Author's POV

It was late evening and Natasha was sitting on the floor, her back resting against the door. She had spent all morning sitting on her bed, her puffy eyes were red and dark circles had already started to form underneath them. She'd skipped breakfast and refused to join the others for lunch and planed to do the same for the entire day but Clint had called her too many times, telling her the kids wanted to spend time with their auntie and she had finally gave in a few minutes ago. But as she had reached her door, she had heard voices from the hallway and had cracked her door open to see who it was. To her surprise, or better said, disappointment, she had seen Steve standing in front of his door with Sharon next to him, holding a carry on in one hand as he held the door open for Sharon to enter the room. Natasha had felt her heart tightening in her chest. She closed the door and leaned against it as she collapsed on the floor, hugging her knees.

This, this thing, this person, this whatever it was was nothing like Steve.

Steve was caring, he wouldn't hurt someone this easily, he wouldn't move on over one single night. He would fight to get her back, wouldn't he?

"So much for not sharing." Natasha mumbled as she rested her head on her knees. Not knowing how long she had spent there, she was startled when there came a knock on the door. Hesitantly, she got up to her feet and cracked the door open.

"You look awful, you know?".

Natasha sighed as she stepped aside, letting Clint walk in.

"So, I'm guessing you dropped the bomb last night, huh?" He asked as he walked to her bed and sat on its edge.

"It wasn't much of a bomb. He seems eager enough to walk away to her." She huffed.

Clint gave her a confused glare "Her?".

"Sharon." She sighed as she sat next to her.

"That doesn't really sound like cap."

"I thought so too, but I saw him carry her stuff to his room." A sad smile spread through her face. "He knew I wasn't worth it."

Clint frowned at her words and opened his mouth to protest but she beat him to it "I don't need pity nor comfort. I just need to get my mind of him, just like I did after Bruce!"

Clint kept silent.

"So, let's just get me to your kids."

He nodded and she grabbed a red sundress and a change of underwear before stepping to her bathroom to wash up. Half an hour later, they were in the elevator headed down. Clint told her everyone was by the beach, enjoying the perfect weather and water. As they reached the pool, Natasha couldn't help herself but search around for Steve, a deep fear of him being with Sharon clutching her heart, thankfully she found Sharon to be relaxing on the lounges next to the girls and Steve was no where to be found. She sighed, following Clint to where Laura was wrapping a towel around a speedo wearing wet Cooper who screamed with excitement as he saw Natasha "Auntie Nat! You missed swimming!" Making her smile.

"Oh did I? I'll join you guys tomorrow" she winked at him as she laid back on the son lounger next to them. Lila was sitting next to her mother but she seemed to tired and sleepy to notice Natasha's presence. All the girls had gone for a short swim but as the guys had decided to show off their swimming skills and things had started to get out of control, they'd rather spend their afternoon relaxing on the lounges. Clint scooped up Lila and walked Cooper back to the hotel as he couldn't stop sneezing.

Natasha laid on the lounge in silence, on one side were Laura and Pepper, the other Wanda, Maria and Sharon. She was frustrated with Steve just walking away from her. She knew she was the one who had asked for it and she wouldn't have backed down if he asked her to change her mind, but deep down, some part of her wanted him to try to talk her out of it, reassure her she meant more to him, she wasn't what Sharon had said.

But nothing.

He didn't bother to waist a single minute with her and walked away, and as if that wasn't enough, she'd seen him take Sharon's stuff to his room. She was sure Steve wasn't the kind to care for someone one day and move on to somebody else the next day, so what was he doing? Trying to get her jealous? Making her come clean with him?

She sighed as she couldn't clear her mind. Then she realized she hadn't spoke since she had sat down. This wasn't bad, she wasn't fan of chitchat and enjoyed silence, but she always had something to nag about with Laura and Pepper, usually concerning Clint or Tony sabotaging something. With Maria, they had a lot to talk about, a lot! But surprisingly enough, most their talks were around Fury and his secrets. Obviously, she didn't have much to talk about with Sharon. Wanda was the only person who would get her involved in normal small talks, but she hadn't been speaking or calling her all day. She turned her head to look at Wanda who was keeping herself occupied with her phone.

"Wanda, you ok?" She asked her with a crooked brow.

Wanda didn't turn her attention on her, nor looked up to face her "Yeah."

Natasha sighed "so I guess he told you, huh?"

Wanda only nodded her head and Natasha laid back on the lounge, closing her eyes "I just don't want to hurt him." She mumbled under her breath.

"Is that so?" She heard Wanda's soft voice and fluttered her eyes open. "Because I think you just freaked out and decided to run away."

Natasha fell silent.

"I just don't get it. You ran with it when it was Bruce, why not with Steve?" Wanda's tone was sad with a hint of frustration.

"I know... I just.... it'll hurt more when he leaves." Natasha whispered to her, not wanting to get Laura's attention.

Wanda kept her gaze on her as she closed her eyes and rested on the lounge, then Wanda's lips curled up to a smile and she went back to her phone, leaving the redhead to rest.

As the sun started to set, the guys got out of the water and walked to the girls. Tony, Sam, Bucky and Vision were slowly walking to them. "Hey there red, feeling better?" Tony asked as he sat next to Pepper and Natasha gave him a confused look.

"Barton said you're not feeling well, something about headaches." Sam explained.

"Yeah, I'm better, thanks." She gave Tony a reassuring smile as he was eying her suspiciously.

"So you'll be having dinner with us, right?" He asked her and she nodded in reply "good, we'll see you all in two hours." He smiled at her as he stood up and held out his hand for Pepper who took it with a soft smile.

"Nat, did you and Steve finished your mission report?" Natasha turned to see Wanda smirking at her.

"You did, didn't you? It's already overdue!" Maria looked at her with narrowed eyes.

Wanda had spoken loud enough for Maria to hear them, but she had also caught Sharon's attention and she was eying them as well.

"Um, something came u-" Natasha was cut off with Maria almost screaming at her.

"Romanoff you get your ass to the fifth floor and get those reports done before dinner!"

Natasha wanted to role her eyes or give her an snarky comeback but the death glare Maria was giving her made her stand up immediately and Wanda stood up with a smug smirk on her face "I wanna shower before dinner."

Natasha shrugged and they walked to the elevator in silent but something seemed wrong "hey, why did she say fifth floor?"

Wanda gave her a side glance "Steve's staying in Sharon's room. It's just the room under yours".

Natasha's eyes shot wide open as the doors slid and she had to get out. She hesitantly walked to the room she expected to be Sharon's. Before knocking on the door, she took a deep breath while reminding herself that Sharon was still on the beach when they had left them. She knocked on the door, a firm knock.

There was no answer.

She knocked again.

No answer.

Then a she felt warm breaths against her ear, followed by a gentle whisper.

"What brings you here, Romanoff."

Natasha turned around to find a smiling Steve standing right behind her, wearing a bottom down shirt and a pair of jeans. "Mission reports."

She watched his eyes look in hers, slid down to her lips and travel back up. "Steve, are you ok?"

He didn't bother to answer her, instead, he snaked one hand around her waist to grab the door knob, pushed it open and stepped closer to her. Natasha couldn't keep herself from stepping back but Steve didn't stop, he walked closer to her, making her walk backwards into the room.

As they were both a few steps in, he pushed the door closed with his feet. Natasha looked around the room, trying to ignore his stare. She didn't see anything too noticeable, just a glass of water and his phone on the nightstand, and then she saw his duffle bag resting on the floor. She turned to look at him

"Steve, why is your bag here?", as the words left her lips she felt her heart heaving.

Steve took another step toward her, his hands held a tight grasp on her waist, his eyes locked on hers.

"STEVE!" She scream-whispered his name, an attempt to get his attention.

"Oh, what? Did you say something?" He asked her with a devilish smile.

"Why is your bag here?" She asked him as she struggled to scape out his hold.

"I switched my room" he told her causing her to freeze.

"What?".

"I thought I'd get to spend more time with Buck if I'm closer. Just had to ask Sharon to change rooms." He told her in a nonchalant tone.

Natasha was silent for a few seconds before blurting out "You switched rooms? She didn't move into your room?".

Steve looked at her as if he had been stroked by lightning "What? Why you even think that?" He asked her dumbfounded.

Natasha looked deep in his eyes, a dark shade of pink growing on her cheeks as she drifted her gaze away, looking down "I just...I just saw her get in your room..." she trailed off.

A lopsided smile appeared on his face.

"You know what? Jealousy looks cute on you!". Natasha's head snapped to face him as she swatted his arm "I'm not jealous! Shut up!".

Steve laughed and pulled her to a hug as she struggled to free herself, still blushing. He leaned down to whispered in her ear.

"I'm not gonna let you run Nat. I just wanted you to have a short break."

Natasha felt herself melting in his embrace.

Steve scooped her up, walked to the bed and laid her in the middle as he laid next to her. He wrapped his arms around her and dug his head in her neck. Natasha didn't push back, didn't fight him, she gave in his touch. Steve was smiling in her neck when Natasha suddenly pushed him away and sat up straight, leaving the blonde in shock.

"Nat, what's wro-" he was interrupted by her squealing as she tried to get of the bed.

"Steve we have paper work to do" she almost shoved him of the bed. Steve curled one hand around her waist and pulled her to himself.

"Nat come on, not now!"

She struggled to get out of his hold "Steve, believe me when I say this, Maris will kill us!" She sounded all too serious for it to be a joke but Steve was biting his lips to hold back his laughter.

"Oh you think this is funny? If only she knew you were cuddling with black widow instead of doing the job she'd told you, she would come here and kick you just in the nuts!"

Steve's eyes grew wide as he burst out to laughter, causing him to fall back on the bed with Natasha landing just on top of him, her face a few inches apart from his. His laughing stoped as he looked her in the eyes. Natasha's hair fell down, framing her angelic face. Steve felt his heart skip a beat as his eyes traveled to her ripen ruby lips.

His hands rested on her hips as he pulled himself up, brushing his lips on hers. Natasha gazed in his eyes as she tried to read his mind. She didn't find lust, but affection and desire. Steve gently kissed her lips waiting for any sign of hesitation, but she didn't show one. She didn't push him away, didn't pull back, not only her body didn't stiff she relaxed at his touch, melting in his touch as she slightly leaned more on him. He parted his lips as his hands started to roam her body and brushed his tongue on her lips, seeking her permission. Natasha smirked ever so lightly, she didn't want this to be easy for him, she was stubborn and he had to fight for what he desired. Steve felt her smirk and it did nothing but to turn him on even more. His hands held a tight grasp on her hips as he pushed himself up, not breaking the kiss, making her sit on his laps, straddling him.

Natasha gasped at the sudden movement and he eagerly slipped his tongue in her mouth. Natasha's eyes shot wide open at his movements but she was lost in the moment as soon as his tongue reached hers, starting a passionate tango as they fought over dominance. Natasha having been pushed to a position to straddle him, could feel his arousal on her tights. She slowly lowered her self, pressing herself against his arousal, slowly grinding on him with an increasing pace, causing him to let out a groan in the kiss. He grasped her hips only to flip them over, towering her on the bed.

Steve looked deep in Natasha's eyes, loosing himself in the forest green as she felt herself drowning in his ocean. He leaned his head close to hers, allowing his nose to nibble hers.

"Do you trust me?" He whispered gently.

Natasha blinked softly "Always."
