When I waited for the bus stop, no one else was at my stop. I don't know of that was normal, or they all were hiding. I don't think small towns like Riverbank are used to new people. Once the bus stops I look at the bus driver. He's got a cigarette in his mouth and doesn't look very kind.

I step onto the bus. I see it's nearly full. Everyone stops what they're doing and stares at me, as if I'm the first entertaining thing they've seen in years. I find and empty seat and sit. Great. My day hasn't even started yet and I'm already classified as a freak. The next stop, a girl sits next to me. I don't pay attention to her at first, the only reason she's sitting with me is because there's no other seat.

"Hi, I'm Ashley" I hear a cheerful voice say.

I look toward the girl next to me, she has a huge smile on her face and is looking directly at me.

"Claire," I tell her with a small wave.

"Hey, you're American!" She exclaims.

"Yup," I say.

"America must be beautiful," she tells me.

"Well, it's pretty much the same as here," I reply.

The bus comes to a sudden halt.

"WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING!" I hear the bus driver say. Everyone turns to the windows on my side of the bus. I see three motorcycles zoom by. Their drivers were drowned in tattoos.

"Stupid Wolves" Ashley says.

"Wolves?" I ask. They seemed human to me.

"That's what they call themselves. The wolves. There's Louis, he loves pulling pranks and egging houses most. Then Zayn, he's pretty calm. Besides Louis and the Paynes, he keeps to himself. He's dating Emma. Emma Payne. I had him as a lab partner once. He's not so bad. Finally there's Liam. Heartbreaker. Big time. Don't fall for him. You'll regret it. I'm surprised he hasn't gotten a girl pregnant yet. He's self centered. He's Emma's brother. Emma's pretty nice, though." She explains.

"Wow," I say. The motorcycles start following the bus.

Before I know it, were at school. The bus driver let's us out. Ashley starts showing me to the office. She seems really nice.

"I don't get my welcome to school kiss, love?" I hear a deep voice behind us. Ashley and I turn around.

"Harry!" Ashley had screams running up to him. They hug first, then kiss. I stand there pretty awkwardly, then Ashley and Harry walk up to me.

"Harry, this is Claire. She just moved here from America." Ashley says, holding Harry's hand smiling. With his free hand, Harry hold it out for me to shake, I do and say, "Hi Harry."

"Woah you are American," he exclaims.

"Fully," I smile.

Out of the corner of my eye I see the same three motorcycles park. I turn my attention back to Harry and Ashley. "Okay babe, I'm going to show Claire to the office and around campus, okay?" Ashley tells Harry.

"Alright, love. See you later," he kisses her head and Ashley nearly pulls me to the office.

"What was that for?" I ask, not trying to be rude, but she seemed to be in a hurry.

"Payne was looking at you," she says.

"Payne?" I ask, confused.

"Payne. Liam Payne. He doesn't like his first name, so he tells everyone to call him Payne." She tells me, seeming concerned.

"Promise me you'll try to stay away from him," she says.

"Wh-" I start.

"Promise me." She demands.

"Uh... Okay. I promise." I say.

"Good," she tells me, "Let's get your schedule."

We walk in the office. Ashley tells the secretary why I'm here. The lady smiles nicely and we go to her office to get my schedule. We're in there a while, but she finally finds my schedule.

Once we leave her office,I see a boy covered in tattoos storm out another office.

"I don't want to kick my son out my own school!" I hear a voice say from in the office.

"This stupid school is all you talk about! If I weren't your son I'd think this school is." The tattoo covered boy says, and storms out.

Ashley sighs, and we walk out... What happened back there...? It's none of my business, though really.

"We have the same lunch!" Ashley says smiling,"You can sit with Harry, Emma and I. Sometimes Zayn joins us."

"Emma?" I ask, "Liam's sister?"

"Yeah, Payne's sister." She says.

"Was that him back there?" I ask, "Li-Payne. I mean," I say.

Ashley sighs and nods,

"He and his father never get along. It's been this way as long I can remember."

"Wow..." I say. I guess Liam and I both have Daddy problems. Calling him "Payne" sounds weird.

My morning classes go pretty well. I like most of my teachers. They all seem pretty nice. I grab my lunchbox and try to find Ashley. I see a girl run up to me, "Claire, right?" She asks.

"Uh... Yeah." I say.

"Hey, I'm Emma." She says with a smile.

"Emma Payne, right?" I ask.

"That's me!" She tells me with a smile,"Ashley sent me to get you. C'mon!"

We walk over to a table I see Harry and Ashley sitting across from me. They're smiling and being cute. As Emma sits down, a boy full of tattoos comes behind her and covers her eyes. She giggles and says, "Hi Zayn."

The boy smiles and sits next to her.

"How's your first day been?" Ashley asks.

"Pretty good." I say, "I really like my English teacher. Mr.Bronson?" I tell her.

"Mr.Bronson is pretty cool," Harry says.

We talk about my day. As I put my apple down.

"Thanks for the apple, Love" I hear an unfamiliar voice say.

I look at the person... Oh no... Liam.
