Chapter 20: Will's Friends & Fair Warning?

That kid Will abandoned his friends for Gwen and falling into her trap; while his friends sat a table by themselves. I decided to do something by going to talk to them and try to warn them...that is if they will listen to me. Only way to find out is to try, so I walked over to them.

"Is this seat taken?" I asked looking at the red head, her thoughts told me she was the one with the most feelings for Will...she loved him.

"Hey aren't you that chick dating that Lash kid?" the blonde boy asked from across the table.

"Oh yeah! She is!" the one with glasses chimed in.

"Well the seat is taken! So you can leave." The blonde said trying to act all tough.

"Fine. Then I guess I wont tell you why your friend is over there with Gwen...Nice talking to you." I said turning around and only took two steps before the red head called out.

"Wait!...Y-You can seat here." she said smiling and pointing to the seat next to her.

"Thank you. I'm Star by the way. And you really shouldn't judge people before you get to know them." I said glaring at the blonde.

"Is that about..."

"I meant it for more than myself. Lash is actually a good guy, while Gwen is anything but nice; even though she seems like it." I said placing an elbow on the table and resting my head on my hand; after cutting off glasses.

"Well I'm Layla, this is Magenta and that's Zak and that's Ethan." she said pointing everyone out.

"Wait that guy dunks Ethan's' head in the toilet all the time, How can he be the Good Guy!?!" Zak said earning a death glare from me.

"Look he is a good guy, but he is forced to be a jerk in order to stay on Gwen's good side so that he can protect me. She is the evil mastermind behind everything, I never would have chose Lash if he was always like this. He is just taking orders from her, and I'm not saying that you can't get back at him; I'm just saying that don't hate him forever. If he tries to make things right after all this then let him ok. Don't Judge Him!" I said getting all defensive.

"Wait...Why is Gwen like that why is the problem and what does she plan to do with Will?" Layla asked me.

"I don't know her plan...all I know is that she has some kind of grudge against your friend and his family. Why? I don't know...but she is evil so you can't trust anything she says. So be careful and try to talk to your friend." I told her calming down.

"So why are you telling us all of this? Why do you wanna help us?" Magenta asked.

"Simply for two reasons. One because I'm nice and want to help you with your friend and I hate Gwen. Two because if we can stop her plan early then I can get my old Lash back and you don't have to worry about him bullying you anymore. Fair enough?"

They all shook their head yes in agreement.

"Hey quick question what is your power?" Ethan asked.

"I'm a mind reader."

"Hmph...I don't believe you. Prove it! What am I thinking right now?" Zak asked smirking.

"Typical....*sigh* Alright fine. You think this is stupid, that you shouldn't trust me. No way am I really reading your mind. Oh and also that you like to take Mag..."

"Woah ok! That's enough I believe you now...I still don't trust you though." he said cutting me off.

"Fine with me. I was just giving you a fair warning to watch out for Gwen. Talk to you some other time." I said getting up and walking back to my table but not before reading Ethan's thought of how a senior sat at their table and talked to them.

"Hey Star! Where you been?" Amy asked.

"Yeah. I was wondering that myself." Lash said in my ear as he wrapped his arms around my waist from behind.

"Just talking to that freshie that we have in our group for stealth to see if he is doing ok. Can't have him getting worn out by his other classes before our tournament." I said removing Lash's hands and sitting down.

"Make sense. So is he good?" Amy's bf asked.

"Yep." I answered and that was the end of questions from them...yet Lash had a few of his own.

"Why did you just lie?" he whispered into my ear wrapping his arm around my waist.

"What do you mean?" I asked turning to face him and realized he was closer than I thought.

"I saw you over at that table of Stronghold's friends."

"I was just giving them a fair warning."

"What if Gwen finds out? I don't want you to get hurt."

"Don't worry about her. She was too focused on getting Will to pay attention to her."

"Did they give you a hard time because of me?" he asked with a husky tone to his voice sending a shiver down my spine.

"Uh...N-no...well the blonde did at first but I set him straight." I said looking down at my hands in my lap.

"So cute when you get all flustered like that and blush...I'll fix everything." he said using his free hand to grab my chin and make me look at him.

"Lash...don't bother the....." I tried to say but was cut off by his lips.

"Awe!"

"Ewww!" The twins voices rang out.

Lash slowly pulled away and hearing the twins and noticing ever looking I blushed harder and buried my head on the table. While Lash rubbed my back saying cute; until the bell rang for next class. Lash didn't walk me to class said he had something to do...I had a bad feeling of what it was but I couldn't be late for class again. I'm sure it will all be ok. Besides soon is save the citizen and I can see him in action.
