《Is it Love? (Flash x Reader)》Chapter 6

I woke to the sound of Barry stirring.
"Wait," I said as he was getting up, "Five more minutes."
"I gotta go to work, I'm already late," he said. Then he gave me a quick kiss on the lips before leaving.
I just laid there thinking about him, and how much I was falling for him. "Why is he so perfect?" I thought to myself.
Barry's POV:
I walked into my lab and Cisco was there.
"Cisco? What are you doing here, shouldn't you be at the lab?" I asked while I sat down to start working on my case files for the day.
"No way, you went on a date last night with Y/N," he said with a grin.
I just looked at him, still wondering what he wanted. I continued on with my work trying to ignore his questions about my love life.
"So...how was it?!?" he said impatiently.
"It was great Cisco...better than great," I said unable to stop smiling.
"You kissed her!" Cisco said happily.
"So what if I did?"
"How was it, were there fireworks"
"It's escaped definition, I'm having feelings for her that I didn't even know I could feel, feelings that I never had for Iris."
"Bro...you're in love," Cisco said walking over to me with a mile wide grin on his face.
"Yeah, maybe I am," I said.
Cisco then left, I tried to continue on with my work, but my mind just kept trailing off to the idea of Y/N. "Is this love?" I thought to myself.
Y/N POV:
I got to the lab just as Cisco was walking in, the moment he looked at me he began smiling.
"What" I asked.
"Nothing..." he said.
I raised my brow to him as he cracked and told me everything about his conversation with Barry at CCPD that morning.

"Wow, Cisco the way it sounds you're the one in love with him," I said with a smile.
"Hey!" he said, "Oh whatever here."
"What's this?" I asked curiously.
"It's a computer chip synced to the S.T.A.R. Labs satellite so that when meta-humans attack you and Barry will both be alerted."
"That's awesome, but why the computer chip?" I asked.
"I figured that you're smart and that you could probably sync that up to Gideon in your suit, and on your phone," he said.
"Thanks, Cisco this is great," I said while giving him a hug.
"Quick question," he said pulling away, "Where is your suit?"
I held up my ring, while Cisco had yet another fangirl moment. He began asking how it worked, where I got it, how I did it when I finally stopped him.
"Cisco...take a chill pill."
"Sorry, i-it's just so cool, I mean the quantum core processing and micro-compression that had t-...I see what you mean, I'm gonna be quiet now," he said as Barry walked into the cortex.
"Hey Barry, I said with a smile.
"Hey, do you wanna go to Jitters for lunch," he asked.
"Yeah, I'd like that," I said back smiling.
"Oh look at you two being all cute and coupley," Cisco said.
"Oh whatever," Barry said as he took my hand and we both sped to Jitters.
After we both ate lunch we decided to go for a walk in the park, when suddenly both mine and Barry's phones went off.
"Snart, Cisco and Caitlyn found him at some old abandoned warehouse," Barry said.
"Hm...I see bad guys like abandoned warehouses on this Earth too." He smirked before he ran off to grab his suit.

I activated my ring and headed to the warehouse ahead of Barry. I arrived and didn't see anyone at first when suddenly I heard a voice.
"So you must be Barry's new little sidekick," he said with a sinister grin.
"I'm gonna take a lucky guess and say that you're Leonard Snart, kind of and unfortunate name," I said back with the same facial expression.
"Well...looks like you're alone...I'm not."
I stood there for a second confused. Barry didn't say anything about him having back up. Then, suddenly a blast of fire and smoke came at me from behind, it was unexpected and hit me head on.
"Ow," I grunted as I rolled on the ground.
"This one is just for you," he said before hitting me with what looked like blue fire.
Just then Barry appeared, he took out Snart and his little friend, knocking them both out before coming over to me.
"Hey, you good?" he asked.
I could tell he was worried.
"Yeah, just cold," I replied.
Back at S.T.A.R. Labs
"You're a little cold, but other than that you're healing just fine, the frostbite will clear up in a few hours," Caitlyn said.
"Good," I replied getting up, as I did Barry walked back into the Cortex.
"Both in the pipeline, safe and tucked away, you ready to go home," he asked looking at me.
"More ready than I'll ever be," I replied. I stood up and winced in pain.
"Come on let me help," Barry said picking me up bridal style and rushing me home.
We were both sitting on the couch watching a movie.
"You okay?" Barry asked.
"Yeah, just cold."
"Come here," he said wrapping his arms around me.
The next I knew I was asleep.
Barry's POV:
I woke up to my alarm going off, Y/N was still in my arms she felt cold.
"Hey Y/N, it's time to wake up," I said shaking her a little.
"Y/N?" I said again.
"Y/N!" I was worried.
I got up and stood over her. I felt her and she was freezing, I lifted up her shirt to see where Snart hit her yesterday. It was worse, the frostbite was still there and getting worse. I felt for a pulse, she had one but it was weak. I picked her up and sped her to S.T.A.R. Labs. Cisco and Caitlyn were both there, Caitlyn looked confused until I explained to her what had happened...then she grew worried.
"Her body temperature is nearly half of what it should be," she said while scrambling to figure out what was wrong.
I looked at Y/N and started tearing up, "I can't lose her too," I thought to myself, and then I remembered. I sped down to the pipeline and started yelling at Snart.
"What the hell Snart!" I yelled at him, anger and pain in my voice.
"What? Your little friend finally feeling the effects of that blast...I thought she'd be dead by now," he said with a snarky expression.
"How do I save her?" I said pounding my fist against the glass.
"You can't," he said back sinisterly. "That blast was specifically designed for a speedster."
"No....no," I said backing up and running back to the cortex.
"Caitlyn, what do I have to do?"
"She need warmth, if you use your speed right you could create a sort of friction field around her,"
"Thus warming her up," I finished for Caitlyn.

Letters from a Dying World
Times historic are often penned after the fact in the lifeblood of the pitiful, forgotten masses. That roiling, uncountable crush of humanity, they who held the pikes and they who threw down the tyrants. Their veins opened by gazes academic, sharp and cruel, and pecked away at with quills, written out of their own story. The Second Dark Crusade was a time of such poignancy. A time when the light of man waned and flickered, choking in the acrid smoke of its own inadequacy. As befitting of such an age it has been covered more than a capital whore, and so I attempt not to tell that story again. That story of dull, unfeeling analysis. Neither here will you find the browbeating, propagandistic screeds so common in the hands of men, the light of youth still burning behind their eyes. Nay, here I shall attempt to cover fresh ground, not tread on the grave dirt of long dead authors. Here I shall attempt to tell the story of the small lives caught, unbeknownst to them, in the great and torrential downpour that we now call history. Here lies the true story of The Second Crusade. - Loremaster Ip'Qal
