can i used the curry that

sebastian gave you for the dinner i'm planning to cook tonight?" millie asked to marilla.

marilla and missus lynde are preparing to go to charlottetown to visit an oculist.

"yes, i want green gables standing when i come back tomorrow," marilla said.

"of course, marilla. i will take a good care of green gables," millie reassured her.

"well, in that case, let's be away! charlottetown awaits!" missus lynde said.

"don't be late for school."

"we won't."

"don't get up to any mischief!"

the cuthbert sisters just smiled at marilla.

"goodbye, marilla and missus lynde! safe travels!"

"diana, you're such a dear," prissy told to diana as they gathered around, examining the silver sixpence, "thank you. now i have everything i'll need for the perfect wedding."

"prissy, do you have a bridal veil?" anne asked.

"i'm going to be wearing my mother's," prissy answered, "it's a tradition in our family."

"you should keep this sixpence and hand it down to your daughters," millie muttered as she handed the silver sixpence to josie pye.

"what are we buying?" josie asked.

"diana got a genuine sixpence for prissy, all the way from london," ruby said.

"i wrote to my cousin two months ago, as soon as i heard about the engagement. i'm just glad it got here in time," diana explained.

"something old, something new..." tillie said.

"something borrowed, something blue..." jane said.

"and a silver sixpence in her shoe," anne said as they erupt in laughter.

"sounds painful," josie nastily remarks.

"sounds like a magic spell for happiness," anne said as the girls burst out in laughter.

millie looked around the room and saw billy andrews pushed cole.

"you need to be more careful, bud," billy mocked.

millie immediately reached cole and helped him to stand up.

"is it healing alright?" ben asked to cole.

"it's getting there, thanks," cole answered as he walked to the supply room.

ben's gaze turned on millie, "hi," he greeted at her.

"hi," millie quickly said as she focused her attention on the girls.

"what was that?" tillie teased as the girls giggled except josie and millie.

"i think ben fancy millie," ruby said.

josie pye snorted, "girls, it's ridiculous and impossible. ben doesn't fancy orphans like her," josie rudely remark as she pointed at millie.

"josie pye, you take that back!" anne said.

millie looked down in her shoes, maybe josie's right. nobody wants to be with an orphan, like her. and ben's actions to her was out of pity. because she's an orphan. all he said, all he does, was out of pity to her.

millie smiled forcefully, "it's alright, anne. yeah. it's impossible. he doesn't fancy me." she said as she sat down on her seat.

she doesn't even know why josie pye's rudely remarks affected her.

millie was quickly writing on her slate because mister phillips said that the last one that will be finished will stay after school.

"sebastian!" ben called out, making them all turned their head at the door.

"good morning. pardon me. i need to have a word with gilbert and benjamin, please," bash said.

"i'd thank you to stay in the cloakroom," mister phillips said in disgust as ben and gilbert reached to bash.

"sebastian, what are you doing here? you look terrible," millie heard ben said.

"you're not welcome here. he tried to kill me at the christmas pantomime," billy rudely said.

"if there's any threat in this classroom, it's you, billy andrews. besides, i think you deserved it," millie interjected.

"return to your lesson!" mister phillips yelled, causing students to returned their attentions to their own slates.

"the trousseau of an unmarried woman..." anne began as they all ate their lunch, "is it an exquisitely preserved memento of her youth or a tragical reminder of a life she'll never know?"

it was lunch time and the blythe brothers had just dismissed themselves for unknown reasons to millie. she didn't care, although, deep in her mind, and heart she was concerned why bash comes on their school.

josie pye's words still bothered her. she couldn't take those words out of her mind.

"tell us when you're an old maid," josie rudely remarked, "do you orphans even have trousseaus?"

"millie and anne has parents now, josie," diana prompted the blunt girl, josie only shrugged before turning back to her lunch. millie gave diana a silent thank you for defending her and anne.

"not by blood, " josie also reminded. millie stood up, clearly impatient of the rude and mean girl.

"josie pye, you rude and mean! grow up, now! at least, anne and i, they chose us happily. and you? your parents didn't chose you, and i pity them for suffering from that conceited and nasty attitude of yours!" millie snapped as she immediately packed her things and walked out of the classroom, didn't care about the class anymore. she ignored the others calling her as she continuedly to walk to middle of the woods, to their clubhouse.

when millie arrived there, she didn't exactly know what to do. she decided to read anne's stories. she smiled, she was proud of her sister. when she goes through anne's third story, cole comes inside of the clubhouse.

"cole?!" millie called to him.

cole looked at her in wide eyes before turning into his earlier look, a sad one.

"oh, you're here," cole only muttered, "anne said that you snapped at josie pye earlier and walked out of the classroom."

"yeah, i did that, that mean girl. what happened to you?" millie asked as she sat down next to cole.

"why does everyone hates me?" cole sadly muttered.

millie leans her head into cole's shoulder as she spoke, "no not everyone, cole. like me, i don't hate you. either did anne, diana, ruby, and the others. but billy andrews or mister phillips i cannot deny that they hate you."

cole sadly sigh, "mister phillips. he wanted to hurt me today... because he couldn't punish himself... for being like me."

"like you? what do you mean? that ill-mannered teacher has nothing like you!" millie exclaimed.

"i'm... the same... as josephine barry. i'm different, millie, i'm---" before cole finished his sentence, millie engulf him with a hug.

"i'm so proud of you, cole. and i am very glad that you share that with me. love who you love, it doesn't matter who it is or what sex it is. and i am here, supporting you, cole. i love you, cole. and i will support you until i live."

cole smiled as he hugged the girl back. he muttered a thank you under his breathe. and he knew, he knew that he's lucky to have a loyal friend like mildred turner-cuthbert.
