《Alaska: Queen of the Vampires》Chapter 36: We're Meant To Be

I groaned in pain as my eyes blinked open and adjusted to the sunlight. SUNLIGHT! Where am I? It took me a while to realise where I was. I was in Ally's house. I tried speaking but my voice was raspy due to lack of water and food. The past few months being held by that bastard Gabriel had been hell. I just wished to die soon. How did I come here?

Did Ally find me?

I held on to the edge of the bed as I pushed myself to stand on my two feet. I fell to my knees the moment my hand lost contact with the bed. I cursed Ezekiel Gabriel as I crawled around the room on all fours. I stopped abruptly and stared in front of me. I'd just dragged myself into a pool of blood and a body lay beyond it. I'd seen that rusty hair and slim figure all my life.

It was Ally's mom and she was dead.

I dragged myself out of the room in search of Ally. Ezekiel had been here, hadn't he? The hall and kitchen were a mess with things thrown around and pieces of glass scattered everywhere. I saw the bag I'd gifted Ally for her 18th birthday. I opened it and found her phone. Will Ezekiel know if I call the cops? I cursed aloud as I dialled the person I hated the most after Gabriel.

"Hey," Arian's hoarse voice came through the phone.

"It's me," I said.

"By saying it's me, I'm not going to know who you are," he replied amusedly, "Anyway, where's my mate, Noah?" I sighed defeatedly. I was right then. Something bad had happened here and Arian knew nothing about it either. I'll freak out over the fact that they are mates later.

"We have a problem."

Ten minutes later, Arian, his older cousin and two good looking females came to the Ivanov mansion and demanded to know where their Queen was. The males were all tall, well built and beautiful like they were members of One Direction. "I never liked Teresa anyway," Adrian said when he saw her body lying in a pool of blood. Arian kept quiet the from the time he entered the house.

"We should focus on getting Alaska back," I said.

"Clarence should be our main priority. He's the mayor of this town and he may know more about Ezekiel's plans and secret locations," Adrian suggested. Milan, the supposed Werewolf Queen looked at the witch Michaela and then at Arian.

"Avian's tracking his scent," Milan told the boys.

What a ridiculous name.

"But," she continued, "that shouldn't be our priority right now. We need to-"

"She's my priority!" Arian hissed.

They all sat quiet and nodded. Well, at least the man has some sense. Maybe Ally will be fine with him after all. It stings to think of her with another man but he'll give her so much more than I will ever be able to. I observed Arian and watched him tense and make eye contact with me. The last time we spoke was before I disappeared. I'd told him that having him as a son, it was no wonder that his mother had died.

The doorbell rang and I went to open it.

Out there, stood Clarence Ivanov and a tall burgundy haired guy with pale skin. I never thought that I'd find a guy with burgundy hair attractive. Huh, I must've hit my head somewhere. My green eyes met his blue ones and I cursed.

It was like I'd been struck with lightening.

"." He smirked.

Holy Moly.

No no no. I'm not gay.

Hell, I'm in love with my future queen. This can't be right. Ezekiel had told me all about vampires and werewolves when I was trapped underground but the bastard skipped the part about gay mates. Something tells me he did it on purpose. I heard Arian chuckle as he walked up to us. Oh man, I'm going to be related to this sadistic fuck. This can't be real.

"Is being my mate really so bad?" Avian asked nonchalantly.

Damn it, they can all hear my thoughts. What am I even supposed to say? "I-"

Clarence burst out laughing. "I always knew you were a gay as fuck sissy! Good, you'll be stuck with this red headed freak for all eternity!" Before I knew what I was doing, I punched him and he fell to the floor.

HOLY SHIT THAT HURT.

"Good to know that you're already defending my honour," Avian murmured in my ear as he took my hand to inspect it. All of them watched our every movement so I pulled my hand away in embarrasment. He clenched his jaw and stomped inside. "Careful," Arian said, "You don't want to piss him off."

I rolled my eyes and muttered a whatever to the king. "Oh and Noah," he called out, "I'd really appreciate it if you stop thinking about my mate all the damn time."

My cheeks heated as I walked in quietly. Damn Vampires. I took a seat opposite Avian and stared at my shoes as Arian dragged Clarence into his own living room and threw him against the wall. "Clarence will give us Gabriel's location. We just need to find a way to kill that son of a bitch and resurrect Cara," he said.

Clarence huffed. "And why should I help you, Majesty?"

"Because you don't want your town knowing about the mayor's affair with a girl his daughter's age, do you?" I asked. They all looked at me in shock. "Yeah, yeah, I know," I sighed, "I was following this bastard around because I knew he was intimate with my sister. I thought if I threatened to leak their pictures, he'd leave her alone and that's when I overheard him talking to Gabriel about Ally being possessed. They caught me before I had the chance to escape."

"Why is Ezekiel doing all this?" Arian asked Clarence. Ezekiel never really did tell me even though he was a massive show off. "All he said was that he'll make my daughter the Queen if I agreed to let him transfer Cara's soul into Alaska."

Arian shook his head in disgust but said nothing to his mate's father. I looked across the table to see Avian staring at me shamelessly. I raised a brow but he just grinned and continued staring. I wonder how many other guys he's stared at. Or am I the only one?

Whatever. I don't care.

"So now?" I asked.

"Now," said Arian, "We go to church and get down on our knees."

"YOU want to PRAY?" Avian snorted. "I thought you considered yourself God."

I chuckled. "Of course I'm a God. We're going to church to pay Dryden a friendly visit," he said. Adrian raised a brow at his cousin's statement. "You think it's a good idea to go to the white witch who kidnapped your mate and forced you to turn off your humanity?" Arian shrugged.

"We don't have many options, you know," I murmured.

"Fine then. Let's go."

I had know idea who this Dryden son of a bitch was but I hated him for kidnapping Ally. I didn't even get to see her when she came to rescue me. Dumb me just had to be unconscious when she came. With her mate. Whom she's been living with apparently. I really need to move on. I've got a mate of my own but it's weird that he's a guy because I'm pretty sure I'm straight.

"You're embarrassed not because he's your mate but because of what it will mean about you," Adrian told me. I sighed, remembering that he could read my thoughts. I'd chosen to drive with Adrian to the church while the others used their supernatural speed to get there.

"Love doesn't have a defined form, Noah. You don't develop feelings for a girl just because you're a boy. You like someone who makes you feel complete. You love someone whom you enjoy spending time with. Be Avian's friend and see if he's a good buddy. That will give you the answer to whether or not you want him as your mate."

I thought about what he said and nodded. He made a good point. Maybe Avian was feeling exactly how I was. Hell, he's a prince. He should be the one thinking of rejecting me. Not the other way round.

When we reached the church, Arian and Milan were missing. Avian and Michaela stood outside grimly. "What happened?" Adrian asked. They just shook their heads and kept staring ahead. What the hell?

Milan and I walked into the church and kept Michaela and Avian waiting outside for Noah and Adrian.

We saw Dryden sitting at the alter and drinking wine from a chalice. Jesus. Pun intended. He looked at me and smiled slightly. I clenched my jaw remembering how'd he'd raised Alaska's limp body in the air and threatened to throw her onto the concrete floor and smash her body.

.

"We would like your assistance."

"With a certain hybrid who happens to have your mate?" He asked smugly. I clenched my jaw but said nothing.

"Why do you think I made you turn your emotions off?"

"Because you're an asshole?" I replied callously.

"King Arian, you've heard of the white witches trying to reunite the vampires and werewolves, correct?" He asked as he circled me slowly. Someone his age shouldn't be alive; let alone walk.

"Dryden we're not here to have tea with you but even if we were, I wouldn't drink your tea because you're a creep," Milan said, "So get to the point."

"My point, children, is that I'll give you what you want if you give me what I want."

"What I want is for my mate to come back to me safely. I really couldn't care less about what you want but if it gives me my mate then yes it's yours," I told him impatiently. He could ask for my kingdom and I wouldn't say no. Probably. White Witches don't deal in money. They deal in prophecies and promises and other shit that no one gives a fuck about.

"I'll tell you how to kill Ezekiel Gabriel and in return you'll reunite the werewolves and witches. By my way," he said.

"Deal."

We shook hands but I didn't know.

I didn't know that he'd ask for something that would make my mate hate me forever.

Although its title includes witches, the book will mainly be based on WEREWOLVES so please give it a try! :)
