Chapter 24: More Surprises!
Once at school I went straight to my locker followed by the twins and thoughts from everyone.
"Who is she? Is she new?"
"Isn't she the one dating Lash?"
"Wow Lash is lucky to have her!!"
"Love her jacket!"
"She's so beautiful!"
I smiled until I turned the corner and saw an all too familiar face there. I ignored the smile he gave me and just opened my locker.
"Mary I..."
"Save It." I said bluntly.
"...Is that a new jacket? Where did you get it?"
"Does it matter?...I gotta get to class." I said turning to walk away and towards my class until a hand grabbed my wrist.
"Mary please wait!"
"Lash just sto..."I started to tell him to stop but was cut off when his lips met mine.
Before long he loosened his grip and pulled back and leaving me absolutely speechless as well as out of breathe. Meanwhile so many others stared and either thought "Ew! Get a room!" or "Aww, so Cute! Just like a movie scene!"...but mostly the first one.
"L...Lash..wha...why..why?" I stuttered but still couldn't find any words to say.
"Yesterday I got upset when I really shouldn't have. I'm sorry for that, I'm sorry for yelling, being tense and for hurting you. Please don't leave me again...don't walk away. I'm soooo sorry and I Love You and I'll do anything to make it up to you...you wanna know everything, wanna talk then we will. Tonight if you want! Just please don't leave me again!" he said desperately holding back tears.
"OH Lash! I'm so sorry for being upset with you. I just thought that...I did something wrong and that you hated me. I thought that you were going to Leave Me...all alone. And I acted mad so that I could hide how weak I really was." I said hugging him tightly.

"I'll never leave you all alone." he whispered in my ear hugging me back even tighter.
"Hey um...class is about to start...so can we go. You two love birds can talk and be lovey dovey later." Amy said worriedly, She's always been worried about being late.
"Alright...see you at lunch?" Lash asked letting go of me.
"Of course." I said kissing him lightly.
"Good. NOW LET'S GO!" Amy yelled grabbing my arm and dragging me to class...literally.
"Hey wait where's the cake at? I gave it to Ashley but where is she and what did she do with it?" I asked as we made it to our classroom.
"She put it in her locker. It's fine." Amy said as we sat down at our lab table.
"Oh! Hey Mary...oh sorry Star. Just wanted to tell you that I love your jacket! Italian? It's real nice, and good luck to you and Lash." Quinn said walking up to us with Will at her side before walking to their lab table.
"Lash may love you but he'll still help me...because of you...you are hurting yourself and him by being with him." her thoughts read.
"Is this class over yet?" I asked putting my head down on the table.
"It hasn't even started." (Bell rings) "Now it just started." Amy said giggling.
"Ugh I wish it was lunch already."
"Me too! I want cake!" Amy yelled.
"Miss Fredrickson please try not to yell about cake in the classroom. You will have time for that later, so please restrain yourself and focus on knowing your ray parts before the exam." Mr. Medulla said, which caused her to put her head down in embarrassment and make me laugh.

Thankfully thought of my classmates throughout the class were small and unimportant...except Gwen who kept going on about how I'm making it worse for Lash but he still wont stop helping her...I tried to ignore her the best I could so I would only have a small headache by the time I was saved by the end of class.
"Yay!! Lunch!! Cake Time!" Amy yelled beside me as we walked down the hall to the cafeteria.
Once we walked in, Amy rushed to our usual table where Ashley already was at with the cake. I looked around for Lash but couldn't see him...but what I did see was Wills friends seating with Warren Peace. I slowly made my way over there and heard the red head laugh loudly, then after that Peace got up and left the table.
"Is this still the cool kid table?" Glasses asked...I think his name is Ethan.
"Oh Will..." Layla I think is the red head and the one thinking that.
"Hey guys is everything ok?" I asked leaning on the table.
"You again?" Zak asked.
"Yeah. Me again. I'm trying to be nice and check on you guys but I you don't like it I'll leave." I said standing up.
"NO it's ok." Layla said stopping me.
"So you guys doing ok?"
"Yeah." she answered.
"Why were you guy talking to peace?"
"Oh...um...well...you see..." Lela stuttered.
"It was to make Will jealous." she thought.
"I get it. Will huh...that's ok then...Peace is actually a nice guy...like a few others here...seem cold and mean but are nice people once you get to know them...but I'm telling you again to watch out for Quinn and whatever she has planned...and whatever it is, will be for homecoming." I said softly an then turned and walked away back to my table where Amy was already stuffing her face with half of the cake gone.
"Hey where were you?" Ashley asked when I walked up.
"Just talking to some freshies. That's all." I said sitting down.
"Why?" she asked again.
"Do I need a reason?" I asked just as bluntly and annoyed as she did.
"Yeah!"
"I don't think she does." Lash said wrapping his arm around my waist as he sat down next to me.
"Fine whatever let's just eat what's left of the cake before Amy eats it all." Ashley said leading into a mouth full of cake argument which I tuned out.
"Don't get too involved with his friends. Gwen is already threatening you. Don't make it worse." Lash thought.
"I'll be fine. Don't worry so much about me. Worry about yourself and how this will affect you in the end." I whispered to him.
"But..."
"How about we talk about this later at our tree ok?"
"Ok." he said nodding, but his thoughts were still worried ones through the rest of lunch and all through class...actually just for the rest of the school day.
