"nah. don't eat that," bash said.
"bash, i'm starving, and that looks really good," gilbert complained as the woman who was cooking stared at them and smile. ben smiled back to the woman.

"how about i go back so i have something to compare it to?" gilbert said.
"patience, boy. don't cry. hold this for now," bash said as he handed a fruit to ben and gilbert. "it's a mango. prepare for an experience."
ben and gilbert hold the fruit as they took a bite to it. "hmm... mmm! mmm!"

"yes. it nice, eh? don't swallow the skin. spit it out," bash informed as he saw the two boys took a bite of a mango without peeling the skin of it.

"prince edward island..." ben said, "canada," gilbert added.
"they don't feed you two on that boat, ben, and gilbert blythe?" missus lacroix said as she examined the two boys.
"sebastian has promised us the best in trinidadian bush medicine?" gilbert said as ben nodded in agreement.
"i see," missus lacroix said and patted bash's shoulder as she walks inside the house.
"sebastian is so much more elegant than bash," ben joked at his friend.

"okay, you have your food."
"uh... we could come back tomorrow," bash said.
missus lacroix shook her head. "nah, that is enough charity. if you come here again, you're looking for trouble," she sternly said to bash. "come, doux-doux," she said as she walked inside the house.

"you know, if this is medicine... i wish i was sick every single day," gilbert said and let out a small chuckle as they both devour the food.
"glad to see you two enjoying the fruits of slave labor," bash sadly said.
"i thought slavery ended here over fifty years ago," gilbert said.
"my family never left that plantation," bash said as he looked at the two brothers, "not granny... not mom. she raised them children. i hardly know her." bash explained as both boys stop eating and seem to think something.
"i-i'm sorry, bash," ben said.

Kill 10 Rats
You awake in the middle of an unfamiliar woods with nothing but a knife and a pair of pants. You have no idea where you are, how you got there, or even what your name is. Noob Slayer is an average college student, part time computer repair guy, and a full time gamer. He awakes to find himself in a world he does not understand. Follow him as he explores this new world, looks for answers, and tries to remember his name. Authors Note: This is a side-project I started after being widely stumped trying to write another book. It is my first attempt to actually post something I've written online, but don't be afraid to be brutal. Improving myself is why I wanted to write this in the first place. I know the VRMMO genera is a bit over-done but hopefully it has a few good stories left to tell. Warning: This is written in the first person. Will contain brutal fight-scenes, bad pop-culture references, a ton of MMO-tropes, and possibly some light sex if the MC doesn't screw it up too badly. Raine just wanted some money. All he needed was enough to get his business rolling. But when he agreed to take a much-needed job from his college friend Levin, he hadn’t expected to get stabbed, shot, and chased at midnight in L.A. with a drunk girl in the back seat of his car. And he hadn’t planned on joining a strange organization based in another world, thanks to which he flies off to a private island to suffer weeks of grueling training and endure intensive foreign language study the likes of which he hasn’t experienced since high school. His friends sold the other world to him as a land of hope and second chances, a simple but beautiful place where he could put his many failings behind him and get a new start. Ignorant, trusting, and naive, he believed them. But they lied. Please note that the story has a slow start (practically all of my readers say this).
