(A/N: I'm probably going to at least start this chapter on my phone so if it's short/sucky/looks weird I'm sorry!)
"I am not your girlfriend" I grit through my teeth.
Liam laughs again, "Not yet, Darling."
Despite how much I want to hate him, I can't deny how much I love his laugh. The way his eyes crinkle when he does, and the way his straight white teeth show, surrounding are his perfect pink lips. I just love that.
"Liam! You brought a guest!" I hear a man's voice exclaim. I turn to see a man shorter than Liam by about a good three inches, but their facial features are similar. Their chocolate brown eyes are identical. The man engulfs me in a hug. I hug back. Liam's jaw clenches, "Geoff, Claire. Claire, Geoff," he says in an aggravated tone.
"Hello Principal Payne," I say as we pull away.
"You're a student at the school? And American?" He asks, as if he's never encountered one before.
"Yes, sir," I reply.
So far, Principal Payne seems pretty nice. I don't understand why Liam hates him so much.
"Well, Claire. Let me introduce you to my girlfriend, Magdaline." He tells me. As if on cue, a girl with brown curly hair walks out in a long red dress. No doubt she's beautiful and young.
"I thought you only had two kids?" She asks.
"One is Liam's uhmm..." Principal Payne starts.
"She's my-" "Tutor," I interrupt Liam.
I look over at him and he rolls his eyes. "Yeah," Liam says, "Tutor."
Part of me wants to laugh at Liam's remark, but another wants to... I don't know. I can't really explain what the other part wants. It's confusing and hard for me to explain.
"Well, dear, This is my son, Liam and my daughter Emma. Here is Liam's ... Uhh... tutor, Claire." Even Principal Payne feels how awkward that is to say.
"Geoff's chef, Margret has made a delicious meal for us to eat, hasn't she?" Magdaline says to us, then motions to Principal Payne.
"Margaret's the best chef around. Let's go eat, shall we?" Geoff says taking Magdaline's hand.

Okay, I admit that it was pretty weird and gross that Liam's dad's girlfriend was just in college, but still both seemed very friendly. Emma, Liam, and I walk over to a huge formal dining room. I've honestly never seen one so elegant or huge. The whole room was bigger than my New York Apartment. It had a huge chandelier in the middle that was full of dangling crystals. The table was made of glass and covered in food, as if the chef thought 5 hippos were guests at her dinner table rather than 5 people. Liam puts his arm over my shoulder, my body tenses at first, not used to the touch, but once I realize it's Liam, my body calms down a little. I don't entirely know if I can trust Liam, but I kind of want to. He's going to my school, I'll be his tutor, I'd rather not be fighting all the time.
"Like the room?" Liam whispers in my ear.
"It's beautiful" I admit.
He mumbles something under his breath to where I cant hear. I choose to ignore it. Liam pulls my seat out for me. I smile and thank him. Tonight, Liam is acting like a completely different person. I don't know if it's because he know his sister will kill him if he's not nice to me, or if his Dad will kill him for being rude, but I like this new Liam, sadly, I don't know if he truly exists.
"So Claire," Principal Payne starts off, "How long have you been attending Riverbank High?"
So much stuff has gone on, I've forgotten I only moved here a few days ago. Everything has happened to me so fast.
"Just a few days," I admit.
"A few days, hm?" He asks, "How has your experience been so far."
I look at Emma and Liam. I've had a good mix of bad and good on all of my days here, I almost don't know what to say.
"It's been a lot different," I say.
A wave of relief goes over Liam's face. As if I'd tell his own father about the experiences I had these past few days with him. Well, I've never really gone into detail about anything Liam and I discuss. We really don't "discuss" much. Usually we just fight or argue. Tonight we hadn't fought much, though.

"Claire?" Emma snaps me out if my trance.
"Huh? Oh, I'm sorry." I say.
Principal Payne laughs, in the same way Liam's eyes crinkle when he laughs, His do too. "It's fine, dear. How is it different?"
"Well, the way teachers teach, the voices, the way kids behave, everything, I guess." I tell him.
Liam hasn't said a word throughout dinner. Not a single word.
"Did you know Emma plays piano?" Magdaline asks.
"I had no idea," I say and look at Emma. She seems embarassed.
"Emmie, could you play something for our guest in the ballroom?" Principal Payne asks.
"Ballroom?" I ask subconciously.
Principal Payne laughs again, "Yes, Claire, we have a ballroom. Liam, could you escort our guest to the ballroom?"
Without a word, Liam gets up from the table and pulls my chair out for me. Once I get out of the chair, Liam holds out his hand. I contemplate as to take it or not. This Liam is almost unreal, but yet I knew he was. I take his hand, my hand gets this tingly feeling, I don't really know how else to describe it, but I love it. Liam guides me through the house.
"Your house is huge," I say striking up a conversation.
"A lot of people say that. Others are confused as to how my dad bought the house." Liam replies.
"How did he?" I ask out of curiousity.
"He didn't," Liam says.
"He didn't?" I inquire.
"My mom did," he tells me, "C'mon. I wanna show you something before we go to the ballroom."
Liam leads me into a room with a huge curtain over something. Liam lets go of my hand, and pulls the curtains away from the wall. It reveals a huge picture. I couldn't tell if it was a painting or a photo, but its of a woman with perfect straight blonde hair and blue eyes that matched Emma's. She looked a lot like Emma in many ways.
"I thought I'd intoduce you to the entire family," Liam says, "This is my mom, Claire."
"Woah," I say admiring the image in the wall. I feel fingers intertwine with mine and immediately know they're Liam's.It makes me look at him and smile. He smiles aswell, "You remind me of her," he says.
"How so?" I ask.
"You have that spark, I was never able to find out what it was with my mom... but I'm bound to find out what it is with you" He admits.
I smile when he says that, and for the first time, a smile grows on Liam's face, "Let's go to the ballroom," He says. I nod in agreement and we go.
Once we arrive, Emma is at the Piano, while Principal Payne has his arm around Magdaline
"Ready, Emma?" Principal Payne asks.
Emma nods and begins playing a sweet, slow soft song. It's beautiful. Completely and wonderfully beautiful.
"Liam, why dont you lead our guest in the dance your mother taught you?" Principal Payne suggests.
"Geoff, I haven't done the dance in years," Liam says.
"Oh c'mon, Liam. Claire would love it," Magdaline exclaims.
Liam sighs, and asks me, "Claire Peters, would you please have this dance with me?"
I smile, but I can tell bad memories would be brought back fro Liam, and "I don't know how to dance" I admit.
"I'll teach you," Liam says and smiles, ensuring everything will be okay.
So I take his hand, and he pulls me close.
The way our bodies fit together as we danced was perfect. The dance was fairly simple. I look over at Emma and see her smiling. It makes me do the same. I look at Liam, and discover he's looking at me. His face turns a cherry red and he turns away. Once the dance was over Liam and I kept our bodies pressed together as if it were the most casual thing in the world because... they were meant to stay there.

8 3207780, or: Children of a White Rider
As one war ends, another begins. The year Fastidious: 7780 marks deteriorating relations between the Siralians, devout sailors of the Ordos Canticula, and the Ardalians, matchless fire mages ruling neverending farmlands. In the shadows, Ardalian rebels successfully unlock an ancient magical gate. Their desire? A soldier, immutable, unstoppable, and enslaved. Eli Stuart and his fiancee Patricia Secord find themselves thrown into a strange world. Trapped in a land of hostile magic and alien politics, the two of them must use their newfound powers to make alliances, stop their enemies, and ultimately reunite. However, something goes wrong. In this chaos, as the world begins to unravel in foul ways, something else stirs. Something else found its way through. Author's Note: I will update this story as often as I can. I am quite busy and write this during breaks at work. This is one of those goon-squad stories with a million characters, so "dizzying" might be a good way to describe the energy. Much of what builds up to the first arc happens in the first ten chapters, which are quite long. For that reason, if you have difficulty getting through the story, I understand, though things don't really start happening until Chapter 8-10.
