《Agni Pariksha (Complete)》Chapter 19

The days were fabulous and every minute i was carving for her. You heard me. I was truly madly deeply in love with my wife. Sounds pathetic but i am no poet to write what i actually feel for her. She was a fire a phoenix who is born from the own ashes and i was happy to turn into ashes in her fire. Ever since i realised what i felt i was longing to confess to her, but there comes a big but. What if she says she never thought of me like that, Will i be able to handle that ?? Ofcourse not.
She hated drinking, so i stopped. She hated smoking i stopped that either. I couldn't think of any girl other than my sathya. My trance was broken when i found her with the heavy shopping bags and crashing on the sofa with her bags still in the hand.
"I'm gonna murder Prakash for god sake..." she breathed dramatically making me chuckle. She hates shopping which was a shocking news to me. I knew girls love to go for shopping but she was one of her kind. Tomorrow is the engagement of Prakash and Jubi or should say hockey queen. I kept the name coz she would thrash Prakash whenever he tries to flirt with any woman other than her. Still she knew he was kidding and he knew it is always her for him.
I pulled her leg and gave her toes a small massage. She moaned in satisfaction and i chuckled. Then i threw my head up and laughed when she kept her other leg on my thigh demanding me to massage them.
She dossed off in the sofa and i slowly took the bags from her hold and placed them on the tea table and with no sound i pulled her to my chest and picked her up in a bridal style. She snuggled in me and slept in peace. Placing her on the bed i kissed her forehead lightly but made sure i am not disturbing her at all.
Morning was blissful when i found my love snuggling and sleeping. Without disturbing her i woke up and went out for a morning jog. It became my routine. Waking up before she would wake up so that she might think we were sleeping separately. Then go for a jog then have some tea with Sekar uncle and then walk back home when it was time for me to start for the day.
After the jog Sekar uncle was sitting in the lawn and sipping his tea. He has recovered tremendously. Smiling at me he greeted me. "Good morning uncle." i said sipping the tea which was really good more better than what ever Sathya does. Damn she is a pathetic cook. If i say that in front of her i am so dead.
"So how is the preparation for the engagement is going ??" he asked me folding the news paper. "All done uncle. Everything is perfect." He smiled and held my hand in his wrinkled hands.
"You know i thought you would never be good to my princess but you proved me wrong. I just want you to take care of her. She may pretend strong, tough but she is really a wrecked , vulnerable and broken. She can't stand for another heart break. I know one thing for sure, you would take care of her like i did. All i ask for just promise me never ever leave her side ever again. Never make her alone again. She had faced enough. From the sky high to the rock bottom. Will you promise me that ??" I squeezed his hand and nodded my head. But something inside felt it is as if a good bye from him.

"Uncle don't you want to play with your grand kids ?? Why are you speaking as if it is a good bye from you ??"
He smiled and said " Life is temporary Shiva, No one would know what the next minute has got for us, and i felt i wanted to say that to you. You have promised me young man, always keep that up and protect my princess."
I nodded and said "she would be the queen uncle i promise. " he smiled and his eyes glittered with unshed tears. Walking in i found Sathya with Vivek which is now making me roll my eyes. He was really close to her these days and she would always laugh at him like as if they were long lost buddies. Something pricked my heart. A pinch of jealous. I was terribly jealous when she is all happy around Prakash and Vivek but when it's me she still asks me to find a girl for myself to settle down. That was really irritating me. I wrapped my hands around her waist and made her sit on the table.
"Good morning Mr.Husband, now it would be better if you go freshen up and come to have your breakfast and exactly at 3 we are starting and i want to make sure i am always with Prakash and Jubi got that ??" she asked me. I nodded my head and gave a small eskimo kiss making her hit my chest. Chuckling at that i walked to the room and freshened myself.
The day went totally eventful. She was extremely happy and that warmed my heart. She slept in a note that she needs to be good looking. When i went to wake her up i remembered something of my first love Sakthi. Ever since Vivek would speak about his sister all i wanted was to be with her atleast get a glimpse of her. He would every second say how he loves her and how she was his first daughter.
Walking to my closet i took a box which had something precious for her. Something which i wanted to give her as a gift when i see her but i lost the hope or to say the interest to see her as i have my Sathya all for myself to love and live. Smiling at that i walked back and placed them on the dress which she was prepared to wear for the function. It was a small butterfly necklace and i bet Sathya would love this.
"Wakey wakey sun shine..." I cooed her and she blew a punch on my face. This lady has got skills. Shaking her hard i made her wake up and after making sure she is ready i asked her to wear the set which i bought for Sakthi. It looked perfect around her neck. She looked literally stunning and i was lost in words.
"Wow....." i breathed making her giggle. "Thanks for the compliment Mr.Husband you don't look that bad though..." she teased me. We saw each other and busted and laughed. "So we have to be like a lovey dovey couples to make others burn what say ??" i asked her and she gave me a thumps up. "When it comes to make others burn i have my PhD. Come on..." she said and rushed outside but she did not forget to wear her wedding chain and small kumkum on her parted head. I internally rejoiced.

The avenue started to pour with wishes for them and for us. This was our official first function as a couple. That made me swell in happiness. Looking at Sathya i found her laughing with jubi and prakash. Sathya was really looking cute when shr smiled at them.
Prakash was holding her hand and suddenly everything darkened. Then there was an announcement and i turned to see it was Prakash holding Sathya's hand.
Ladies and gentlemen. Today is really a special day for me. I am gonna get married to a stupido girl i love till my heart beats and there is also one girl who will always be my guardian angel. My sathya.. now as an honour to my sweeto let the music begin...
I blinked when i found the focus light was on them. She smiled at him but it had a sense of pride. Damn she looked breath taking. Slowly the music started and they both danced to the tune. Damn my heart was beating this hard. Then when the music turned high the way she danced made me forget something called as breathing. Vivek smirked at them. Hehh ? Then he stepped in and synced with the tune and it was two of them with her. She was equally dancing with both and the song was too damn perfect for them. (song in the gallery top) the songs changed but their dance was not even close to finishing.
"Look at them, the girl and the boy blend perfect." came a word which made me burn in fury. But i kept myself at ease as i never wanted to make a scene. I know my sathya, she is a phoenix, but Vivek... i didn't know why but i couldn't trust him. Finally they all came to the place where i was standing and watching. They screamed in happiness. "It feels great to dance again." she muttered. "
Vivek smiled and said "Yes but you started a bit sassy but then you were perfect." Prakash smiled and held her by shoulder and said " training is me. She is doing it with me for past seven years man..."
He sounded drunk. Vivek saw her but then said " yeah but no one can beat her with me, you know..." he said and pinched her cheeks and she smiled at him and saw me.
"It's been so long since i danced last time for Raghu's wedding...." then something stroke her and her eyes darkened. Miseries in the name of memories were hitting her. Vivek was about to step to her but i held her by her wrist and she held me by my shoulder. She held me tight and gulped not to cry. She walked away without uttering any words further. Before we could speak to her she stopped her track and without turning she stood there and said " i'm going back home and going to see my papa, Shiva i will go by myself so don't worry." I nodded my head and said " Not a problem i will ask the driver to drive you home then the car will come to pick me or i think Vivek will be there to take me back."
She just nodded. Her smile was now dead. She walked out and i held Vivek's collar and dragged him back to the lawn. He tried to release me from his shirt. Finally when we were just the only one who were people present i released him and when he was about to ask why i held his both the side of his collar and saw him with just wrath. "What are you thinking of yourself ?? coming and dancing with my wife ??" he busted into laugh. I lost and punched him in his face then he saw me with anger. He was now pissed.
"Your wife ?? Really ?? And you asking me to back off after what i went through ?? No way. Shiva you always misunderstand without even thinking of what is going and who is related to what ?? Do you know what she means to me ?? You would never understand what is she to me. She is my life Shiva."
"Stay away from her always..." i punched him again. But he laughed hard holding his stomach. "I thought you would recognise your first love even when you are far from her. And when she is in front of you you were loathing her. Now if you guys are in good terms that doesn't mean that you are a good person. I made a mistake of asking her to marry you." He went way too far.
"Stay away from her always..."
"Why should i stay away from my sister who gave me a chance after seven years of sufferings...." he yelled at me with his eyes tearing.
My world froze and his words were slowly registering in my heart. "Why should i stay away from my sister who gave me a chance after seven years of sufferings".
Sister...
His sister...
Shakthi...
My Sathya is his Shakthi...
Shakthi is Sathya ??
I saw him and his eyes widened of what he said. I walked to him. He knew how much i loved her back then. How much i wished to meet her. How much i wished to make her fall for me and he all the long was acting as if nothing happened when his sister was in pain and when i was looking for her and she was all the time infront of her he did not even utter the word. He was about to walk away but i held him and made him look at me.
"All the time you were playing with us ?? Why didn't you say that she was your sister, my Shakthi ??"
He shoved me and walked away not answering me.
Why ?? Again he left me and walked away.
"Answer me damn it... " I yelled him and it was that time i came to know my eyes were tearing up.
"She threatened me that if i ever claim her as my sister she would make me see her die." I gasped and i saw him breaking down in tears.
There is something which i need to know and something which is been hidden from me for long. But one thing is confirmed, my love for Shakthi has never faded.
I will make her love me and cherish her every second of my life.
