[time jump, so sorry]

Steve's POV

"Can I take your coat miss?" A tall man, wearing a black suit and tie stood by the door. Natasha gave away her jacket, making sure she didn't have any guns in there. She checked when no one saw of course. She smiled at me as we walked into the room. It was crowded. A lot of people were dancing or enjoying a few drinks at the bar.

It's been two months since our quick visit in Sweden. We failed the mission. We didn't know how to handle Bucky and someone else took over the mission. But when they got there, there was no trace of Bucky. Natasha and I hadn't spoken about the events that occurred there. It was almost as we had never left. Almost.

"Still don't dance, cap?" Natasha said. She looked at me with an emotionless face but I could see a hint of the smirk behind it.

"This mission isn't about dancing." I said. She looked at me and smiled.

"No it's not." She said as she took my hand and put it on her waist.

"Nat, what are you doing?" I said, knowing my dancing wouldn't impress anyone.

"Trying to fit into the crowd. Like we're supposed to." She said as she took her soft hand in mine and put the other one on my shoulder. "It's easy, I promise. Just follow my lead." She said, teaching me a few steps at a time. I looked worryingly around, didn't want to draw any attention. Natasha smiled at me.

"Relax. Pretend like it's just you and me here."

I laughed a little.

"That would make me even more nervous." I said, smirking. But the steps did get easier and soon I was actually pretty good.

"Thank you." I said as the dance ended and we had observed the mission. The mission, being the guy in the white suit in the corner of the room.

"Your welcome." She said and we walked slowly over to the other end of the room. The guy, a very known murderer and threat to well, the entire world, was going to see his last day outside bars. We didn't want to draw the entire crowds attention and decided that Natasha would lure him out of the room. Well, she decided.

She walked over to the corner where he stood. Her slim dress, outstanding figure and beautiful face drew the guys attention before she had even gotten there. He was waiting for the right time to make a move. She noticed that she had drawn his attention and sat down at one of the empty chairs a few tables away from him. She simply took a sip of her drink as he walked over. They had a quiet, intimate talk and after a while, they both went out of the room to the hallway. I went after them, as Natasha had told me, and met them in the hallway. To my surprise, he wasn't tied up and beaten to the floor. Instead, his gun was at her head.

"Think I'm stupid huh?!" The guy said angrily. Natasha didn't look scared. But I did.

"Please, put the gun down and you're free to go." I said, knowing my words wouldn't convince him.

He pressed the gun harder at Natasha's head, she made a hurt face.

"Why? It would be a privilege shooting someone this beautiful." He said, touching her cheek. My stomach hurt.

Natasha laughed and in a second, the guy was laying on the floor and she had the gun in her hands.

"Sorry." She said looking at me. "I was getting bored." The guy moaned in pain and mumbled 'bitch'.

Natasha laughed.

"Thank you." She smiled. "It will be a privilege putting you behind bars."

After a while, when I had calmed myself down, I took the guy and tied him up. The police got there and put him in a car, guarded with four other cops.

"Why would you do that? You could have died!" I said, rather upset, to Natasha.

"Oh stop it. I don't die. He would't have killed me anyway." She said.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"If he would have killed me, he would have done it. He didn't have anything to loose." She said like it was the first thing you learned in life.

"Why wouldn't he wait?" I asked, not understanding her point.

"It doesn't matter if you're a murderer. You want it done quick or not at all." She said.

"That means you could have gotten yourself shot." I said with an angry tone.

"So?" She said as she started to walk away. I grabbed her arm.

"So please don't do that again!" I said. Her eyes piercing into mine.

"Don't tell me what to do." She said annoyed.

"I'm not. I'm telling you what I wish. And that is for you to stop acting stupid." I said.

"Relax Steve." I hated it when she used my first name. It made my body go soft. "I can protect myself as you've seen." Of course I knew that but that doesn't mean she can get herself into danger willingly.

"I only care." I said, trying to sound less mad.

"Maybe you shouldn't." She said and walked away. I had no reason to stop her. Nothing to say came to my mind.

Natasha's POV

Steve's so annoying. I know he just want me to be safe but I had everything under control. I'm not a child. I do that stuff all the time and I survive. It makes the mission a little more interesting. I've tried keeping my distant from Steve. The events in Sweden wasn't good. He's seen me weak. He's seen me. It couldn't work either. The man with the big, red, pure heart and the woman with the little, black, shitty one. No one would accept it. It would be wrong towards him. And I have more important things to worry about. Such as Clint's birthday. Luckily, this year, it will be a celebration with his family. Which means no drinking, which means no drunk Tony, which means that everyone stays happy.

Laura and the kids are coming over to the avengers tower after lunch and Clint's all cute, pretending he doesn't know to make the kids smile.

We all, even Bruce who had gotten back from his trip, sat in the living room chit chatting.

"They're never going to want to leave this place." I said to Clint and he nodded.

"Yeah, I'm pretty much screwed." He said as YARVIS warned us that they were here.

"Okey everyone, take position." Clint said as he ran into another room and pretended to not know about it.

Steve's POV

Natasha opened the door and welcomes Clint's wife and his kids. The little girl, I think her names Lila, ran into Natasha's embrace and hugged her hard. Clint's oldest son, Cooper?, stood beside his mother and Laura greeted Natasha with a hug.

Natasha took the little Barton baby out of Laura's hands and smiled at him. Nathaniel. It's not hard to forget who he's named after. Especially after that story Natasha told us all. Clint wouldn't have named him Nathaniel if it wasn't for a bet she won. No one was surprised.

We all hid behind furniture and waited for Clint to come out. As he did, we all jumped forward and screamed "Surprise!". I'm honestly surprised this traditions is still on track. The kids loved it and ran towards their father with open arms. Clint acted surprised and Natasha laughed at his bad acting.

A while later, we were all enjoying each other's company. Bruce were telling Laura and Thor about the trip, Tony was showing Cooper some tricks with his iron man suit, Pepper was holding baby Nathaniel and I was sitting in a sofa chit chatting with Clint. Now and then, I looked over to sofa where Natasha sat with Lila in her lap. They were looking through a song book with lots of different songs.

"What's this one?" Lila asked, pointing at one of the pages. Natasha made a weird face.

"It's not a good one honey. I don't even know why this is in here. Pick another." She said as she changed the page with the song 'tili tili bom'. I was surprised by the sight. A Russian lullaby. Pretty awful. Of course Natasha had heard it.

"This one?" Lila asked Natasha and she nodded.

"Sure. Why don't you sing it?" Natasha said smiling.

"I don't know it. You sing!" Lila said smiling at Natasha. She didn't seem to want to but she couldn't turn down the smile on that kids face. So instead she started singing to Lila.

"I'm lying on the moon

My dear, I'll be there soon

It's a quiet and starry place

Time's we're swallowed up

In space we're here a million miles away"

The whole room became more quiet to listen but we all tried to not make it so obvious.

"There's things I wish I knew

There's no thing I'd keep from you

It's a dark and shiny place

But with you my dear

I'm safe and we're a million miles away"

But soon, the whole room went quiet.

"We're lying on the moon

It's a perfect afternoon

Your shadow follows me all day

Making sure that I'm

Okay and we're a million miles away."

Natasha held her hand around Lila's stomach and cuddled with her as she sang. It was as if she got lost in the song and Lila smiled all the way through it. Everyone else was shocked. It was the first time anyone had ever heard her sing. And no one had a clue that she was good. Only Lila. Natasha's eyes met mine for a second but she looked away, focusing on Lila.

When the song was over Lila kept talking to Natasha.

"Now, can we sing the one you always used to sing me when I go to bed?" Lila said but Clint came in between.

"You used to sing her to sleep? That's how she fell asleep all those times and you didn't tell us the trick?" Clint said, jokingly but kind of annoyed since it clearly had been a issue a few years back.

"I'm sorry Barton. I just, didn't want to hurt your feelings. You see, both Lila and I have experienced you singing voice and neither of us was that impressed." Natasha said, chuckling.

"That's right." Lila said, standing by Natasha as it was the only thing she wanted to do in life.

Clint laughed and grabbed Lila and put her upside down on his back. She laughed until her stomach hurt.

"Me too, me too dad!" Cooper said and ran after them. I went over to Bruce and got to hear about his journey. It didn't interest me though. I focused mostly on what Natasha was up to. She mostly played with the kids. They all loved her. Even Nathaniel. He fell asleep in her arms and she sat down in the sofa. It was pretty late and Laura, Clint, Cooper and Lila was getting ready for bed as Natasha watched over Nathaniel.

Everyone else had also started to go back to their little dorms and I said down in one of the sofas, watching Natasha keeping Nathaniel asleep.

"You're really good at that. You're so calm with them." I said and Natasha looked at me.

"This is the most terrifying thing I know." She said serious as her hand smoothly went over Nathaniel's little head. "He can't protect himself."

"Well, he's just a baby.." I said smiling. She smirked at me.

"But with you as an aunt, he'll know self defence before the age of four." I said jokingly.

"Four? I was thinking two." She said, smirking. "With this beautiful face, he'll knock down everyone in his way without even doing anything."

"Just like you then." I said and she rolled her eyes but smiled at the compliment.

"I'm everyone's biggest nightmare. Believe me." She said.

I was surprised since she actually was in mine. Only she was the only good thing.

"Maybe but you could be the good thing in a nightmare." I said.

She looked confused.

"There's no good things in any nightmares. Name one good thing in one of yours." She said.

"Well, you." I said and her eyes met mine again.

"I'm not good." She said seriously.

"Yes, you are."
