Chapter 25: Fight, Tears and Apologies!
Once school was done and the twins took me back to my place I got an ear full from Ashley.
"What the heck was that at lunch?!" Ashley yelled as soon as the door was closed.
"What was what?" Amy and I asked.
"Really?!?" Ashley thought.
"LASH!! AFTER WHAT HE DID! HE MADE YOU CRY AND THEN YOU ARE ALL OVER HIM AT LUNCH!!" she yelled as we started to go upstairs to my room.
"It wasn't just lunch. They got all lovey dovey at her locker after you left to put the cake in your locker." said adding fuel to the fire.
"WHAT?!?!?"
"Calm down Ash!" I said walking into my room and putting down my book bag.
"HOW CAN I POSSIBLE CALM DOWN?! HOW MANY TIMES ARE YOU GONNA CRY BECASUE OF HIM AND TAKE HIM BACK, JUST TO HAVE HIM MAKE YOU CRY AGAIN!?!" Ashley yelled following me back down the stairs.
"You just don't understand." I said bluntly.
"Please don't fight." Amy thought.
"I don't understand? HE HAS MADE YOUCRY MORE THAN ONCE. HE HAS HURT YOU SOOO MANY TIMES AND YET YOU KEEP GOING BACK! YOU'RE AN IDIOT! SO WHAT IS IT THAT I'M NOT UNDERSTANDING!?!" Ashley continued to yell.
"Guys please stop...I hate fighting and I really hate it when you two fight. I don't want us to fall apart." Amy thought as she held back tears.
"You don't understand because you've never been in love, so until you have you don't understand why I keep choosing him...I'm done fighting. Amy sorry for all the yelling...I gotta go. If I don't leave now and cool of (plus I need to meet up with Lash) things will only get worse...Ash let's talk later." I said before waking out and taking the long way to the park as the argument with Ashley kept replaying over in my head on the way there.

"Everything ok?" A familiar voice asked me as I got to our tree.
"It's nothing Lash." I said turning to face him.
"Is it me?" he asked walking closer to me.
"No. It's not you." I said hugging him.
"Fight with your parents?"
"No." I said softly squeezing him tighter.
"Twins?"
"Yeah. Ashley...Amy was upset about it...she hates it when we fight...and so do I." I said choking back tears.
"It's ok. I'm here for you...If you want to talk about it I'll listen...if you don't want to talk then I'll understand Mary." Lash whispered in my ear; that pushed me over and I let the tears fall.
After about 15 minutes of being a crying mess with Lash holding me tight I was finally able to stop crying and calm down to talk to him about what happened.
"Do you want to talk about it now?" he asked wiping away the last few tears that fell.
"Yeah...Ashley was upset with me and that's what seemed to start it."
"Why was she upset with you?"
"Well after you left yesterday I was a little upset with how you said what you did and she saw that...that is also why I was upset with you this morning. Ashley wasn't there this morning when we made up; so at lunch when we were together seemed to upset. After school once we were back at my place she yelling about 'why would I go back to you after all the times you made me cry' and I also said a few mean things and I just...I don't know what to do." I said hugging him tighter.
"It's ok. I'm here for you, and I'm truly sorry for all the times that I made you cry. I never wanted to do that." he whispered while stroking my hair.

"I need to apologize as well. Not just to you and Ashley but to everyone that I ever got mad at or made worry about me. So Lash I'm sorry." I said burying my face into his chest.
"Then in that case. I accept your apology...Hey how about tomorrow night you go with me to a party?" he asked putting a finger under my chin and forcing me to look at him.
"A party?....Like with a bunch of people? I don't think my mind could handle that?"
"Please?" he asked with puppy dog eyes.
"Fine. Because you said please. I will."
"Good!" he said kissing my nose.
"Oh and what was up with you and Stronghold's friends?" he asked.
"I figured that hey have a right to some type of warning."
"What kind of warning?"
"Just that they should be careful and to keep an eye on Gwen because she is the evil mastermind at school. That's all I told them because that's pretty much all I know." I said poking his nose.
"I'm not sure that was a good idea."
"Afraid Gwen will find out?...I told you to stop worrying. I'm a tough girl and I can protect myself." I said lightly punching his shoulder.
"That's true, but I'm still going to worry...I love you and don't want you to get hurt so I can't help but worry."
"I know. That's how I feel about you being a part of this. So you promise me to be careful and I'll do the same."
"I will."
"Good." I said as we shared a sweet kiss.
Then my phone went off. It was a text from Ashley.
"I'm sorry Star. Can you come back so we can properly talk about this and so I can properly apologize to you?"
"Of course! I'm sorry as well so a proper talk would be great. See you soon back at my house ok."
"Ok. :)"
"I gotta go. I'll see you tomorrow?" I asked Lash as I put my phone back in my pocket.
"Of course. I love you." he said kissing my forehead and then we went our separate ways.
Once home I was greeted by Ashley putting me into a bear hug and apologizing like crazy. The apology night was filled with pizza, ice cream and a movie marathon of our favorite Disney moves. You know maybe I was wrong thinking that this year was going to be horrible. I have amazing best friends, I'm starting to make some new friends and I have the most amazing boyfriend who is not only understanding but is also starting to be more honest with me...maybe this will be a great year.
*Yay! I got another chapter down. I decided to work on this instead of a history paper because I love my readers more than school! Thanks for all the reads and votes! Love you guys!!!*

Unstable and weakened, will he be more hindrance than help? Can he become the warrior he once was?A Monk and a Monkey journey across a world...... where the remnants of technology are seen as magic, while pockets of humanity strive to drag themselves out of ignorance.... where the descendants of animal-human hybrids, once created as instruments of war, now seek to dominate the world as demons.... where beings who call themselves Immortals and Gods preoccupy themselves with selfish pastimes, ignoring everything else. Among other things, a story about growth, grit, and being better than the person you were yesterday. Here's my rambling on why I'm writing Journey West 5000. Journey West 5000 is my crazy ambitious writing project to adapt a classic epic called "Journey to the West" for a global, modern audience. It's a sci-fi story disguised as fantasy, and has some road trip + monster of the week elements (as does the original Journey to the West). No system, definitely no harem, gradual power progression. Hmm, what else can I put here so potential readers know what to expect? My writing style for now is mostly "show don't tell", because I believe that readers don't need to have everything pointed out to them, and that they should be allowed to make up their own minds about characters based on the actions of those characters. I'm also trying to be less long-winded (a weakness pointed out by some friends) in order to write according to something Neil Gaiman said, which is to write as though I'm the one who has to pay for every word, not the reader. This will bring down my chapter word counts, and might drive away potential readers, but I believe there's value in learning to compress and be concise. All chapters posted here will have been edited. Constructive criticism, comments, and feedback would be very much welcome and appreciated. Please, please help point out any typos or grammatical mistakes, I'm striving to minimize those as much as possible. Above all, I hope you enjoy my story.
