Chapter 5: Biggest Decision and Big Explosion?

The next morning I got up and got ready for school like always. However there was one little thing different. The something different was the fact that I wasn't reading anyone's minds and thoughts, no I COULDN'T read anyone's thoughts. I was too busy with my own thoughts that it blocked me from reading everyone else's. My mind was so blocked from the decision I have to make today and everything that happened with Lash last night. Why am I still in love with him if he is such a jerk at school?....Why?....I want to say yes but I don't wanna get hurt again but....

"Star!" I heard Ashley yell stirring out of my thoughts, where I realized that I had been staring into the mirror.

"Uh Yeah?" I asked turning around to see her walking into my room.

"You ok?"

"Yeah why do you ask?" I said walking to pick up my book-bag.

"Well you were just starring into the mirror with a lost look on your face, you are asking me questions instead of reading my mind and you seem jumpy and nervous right now." she stated.

"I'm fine!...I just...had a bad dream and I can't get it out of my head." I lied walking past her into the hallway.

"Oookkk...well are you hungry?" Ashley said closing my door behind her and heading down the stairs with me following.

"Not really, you can have mine if you want." I said as we walked into the kitchen. Amy was already eating hers and about finished.

"You ok Star?" Now I was reading thoughts...Amy's to be exact. I shook my head at her to answer her. I lied again and shook my head yes.

"Well if you guys are ready we can head to school or skip if you really don't want to go? Either one works for me." Ashley said grabbing a candy bar from the secrect stash of it next to the fridge.

"I don't wanna go, but I need to. I say we leave now. The sooner we get there the sooner we can get school over with." I said grabbing a water from the fridge, putting it in my bag and heading to the back door.

"Ok let's go then." The twins said in unison.

Once the twins were out I closed and locked the back door behind us, my parents had already left early this morning or late last night...I don't remember. So I couldn't say "Bye" or "Love You" to them which I felt like I really needed to hear them say it to me right now.

"Ready?" Amy asked. I nodded my head and the twins took my arms like before and we were on our way to Sky High.

Once my feet hit solid ground I stood still and looked for Lash. I wasn't sure if I was looking for him so I could talk or so I could avoid him. Anyway I didn't see him so I headed straight for my locker and hopes of actually making it there without any Lash interference. I walked fast or practically ran so I could try and loose the twins so if I did see Lash they wouldn't know anything was up....well besides Amy.

I couldn't loose them. I was on my way to my locker thinking that he may be there waiting but as always when I turn that corrner that is right before my locker I found my answer. I saw Lash and Speed bullying a kid. I think it was that tall blonde freshman kid Zak I think...I don't know. I do know that Lash and Speed were pushing him into a locker when Lash said he would start changing. After they finally got the locker door closed Lash turned to me.

I felt so much anger that when he looked at me I didn't know wither to cry or kill him. So instead I just turned around and started to head to my class and just forget about my books. I tried to walk fast to get away but with Lash that stuff never matters. I felt his hand grab my wrist which caused me to stop.

"Mary please let me explain!" he said walking over to me. I jerked out of his grip.

"Explain what? We had this discussion last night. You said you can't explain but you also said that you will change. You said that you would stop, but you "CAN'T" explain why. This is soo confusing why don't you give me straight answers! Like why are you doing all this?" I said trying not to yell or cry.

"I really wish I could tell you but I can't. And I'm trying to change for you. I really am babe." he whispered to me.

"Don't you dare call me that!" I yelled pushing him.

"But what about last night?" he asked with some anger.

"What about it? You just answered your own question for me....I'm not taking you back."

"Mary Please Don't Do This!" Lash begged.

"Lash just stop...I gotta go. I'm gonna be late for class." I said looking down holding back my tears.

"I'm sorry....you better go. Don't want you to be late for class." he whispered with saddness in his voice.

I turned and rushed to class. when I got there I barried my head in my arms on the desk and let my tears out.

"Star I know you are having a bad day but um you need your book today." Amy told me rubbing my back.

"Crap....It's in my locker and I forgot to go get." I told her wiping the tears from my eyes.

"Yeah I saw...you ok?...Wait ofcourse your not why am I asking such I dumb question?" she said arguing with herself.

"It's fine I'll go see if Mr. Medulla will let me go back and get it. Hopefully this time I wont run into..."

"Mr. Lash? What can we help you with?" Mr. Medulla said cutting me off.

I looked up to the front to see Lash standing in the doorway holding books...wait he was holding my books! He still remebers my locker number and combanation?

"Um I'm sorry Mr. Medulla. I'm just here to drop off Star's books, she uh forgot to get them this morning." Lash said taking a step in not looking at me.

"Alright...Thank you Mr. Lash....Ms. Star please come and get your books. You will need them today." Medulla said motioning for me to come and get them.

I really didn't want to go up there but I wasn't going say no to my teacher. I could feel so many eyes on me and I read sooo many thoughts. Like "Are they dating again?" Or "Did she really go back to him? She could do better then him." or even "That lucky guy. He gets to have that girl again.". I tried not to hold my breathe too long but it was a little hard to do. I managed though.

I made it to Lash and he handed me my books giving me a half smile which I knew was his apolgatic smile.

"Thanks." I said doing the same back.

"You're welcome....Sorry again Mr. Medulla." Lash said, then he left. I sat back down and slunked down into my seat.

"Ms. Star next time try to remember your books so your boyfriend doesn't have to disrupt my class by delivering them to you....now everybody please turn to page 110 in your books. Follow the directions with a partner and complete this lab. If you can complete this correctly then you are already a step closer to making a freeze ray gun....begin!" Mr. Medulla told the class.

I partnered with Amy like always and with what all just happened a slammed my head onto the desk while Amy read the directions out load. I on the other hand was still hearing all kinds of thoughts about me and Lash and that it's not good. I was getting so upset and felt like diying. Then I read the idotic guys thoughts infront of us.

"Uh oh! That's the side about heat rays!".
