"hopefully, you like this one. it's the last one on the market in your price range. it's beautiful, mr. irwin, just beautiful."
i roll my eyes at this guys fake enthusiasm as we both walk up to a bright, yellow house. "yeah, alright."
he gives me a smug look, and walks me up to the front porch. the front door is a little small, i have to almost duck to enter the house.
"it's a two bedroom, one bathroom house. actually, it was made for one person, so it should do you well." he says, a fake smile plasters his face. he shows me around and i'm not gonna lie; it's nice, but more importantly, it's cheap. and that's exactly what i need right about now. my parents recently kicked me out due to something so small and stupid. funny story really. you see---
"mr. irwin, sir. do you like the house?"
"oh, um, i mean it's nice and all but-"
"oh, god, i'm sorry, mr. irwin. it's starting to rain and that brings me to remind you about your neighbor."
my eyebrows furrow in confusion and a hint of curiosity. "what about the neighbor?"
"you see him, the blonde boy on thr porch?" he asks, pointing out of the kitchen window over to the neighbors house where there is, in fact, a blonde boy standing on his porch.
i nod. "yes."
"well, he's a bit odd. neighbors complain about him making too much noise during the day. at night, it is silent."
i scoff. "so a few noise complaints, i can handle it."
"so you like the house?"
i smile. "it'll do. for now."
he puts on, yet, another fake smile. "great! i'll get your paperwork."

after all the paperwork is signed, the man says i can move in by tomorrow if i'd like.
and i like.
on our way out and back to my car, the man runs up to me, clutching onto his black umbrella. i figure i maybe forgot to sign something, or maybe he has another house to show me, but no. it's actually something about the neighbor.
"one more thing about that boy," he says, pointing to the blonde boy who is now standing in the middle of the entry way to his house, smiling and looking up at the sky, arms spread out wide. the sight is...beautiful, yet very odd.
the man takes a few deep breaths, like he's - what's the word - disappointed in the boy.
"he only comes outside when it rains."

For Grass and Glory
Being old is difficult. But losing the love of your life to natural selection and being left in the dirt is even harder. Join Walton in his final journey as he figures out if his principals are just as important when there is nothing left to lose. Combating hypocrisy, youth, bad diet practises and a general lack of respect towards humanity, Walton's struggles are the true adventure of the everyday man. A story about unlikely friendship, being old, unexpected beauty, and the obsession of kicking a round leather ball in the best way possible. A story about a new world, and its possibilities. A story about the grass, and let us hope, a small bit of glory? Author note: This is a project of mine I started in 2016 and recently been writing for again. Writing for me is something I love to do, but can't always find the time for. This is also the reason I have not finished (or come close to) Ethereal Space yet. I get distracted. I started this novel intending to create something else, to break a bit with the current go to's story wise in the litRPG or virtual reality communities. So, this is my attempt at "Something different" I would love feedback or just your general opinion. But most of all, I hope it entertains. Enjoy!
8 165Dungeon Ship (Ash Rising)
What do you get when you mix together an uploaded human brain, two different sources of alien technology, and a love for video games? My name is Ash. Thats the only thing about me I'm still sure about. I've been having a rough time of it lately. I used to be human, but I'm definitely not human anymore. For awhile I was a weapon, then a space probe, and now... Well, now, I'm a kind of dungeon core. A space-traveling, alien-hybridized, freaked-out of my artificial mind Dungeon Core. Everyone that might have known human me is long dead. Anyone that finds out what I am now will almost certainly want to make me join them. I'm all alone. And I'm hungry. What the hell am I supposed to do now?

He wants to play the latest and greatest VRMMORPG game, but he can't muster up the cash for the fancy new proprietary hardware and membership license. After months of saving up cash and arduous work, he has built a behemoth of a machine relying almost entirely on seedy old technology and a DIY guide by some dude named "Jimmy Bob." This is the story of his entry into the game. This is also a story of intrigue, exploration, introspection, batshit crazy game design, and unintended but entirely predictable consequences. This is G.C.O. Undergoing a total re-write, mostly because I think things were too rushed rather than any content or direction changes. If you are one of the few who tried Shrike when it was briefly updating, consider giving it another shot. Of no relation to either The Great Crusade or the recent (in 2017 lol) Shrike book for Warhammer by Games Workshop. All similarities in these cases are superficial; please don't sue me. Feedback welcome and encouraged, never be afraid to review or comment. HQ/Kindle-Grade cover art. Book Cover 2.0: "From the Dark"

"How do you run the mafia?" he questions, wiping the corner of his mouth. "Well, I ground myself enough to not let the power get to my head, but I let myself get pissed enough to deal with motherfuckers like you," I say, calmly, picking up the hammer from Cameron's hand and making my way back over to the asshole, who flinches when I crouch down in front of him. "Now, I am going to break a finger for every question you don't answer, so I suggest you start talking," Previously called 'The Female Gangleader'
