|save miss stacy!|
┕━━━━ ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ━━━━┙
has to be something we can do to save miss stacy," anne told to millie, ruby, and diana, "if this was a story, what would the hero do?" she questioned.
it was a day after the moody incident. millie didn't know about that and did not attend school that day and just got the news from anne.
"but we're not heroes, anne, we're just girls," ruby clarified.
"don't be ridiculous, " diana told to ruby.
"i'm not ridiculous, " ruby answered.
"ruby, a hero is a person, and that person can be any gender," millie told to ruby.
"the hero accepts the call to adventure. so we have to convince the town to accept miss stacy and let her stay," anne declared.
the sound of door opening causing the girl's conversation to be interrupted. "not now, moody," diana said as she looked up at moody.
"the town hall meeting is tomorrow night," ruby informed them.
"next to trying and winning, the best thing Is trying and failing. either way, i say we try," anne muttered.
"i completely agree. even if we failed, miss stacy would appreciate that at least we tried our best to convince the town and the progressive mothers to let her stay," millie spoke up.
"whatever you're planning, i want to help," moody piped in, causing the girls to look at him, "everything went wrong after i dropped the light bulb."
millie smiled as he reached out moody and pats his back, "i'm so proud of you, buddy," moody smiled back at her.
anne seemes to think for a moment as she spoke up, "i've got it. i know what we're going to do! huddle up."
the girls let out a laugh as moody and millie sat down.
"here's what has to happen tomorrow..."

"alright. everybody ready?" millie asked as they all got into the back of the cart.
"yes?" moody answered.
diana sat down and turned her gaze into her friends as she chuckled, "i can't tell if i'm scared or excited."
"we're going to get in so much trouble," ruby piped in.
"what's our battle cry?" anne questioned them.
"no idea," ruby answered.
"what?" moody asked, clearly confused.
"what about... save miss stacy?" millie suggested.
anne held her hand out, "save miss stacy, it is!"
millie supportedly put her hand on the top of anne's hand as the others follow along.
"save miss stacy!" they shouted loudly. after that, they all pulled away, laughing and got seated again.
their first journey was onto cole's house to pick him up. and then, to train station to charlottetown.

when they arrived at cole's fields. they saw him working in the fields as they all waves at him. as soon as cole get to them, millie quickly got down off the cart and engulf cole into a bone-crashing hug.
"i missed you, cole. let's go," millie said as she offered her hand to cole.
"w-what?" cole asked, confused.
"charlottetown!" millie exclaimed.
"now?"
"yes."
"why?" cole, once again, asked.
"we'll tell you on the way," millie explained, "besides, you're coming with us. i'm certain that you need to see aunt josephine."
"you're driving there?"
"we're taking the train," diana answered.
"i... don't have any money."
"neither do we," ruby said.
"then how..."
"it's a caper. it'll be fine," anne reassured him.
"i'm already in enough trouble," cole said.
"so how much worse could it get?" anne questioned as cole sighed and accepts millie's hand.
«────── « ⋅ʚ♡ɞ⋅ » ──────»
"we're hoping a freight car?!" cole questioned in disbelief.
"i-i can't breathe," diana muttered.
"we're all going to die," ruby said.
"pff. i do it once," millie simply stated, making them all looked at her with wide eyes.
"what?!"
"you've done it before?!"
"you are insane!"
"goodness!"
"you're amazing, millie!"
millie smiled at their different comments. "it's not that hard. i'll go first, it will be fine."
"hey, we shouldn't----" millie ignored what ruby was going to say as the older cuthbert sister stood up.
she ran rapidly toward the train and climbed in. once she was inside, she examines if the coast was clear.
millie observed that the conductor was not paying attention to them, she gestured her hands, motioning to her friends to come. when they come in without the conductor noticing them, they sighed in relief.
"we did it!"
little did they know, the blythe brothers watched them from the window of the train. they watched them in confusion as they both shared an odd look.

the train finally stops, addressing that they're already in charlottetown. millie wait up for a few minutes as she pushed the door opened. shocked as she saw the blythe brothers on the other side, smugly smirking at them.
"what are you both doing here?" millie questioned, nervousness falls upon her seeing the older blythe again.
"i figure i should ask you the same question."
«────── « ⋅ʚ♡ɞ⋅ » ──────»
they all walked as gilbert and anne are in front of the others while millie and ben are behind them all. they just awkwardly walked in silence.
"so... um, i hope you find bash. he's really a good man," millie finally decides to break the awkward silence between the both of them.

"i hope he'll forgive us for being so insensitive. we didn't even consult him and just comes up with our plan leaving for college early," ben said, making millie stopped in her tracks.
the older blythe looked at her with confusion, "is there something wrong?" he asked.
millie quickly shook her head as she clears her throat, "so... are you going to college early? w-when?"
"um, maybe next month. and as for gil, he's leaving next year, i think, but i know that he's not so sure now."
"you? are you certain for leaving so early?"
"me? yes," ben simply said as millie feels her throat dry.
"well, in that case, g-good luck. see you on the afternoon train," millie said as she catches up on her sister.
"what?! no, he doesn't," millie heard anne exclaimed.
"what is it?" millie asked as she reached to both cole and anne.
"hm. cuthbert sisters being oblivious. see you on the afternoon train," cole said and with that, he walked off, leaving anne and millie confused.
"say hello aunt jo for me!" millie exclaimed.
"it's not true!" anne yelled, causing go diana reached to them.
"what's not true?" diana asked as anne shook her head, "nothing. cole was just being ridiculous. let's go."
"yeah, he was," millie muttered under her breathe.
«────── « ⋅ʚ♡ɞ⋅ » ──────»
"my, my, my, this is a dreadful turn of events. what are going to do?" aunt josephine questioned as she walked around the room?
on their way to charlottetown, moody tripped and fell forward. he is clearly alright, but the box he was carrying isn't. the light bulbs that was inside of the box was all shattered.
"i might be out of ideas," anne admitted.
"but you're never out of ideas!" ruby cried out as rollings, the butler gave ruby a tissue.
"it's all my fault, again," moody said as he looked down sadly.
"it was an accident," diana said, trying to make the boy feel better.
"my whole life was an accident," moody blurted out.
millie seems to think as she gaze on the light switch next to her. she flipped it on as the chandelier above them lit up.
aunt josephine seems to understand what millie was thinking as she requested a ladder to her butler.
"rollings, do we have any ladders?" the butler nodded and left the room and then, came back with a ladder.
he climbed up the ladder and twisted off all the light bulbs as the others twist the light bulbs in lamps and then put it in the box.
"millie, you're a genius!"
«────── « ⋅ʚ♡ɞ⋅ » ──────»
"cole, hurry, you'll miss the train!" millie shouted as she noticed that her friend was just staring at the ground.
cole didn't bother to move, millie walked over to see what is wrong with her friend, "i'm not going back."
millie narrowed her eyes in confusion, "what?"
"aunt jo said i could live with her."
"but your family, us---"
"i know," cole quickly cut her off, "but i can be free here─ myself. i need to know who i am."
millie nodded in understanding, "i understand, cole."
"all aboard!" the conductor's voice seems to bewilder millie.
millie engulf cole in a one last hug, "i'll miss you. very much."
"i'll miss you too. now go save miss stacy!"
«────── « ⋅ʚ♡ɞ⋅ » ──────»
the children, including gilbert and ben, was now lined up, each of them holding a potato with a light bulb, as they all walked forward.
all the adults were in shocked as the teenagers smiled at themselves, their plan was working.
once they all reached the table where the councils sat, they faced the crowed, who was in shocked.
"what you've witnessed is the effect of miss stacy's methods in action. she taught us about electricity, but she also showed us the spirit of enthusiasm and curiosity that we needed to make this happen. miss stacy is an inspiration. we learned more from her in a week than we learned from mister phillips in a year," anne stated.
"miss stacy was an independent woman who was judge quickly. i want to be like her when i grow up. different isn't bad, it is just not the same," millie said as the crowd goes silent.
suddenly, matthew stood up and speak, "there's always another way to look at things," he said as he sat back down and millie gave him a soft smile, which he returned.
"we returned to avonlea because we needed why has always been here, why would we stay where we can't grow? miss stacy supports my brother and i's ambition to become a doctors. i believe she is our chance to help us realize our dreams and become more than what we are now," ben added, making millie looked at him.
"as someone who lived without a change for a bulk of my life, and the great change thrust upon me─ i can attest that it is the only way to grow and learn," marilla piped in, making the both cuthbert sisters looked at her in awe.
missus lynde stoop up, "let's put this to a vote. all in favor of keeping miss stacy?"
all the children raised their potatoes as the adults put their hands up. the children beamed with joy, she did it.
ben and millie stared at each other for a second, admiring the view of one's another as they shared lovingly smile.
