Just saying expect the unexpected with this story...

"Vaden!" I heard Beatrice call my name but for some reason I couldn't turn to her. My heart was hurting, my mind was a mess and my body was frozen. What do I do? How is this even possible? Is it possible?

It was suddenly very cold, so cold, but at least I was finally able to move my body again. I looked around and was shocked to see that I was utterly surrounded by snow. Trees naked and frozen, grass hidden under a body height of snow and a crying baby... wait, what?

My ears were not deceiving me, there was a baby crying from somewhere. I quickly looked around and headed towards where it was coming from. I was shocked by what I found. A naked baby, a girl, was laying on the snow bright red from screaming her little lungs out. What amazed me even more were the stunning midnight black and blue wings that came out of her small back, splayed out under her contrasting brilliantly with the stark white snow.

I hurried to the tiny Celestial baby and tried to pick her up. I was given a shock though at the sight of my hands going through her. But it was like she could see me even though I couldn't touch her because she suddenly stopped crying. I couldn't help but gasped audibly at the sight of her brilliant turquoise eyes that looked up at me. My heart beat quickened and the urge to protect this child with my life was nearly suffocating, like I would kill for this child. Like I would hunt her down to the ends of the earth just to make sure she was safe by my side.

I heard the snow crunching under footsteps coming towards us. On instinct I growled and spun around in full protective mode. My growl cut short though at the sight of lady Aviva walking towards us covered in thick furred clothing made of strange material I've never seen before. She didn't look at me but at the child with her gold eyes. Walking right past me she bent down and scooped up the child. Wrapping her strange cloak around the baby she sighed softly like she had been searching for something a really long time and have finally found it.

"I have you, it's okay, I found you." She whispered to the baby shocking and confusing me even more. She then pulled out a strange sleek contraption from a pocket and placed it to her ear and spoke. "I've found her, bring the chopper to my coordinates immediately. Bring warm blankets and baby formula." With that she placed the thing back into her pocket and started heading out of the bare forest.

I was shocked frozen. "You have to find her." A familiar voice spoke almost echo-like from beside me. I turned to find that girl who looked like a younger version of Beatrice. "You have to find me." She rephrased and then pointed to where lady Aviva and the baby disappeared.

"I-I don't understand what's happening." I stuttered my head starting to ache with all the confusion I was feeling. "Where am I? Who are you? Please, I don't understand what's going on."

"Love your Mate and find her when she's lost. That's all you can do right now. Just love us, love me and you'll find me." The girl smiled before everything disappeared.

I was suddenly yanked back out of that confusing snow white world and I was able to breathe properly again. I gasped and coughed on the ground of the strange clearing. Beatrice was kneeling over me looking worried and scared. She was saying something but I couldn't hear her words. Everything was fuzzy and not in order. What was happening to me?

"Vaden?" In sudden clarity everything snapped back into order making Beatrice's shouting feel like knives being shoved into my head.

I groaned in pain, screwing up my face and holding my hands over my ears. "Please don't shout, I can hear you now." I pleaded to her, my head aching tremendously.

"Oh thank god." Beatrice breathed a hand over her heart while her other held onto my wrist.

I opened my eyes and looked up at the ceiling. Frist an image of me being Mated to not only one but two figures. Then a vision of me killing every living thing in this realm, and now finally seeing a baby Celestial that lady Aviva was for some reason looking for before a child that looks like my Mate appeared telling me to find her, them, they, I don't even know, and to just love Beatrice like normal. I sighed as my head throbbed. There's too much going on and I don't even know what's happening anymore.

"What happened?" I asked softly feeling like if I spoke louder my head would explode.

"I don't know. You looked at the changing image in the hole and suddenly you leaned in until your whole face went in. I tried pulling you out but you wouldn't budge until now. It only lasted a few seconds but don't ever scare me like that again!" Beatrice growled at me looking angry but I felt how relieved she was through the bond.

I looked up at her searching her face, looking her over. But I could only see resemblance to that girl that kept begging me to find her, them. I sighed again and relaxed against the ground. Whatever happened to my simple life as a street rat?

"Are you okay Vaden? What did you see?" Beatrice asked soft and I closed my eyes at the feel of her hand cupping my cheek while brushing her thumb over it comfortingly.

"I don't know... I really don't know." I sighed again feeling really tired and drained. "It was a strange vision, maybe a prophesy, I don't know..."

"What was it about?"

"Death... so much death." I opened my eyes and looked deep into her silver ones. "I was the cause of it." I finished off in a soft breath.

Her eyes widened and her hand stilled. "No... that can't be true. That's not possible. Whose deaths? The orcs or...?" She left the question hanging.

"Everyone." I answered sadly the image of myself sitting on the tree throne bathed in blood flashed through my mind. It was horrifying. "Absolutely everyone."

"I'm sure it was just... Just something to scare us, nothing will happen. You will be fine, nothing like that could possibly happen. You're too good, too kind to do something like that." Beatrice tried to convince me but I remember my eyes in that vision. It was the beast but also something more, something dangerous and destructive was also there.

"I'm not sure about that zhilat." I whispered out to her before sighing. "We should go, I don't want to be here anymore."

"Okay... Okay." She agreed and helped me to stand. I leant on her as we walked back down the path my mind stuck on not only what I might become in the future but that Celestial baby and her gorgeous turquoise eyes. I wish I could have at least held her for a few seconds. I don't even know why I wanted to, it was just a need inside me.

We left the path and I could no longer feel or see it behind us. I stood up straight and stretched my back then cracked my neck with a sigh. What could possibly push me over the edge so far that I'd even kill Beatrice? Where did the light inside me go for such darkness to control me? I sighed again, I don't have time to worry about possibilities. I just have to make sure it doesn't happen.

I heard an excited scream before I was jumped on from behind. "You guys did it!" Ashwini screamed in my ear making me cringe and my head throb even more.

"No wonder we didn't see you two at breakfast or lunch." Georgia grinned at us while Ashwini held onto my back annoyingly. "Been in your room all day have you?"

"Think what you like. When will we be leaving?" I asked ignoring their teasing.

Ashwini pouted as she slid off my back before joining Georgia in standing in front of us. "You're leaving in an hour. Orrick is getting your rides ready along with a few other necessities."

"Alright. So what have you two been doing today?" Beatrice asked as we started walking up the stairs heading to the throne room. I didn't really want to be there, but I also don't want the other two to know about what I saw at the tree.

"I walked around the different levels of this place. Holy hell this place is not only massive but so stunning if Georgia hadn't of found me I would still be lost, walking around in awe around one of the levels." Ashwini laughed her voice squeaky with excitement.

"I was also walking around the levels seeing how things have changed with my father when we found Ashwini hanging upside down having been caught by a qosarvenikh elainat (trap plant)." Georgia laughed to herself while grinning evilly at an offended Ashwini.

"Hey! You weren't meant to tell them that part!" She exclaimed while pouting at the shorter fairy.

It made me smile and feel a little lighter when they started bickering. "Too bad Georgia's my sisters Mate, they look cute together." Beatrice whispered in my ear her hand grabbing mine and entwining our fingers.

I laughed out loud at her comment while the other two stood frozen looking horrified at us then each other having heard her.

"No way!" They both shouted at us.

"Like hell I'd get with that potion-head!" Georgia shouted pointing at Ashwini accusingly while jumping away from her.

"You've got to be insane to think I could ever like a needy princess like her!" Ashwini exclaimed at the same time while pointed right back at Georgia.

They then turned and glared at each other like they could kill with their stares. I chuckled at them amused. Since when did these two become such good friends?

"Don't ever repeat that near lady Aviva, I swear, I want to live as long as possible thank you." Ashwini whined at Beatrice and I.

"Oh sorry, I forgot that you have a crush on Anon." Beatrice said snapping her fingers like she just remembered something.

Ashwini's eyes widened considerably while her dark skin started to turn a bright red. "Don't even joke about me liking that damn Mutt!" She shouted before walking off in a huff.

"Really? Her and Anon?" I asked Beatrice curiously.

She smiled at me with a slight shrug. "I've seen them glaring at each other when the others not looking, but it didn't seem to be anything hateful."

"Oh, should I warn her that Anon like's both males and females in bed, most of the time during the same time?" I asked her curiously.

"Does he really do that?" Beatrice asked in surprise.

"I accidentally walked in on him and two others while we were away. I don't think I'll ever be able to clean my mind of the image." I screwed up my face as I remembered.

"My poor zhilat. I don't mind replacing those images." Beatrice whispered into my ear using our entwined hand to pull herself closer to my side. I couldn't help but smile as I looked at her.

"I'm okay with that." I grinned at her while tilting my head forward till our noses bumped. "You've already started to but I'd like to make more just to make sure they're completely gone."

"I'm looking forward to it." Beatrice giggled her silver eyes sparkling. Yeah, I don't know what those images meant and what that vision was, but I know for sure that Beatrice is my one and only and I'll die before I harm her in any way, shape or form.

I kissed her cheek. "I love you." I whispered against her skin and felt her squeeze my hand tightly.

"I think I'm going to puke." Ashwini's bland voice drawled from the doorway to the throne room.

I pulled away from a blushing Beatrice to smirk at the pretty dark skinned woman leaning against the door closest to the female guard who was watching us with interest. "Just because you're jealous." I teased her back, leading Beatrice towards her feeling at ease once again even after the scare I had before.

Ashwini scoffed but gave us a soft smile right after. "Kinda." She admitted.

"Don't worry, you'll find your Mate too." I assured her as we passed. "Whether that be Anon or someone else."

Ashwini scowled once again. "I don't like that Mutt!" She stated bluntly while crossing her arms over her chest.

I shrugged though I was smirking. "Then so be it."

"Preparations have finished earlier than expected." Georgia spoke up cutting Ashwini off from whatever she was about to say. She stood beside her father, Orrick and another fairy, female with long red hair and dark brown eyes, who smelt like horse. "We can leave whenever you're ready."

"We should leave as soon as possible then." Beatrice stated going back to her serious lady of an estate side, but she kept hold of my hand, which made me happy and at ease.

"I agree. I'm ready to go now if you all are." Georgia agreed with a nod, just as serious.

"We didn't really bring anything that we couldn't hold on our person, so I'm good to go." I said my spare hand sliding over my sheathed rhoa az on my thigh.

"Then we should head to the stables now and get going." Georgia suggested casting a glance at the fairy I didn't know.

She bowed her head to Georgia before motioning to the glass doors that lead out to a balcony I hadn't noticed the first time I was inside this room. We all followed her and I suddenly realised that she didn't have wings yet she was obviously a fairy because she glowed.

"Is it possible for fairies to hide their wings?" I asked Beatrice curiously as we walked.

"No, my lady. I was born without wings, a defect during birth." The fairy answered me instead having obviously heard me.

"Oh, I'm sorry if I was insensitive with my question." I apologised to her. "Ah, and please don't call me 'my lady', it makes me uncomfortable. Vaden's just fine."

The fairy looked over her shoulder at me with a soft smile, though she had surprise in her eyes. "You did not insult me... Vaden." The fairy assured me softly, my name coming out of her mouth like she was testing it.

I smiled at her happily. "I'm glad, though I'm still sorry."

"It's okay, I might not have my own wings but I make it up with my mares." She replied and I could feel that though she's slightly saddened by the fact she was born without wings; she was truly proud of what she has accomplished. I couldn't help wonder at the same time, what did she means she made up the ability to not be able to fly with her mares?

I had my answer when we walked out of the balcony, followed a path along the outside of the giant tree and found ourselves in a large alcove that had a few fairies cleaning, feeding and just taking care of what looked like over a hundred horses. But they weren't just any horses. These albino, snow white beauties had wings attached to their sides.

I couldn't help but stare in wonderment at the sight of a horse actually flying down to land easily into the alcove with a rider on its back. "What are they?" I asked in awe staring at the stunning creatures.

"They're what's called a Pegasus." Beatrice answered me with a soft smile, eyes dazzling at the amazing animals in front of us.

"Woah!" Ashwini breathed from behind me. "I've heard of them, but I didn't think I'd ever get the chance to actually see one, let alone so many at the same time!"

"Come this way. Your mares are waiting for you." The fairy smiled, pride lighting up her face in a grand smile.

We were lead over to a small section near the edge of the alcove to find a group of Pegasus, which were all saddled up and even painted much like the horses we rode into the capital were.

"Everything you'll need are in the packs on their saddles. Once you land and take the packs off, they'll come back here on their own so you won't need to worry about them." The fairy explained while walking to the closest mare and patting it's painted nose.

I inched towards one in awe. The mana inside these creatures was magnificent. So pure, that I wouldn't be surprised if liquid mana ran through their bodies. I connected to one of the mares as our eyes met. I showed her my emotions of wonderment and awe, which made her nicker happily while sending me back feelings of happiness and pleasure. I held out a hand and she came towards me, greeting my hand with a nudge of her nose and a flurry of her wings.

"They're beautiful creatures aren't they?" Beatrice asked from beside me.

"Almost as beautiful a creature as you." I told her while grinning at her. I was happy to see Beatrice blush while pushing me away bashfully after letting go of my hand. I warmed at the feeling of her love and I didn't need to force myself to return it wholeheartedly down the bond.

"If you two have stopped flirting around, we should get going." Georgia teased having already slid atop her mount, her father standing beside her with a soft nervous smile.

I apologised with a smile before kissing Beatrice on the cheek and made sure she got up onto her own mare safely. I easily swung up and into the saddle on the Pegasus I connected with before waiting to get going, excitement a buzz through my body.

"Please be safe my butterfly." The king pleaded to his daughter, fear and worry and every other emotion a father can feel knowing their last family member was going somewhere dangerous was obvious in his expression as he looked up at her.

"Of course father. I will, we all will, come back in one piece." Georgia assured her father confidently.

"Yeah, don't go dying on me now since I won't be there to protect you guys." Ashwini grinned, though I could also feel her worry.

"And don't have too much fun without us while you're here." I replied to her with a wink.

"Remember your promise Vaden." The king reminded me.

I nodded to him seriously. "Of course my king."

"Then let's go." Georgia decided quickly, wanting to get to the front line quickly and to leave before her father could change his mind.

With her order my heart leapt into my throat as the beast under me jumped from the alcoves ledge.

Woah! I think I'm going to faint.
