《Nightwalker》Chapter Fifty-Seven

Adelle was beyond angry and I couldn't help but find amusement in the way her face went as red as her hair and it looked like she was about to burst a vein in her forehead. I swung Qoy lazily as I felt myself become buzzed with mana, both dark and pure, it made the necklace around my neck hum in delight.
My fangs lengthened and everything was in stunning detail while also binging tinged with red and black. I must look scary because I could feel hesitation flow through the little army of Hunters standing behind Adelle.
"I'll tell you again, if you don't want to die then leave and I will not hunt you." I told them while sweeping my gaze over them and meeting the most nervous humans eyes, which had them flinching and stepping back.
"Like hell they'll run, cause if they do they will no longer be a Hunter and protect this world from unholy creatures like you!" Adelle spat. "Anyone who runs will be forsaken by the Human, Lord Zehava and will never again be welcomed into the Church!"
I sighed and shook my head in disappointment that Adelle's terrible speech made some of the humans gain back a slither of confidence but didn't lessen the fear. Idiots.
"Fine, your funeral." I shrugged and grinned while I released some mana to create a few replicas, which mad even Adelle stepping back in shock. "What? You can have an army but I can't?" I teased while my replications spread out.
"Kill her!" Adelle screeched as she tried to rush me. Has she gotten more stupid with each time we've fought or is it just me? With barely a thought the ground where she was about to step rose up tripping her, sending her crashing onto the ground. She looked really angry, I mean, really really angry right now.
My eyes widened in shock while I quickly jumped to the side when the crazy lady shoved her hands into the ground and managed to pick up a huge bloody chunk of the ground and threw it at me! I rolled along the ground but quickly rolled backwards when her fist slammed into the ground where I was. The earth literally rose up and cracked where her metallic fist sunk into the ground. It was terrifying and surprising. I cannot be hit by those hands, or I'll definitely be losing a part of myself. I'm surprised that I didn't die from her first hit when I came through the portal.
But it seems she can't control the strength of them just yet. I quickly jumped to my feet and used Qoy to block and deflect a swing from Adelle. Her hand hit a close by tree and I was expecting her hand to go through it much like it did to the ground, but all the tree did was shudder a little before staying still.
"How long have you had those hands for? Because it seems you have no idea how to use them." I laughed at her.
"Shut up! It's your fault I need them in the first place!" Adelle screamed. "Like you know how to use your artefacts! All you're doing is swinging that thing around. It probably hasn't even accepted you as its wielder yet."
I grinned at her as I hear Qoy chuckle in my mind. Maybe we should show her who exactly I am.
And how are we going to do that? I asked him not entirely surprised that I could speak to him much like I can with Beatrice and Anon.

I felt like he was grinning and I could feel him sucking in dark mana from inside me. Much like what happens when I create a replication, dark mana surrounded me before it moves to form a figure. I gapped in surprise as Qoy appeared beside me.
He rolled his shoulders back and tilted his head from side to side, cracking it each time before he let out a sigh. "That's better, being cramped up as a sword for so many decades really tenses up my body." He groaned.
I just stared wide-eyed at him because I had no idea that it was possible for him to become human.
He looked at me with his black eyes through his long hair and shot me a smirk. "Let me deal with this newborn while you just stand there and watch looking pretty."
I scowled at him but was still too surprised to argue. "Fine." I stated and focused on my replicas who were taking down Hunter after Hunter, unless they dropped their weapons and ran. I turned back to watch as Qoy attacked Adelle a sword appearing in his hands looking exactly like he does in sword form.
I ducked as a spear nearly decapitated me. I spun away when it suddenly came back up from where it had pierced the ground. The blade at the end of the spear was black while the shaft was made of dark wood had mana ruins engraved along it telling me that it was a Vojjor vishaferat. I watched as the spear went back to a girl who couldn't have been older than fifteen summers. She scowled at me with immense hate like she had a personal vendetta against me. Her eyes were a light brown like the soft brown fur of a small mouse, her hair was much the same colour as it was tied back in two long braids down her back.
I didn't like how a child like her was being forced to fight even if she seems to hate me personally. "What have I done to deserve your anger?" I asked her softly while she stood in front of me with her spear.
"You're a beast! A disgusting murdering beast that doesn't deserve to live!" The girl shouted at me. I could see the tears trying to force their way past her resolve, it upset me that I was causing this girl such pain and that I dint know how I caused it.
I looked at the ground sadly not wanting to out up a fight if this girl comes at me with her spear. "May I at least ask what I did to deserve you calling me a murderer. Though I know I am. I completely agree. I'm a creature made of darkness and evil and spent the last two weeks recked with guilt for what I've done... but I highly doubt you care." I sighed. I am a murderer. I've killed both humans and other creatures without regret or thought of the consequences that may cause on their families. It's disgusting, I'm disgusting.
The girl stood trembling, fighting her tears as they pooled on her light brown eyes. "My mentor, my master, my friend and the only family I had left. You killed her! You killed Sylvia!"
Ah, once again the murder of my friend has harmed yet another life I did not know about. I should have seen this coming. I placed my hand to Rhoa az on my thigh softly wondering if she'd come if I asked. I placed pure mana into the hunting knife and pleaded for Sylvia to appear in front of us. "Please Sylvia, let me apologise for what I've done and let this young girl say goodbye." I asked softly out loud.

"Don't say her name!" The girl shouted nearing full hysterics of anger and sadness.
She ran at me with her spear. I could tell she was well trained but her emotions made her stiff and forgetful. I would have allowed the spear to pierce me but with a silver light I was protected by a sword wielded by my friend I killed. Sylvia stood in front of me with her sword pushing away the spears tip while she smiled sadly at the wide eyed girl.
The girl jumped back and I could tell that she was truely surprise by Sylvia's appearance. "What form of magic is this?" The girl asked in disbelief before anger clouded her face. "What?! Is the knowledge that my mentor is dead not enough for you to torture me with that you now have to bring out a... a mirage of her right in front of me?! How are you so cruel?"
Her words stung in the worst way but I said nothing.
"Eliza." Sylvia sighed softly with a sad shake of her head.
"How do you know my name! And don't call me that! It's Elizabeth to you, you fake!" The girl spat out viscously.
Sylvia raised an eyebrow when she was cut off. "Did I not train you better than that Eliza? Where did your form go? Yes, Vaden would have allowed you to hit her if I had not interfered but had she been a real opponent after your life you would have died before you were in reach. I'm disappointed in you Eliza."
"Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!" Eliza screamed with her tears finally falling down her cheeks. "Stop talking like her! Stop sounding like her! Stop acting like her when you're not her! Just stop... just stop... please."
My heart broke for the girl as she started to sob, dropping her spear beside her as she fell to her knees. Sylvia walked to the girl and knelt beside her placing a hand to her quaking back. "It's me Eliza, it really is." She whispered while hugging the girl to her. "I'm sorry I left you. I'm sorry I didn't tell you that I was leaving, but I believed that you were strong enough to handle yourself. You are strong enough to handle yourself. I shouldn't have left you like that Eliza and I'm sorry. You were my only student, and I'm so proud of you. Please understand why I had to leave, why I allowed myself to die. This hate inside you, that is the exactly the same hate I held within myself for years. Too many years. I hated feeling it. It was a burning pain within me that just kept getting worse, until I met Vaden and I understood. I understood that humans can be just as bad as any creature we for some reason deem, unnatural or unholy, just because a man who's lived too long tells us so.
"Eliza, this hate you're holding towards Vaden and other creatures isn't right. It's dangerous and will do more damage to yourself than anyone else. So I ask you, please, will you go with Vaden and the others and learn from her what I did. Learn that everyone and everything has both a good and a bad, and all we have to do is to accept both and balance them out with each other." Sylvia pleaded to the sniffling girl much to my surprise. "Plus, you'll finally get to meet my little sister, Athena."
"Little Thena?" Eliza asked with a sniff. "She's with them?"
"Yeah, and from what I've seen she's really enjoying herself and is completely loved." Sylvia smiled warmly and I felt my heart flutter as she turned that smile onto me, and I knew, I was forgiven. "Well, it's time to go now." Sylvia sighed.
"No! Please don't go! I'm not done yet." Eliza pleaded alarmed standing up along with Sylvia.
"Don't worry, Vaden knows where to find me, so if you ever need me just go to her." Sylvia smiled down at the girl before kissing her head.
"But I need you now, I haven't finished my training yet." She's fighting it with all her might, I'll give her that, but I could tell that Sylvia has already made up her mind.
"Good bye Eliza, until next time." Sylvia said before fading out.
"No! No come back! Please!" Eliza cried trying to hold onto her deceased mentor but her hands only went though her. "Bring her back! Bring her back god damn it!" Eliza shouted at me grabbing hold of my vest trying to shake me but I didn't midge an inch. I hugged her. She fought back crying but I didn't let go of her until she tired and relaxed in my arms crying.
"I'm sorry." I whispered to her sadly.
"I hate you." She spat back but no longer tried to pull away from me, needing the support even if it was from a monster like me.
"I know."
I looked around to find that most of the Hunters have given up, either running away or falling to their knees with hands in the air. My replicas were rounding them up in one section of the clearing while on the other side I found Qoy having fun sitting on Adelle's back a self satisfied smile on his face as Adelle screamed and cursed on the ground under him.
"Can I take a nip?" He asked me flashing elongated fangs in a smile.
"Yes, but don't kill her. I think we should ask her a few questions first when lady Aviva arrives." I told him seriously while telling Anon and Beatrice that it was clear for them to come through. Eliza had passed out in my arms exhausted. I could feel that she hadn't had a proper night's rest in a long time.
I picked her up in my arms, resting her head against my shoulder, before I went to her spear that started to shrink down until it was just the spear head as small as a pendant hanging from a string. I picked it up and put it around Eliza's neck resting it against her chest.
"What happened?" Beatrice asked immediately when she came through the portal with the others. Her eyes took in the girl in my arms making her frown in worry.
"Adelle, the Hunter that attacked the train on our way back from Enrique's castle, somehow knew we were coming through the portal today and staged an ambush. Obviously it failed but I'm glad I came through first." I sighed as I shifted Eliza's weight in my arms slightly. "This is Elizabeth, or Eliza, she's Sylvia's apprentice, well was."
"She knew Sylvy?" Athena asked curiously from where she was holding onto Beatrice's dress, keeping close to her, which I was happy about.
"Yeah, your sister trained her how to fight." I answered her. "So I think you two will get along just fine."
"You're taking her with us?" Beatrice asked not looking too sure that that was a good idea.
I nodded my head. "Sylvia asked me to, I can't say no to that."
Beatrice sighed but gave a soft smile anyway. "I know." She kissed my cheek before turning to where Adelle was shouting her head off. "Who's that?" She asked indicating Qoy who was licking blood from his lips.
I scowled at him because he was still naked. "Qoy, can you please dress yourself?" I huffed in annoyance.
"Of course my lady." He basically purred at me, obviously in a good mood with being in his human form and being allowed to drink blood.
I glared at him for his sarcasm while he stood up with black smoke made of mana wrapped around his body, wrapping him in a black cloak while his hair was suddenly tied up, clearing it away from his face. "Better?" He asked with a smile that showed off his fangs.
I rolled my eyes. "Whatever." I grumbled unimpressed. I then caught Beatrice's confused eyes. "That's Qoy, you know my sword? Yeah well turns out it can turn into a person too."
"I can also change back into that sword whenever I want to." Qoy smiled charmingly, though his black eyes were creepy. "A pleasure to finally meet you my dear lady Beatrice." He walked over to her and bowed low to her while taking her hand and placing a kiss to the back of it. I don't think I like him in this form.
"Nice to meet you too... Qoy?" Beatrice replied awkwardly while pulling her hand away from him and stepping closer to me.
"So, what are we going to do with that?" Mercy asked pointing at Adelle who had her arms and legs somehow engulfed in the earth unable to move.
"Did you do that?" I asked Qoy.
"Yeah." He confirmed while smirking.
Lady Aviva came through the portal and quickly assessed the clearing. She eyed Qoy but dismissed him quickly since neither Beatrice or myself were reacting badly to him. "Is she okay?" Aviva asked nodding at the girl in my arms.
"She'll be fine once she gets a good sleep in a nice bed." I answered.
"Good. Candy, Anon, Mercy, please apprehend that Hunter. Vaden, your replicas can let the other Hunters go, we don't need them." She ordered smoothly just as Galen entered the clearing with horses and human guard.
"Do you mind riding with Beatrice, Athena?" I asked the young girl as everyone started moving to go back to the estate.
"I don't mind." Athena replied and went with Beatrice over to her horse.
"Hey bud." I greeted Ruddy as he came over to me. "Qoy you're gonna have to turn back into the sword or you're gonna have to walk."
"I'd like to walk if you will my lady? It's been too long since I've been in human form and would like to get use to it once more." He asked of me, much to my surprise.
"All right, please don't go killing or hurting anyone." I told him with a frown while sliding up onto Ruddy's back with Eliza still in my arms.
"I promise I won't to anything without your permission. You're my wielder after all and I only listen to you." He bowed to me.
"And don't call me my lady, just Vaden is fine." I huffed at him. "Also, don't take too long getting to the estate. I will see you then."
"Fair travels, lady Vaden." He replied and everyone started off back to the estate.
