attempts to get rid of these powers wouldn't work.
I was leaving, and there was nothing anyone could do to stop me, not Chase, not Mr. Davenport, and definitely not Bree.
I was just hoping that I could find someone else like me.

Peculiar Soul
Not everyone gets a soul. The rise of industry and mechanization has sent the world's population booming upward, striving relentlessly for the fixed handful of souls that level armies and steer the fate of nations. The remnants of a crumbled empire fight in a grinding, bloody war against their ancient enemy. Not everyone gets a soul, but Michael must - for he is the scion of a lord, and the soulless cannot hold such a title. For five years he has tried to tempt one of the souls freed by its vessel's death. Five years of pain and failure, earning only his father's contempt. At last, one more opportunity to earn his soul has come. But not everyone gets a soul quite like his. Updates weekly on Wednesdays. Cover art by Harry Rowland.
8 611God complex
A hero is summoned to another world, vanquishes evil, yadda yadda, saves the kingdom and lives happily ever after. There is no such hero in this story. Just a desperate youth with great ambition and very little to lose. A zero to hero style story set in a country clearly inspired by modern USA with just as many issues and the minority of mages often pulling strings from the shadows. I am also hoping the whole thing won't turn out edgy enough to cut me. I want to rely on actual good writing rather than cheap powertrip gimmicks. edit: Please don't mind Zetari's salty review. He is quite literally making up any use of the torture and human experimentation trope and says MC is blank after 4 chapters where he conveniently stops reading just at the start of his first character development. For extra entertainment, I will be uploading chapters two at a time and compose a relevant poem through the chapter names. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
8 89The Man Who Walked in the Dark
Just because it can be found, doesn't mean it should. All things found, all things fixed. Jude Demarco was the best private detective Nicodemia Station had ever ignored. Detective, handyman, medic. He was a bulldog who tracked down every lead and wouldn't let go until the bloody truth died dripping in his jaws. Even if someone got hurt. Even if someone got killed. You lost it? He can find it. When a collector arrives in a private cruiser from Earth looking for a stolen painting, Demarco has to decide if a few dimes are worth dealing with the worst of the worst in Nicodemia Station. It'll pit him against crime lords, government bureaucrats, and, even worse, the Catholic Church. If there's anything folks get too passionate about, it's art and religion. No sane person would take a job that mixed the two. Then again, sometimes a person just gets desperate.
8 123Huntress (completed)
'It's not about what I can or can't do. It's about what I have to do.' A monster lurks in the forest. To protect her village, a huntress decides to hunt the monster.
8 114Wang Ki's Prophecy: The Elven Kingdom

Fourteen year old Wang Ki and his hyung, Dae Sung and Min Su are no exception to that destruction. After their village is destroyed, the three of them travel to try and find a new home, but to no avail. They learn from an early age that the world is cruel and people don't care. Along the way though, they somehow manage to befriend, if you can call it that, an assassin who teaches them how to fend for themselves. This odd group ends of causing a lot of trouble, and finding it, as their adventure unfolds to the Elven Kingdom and learn about the world along the way.
