>>>>>>>ONE SUMMER DAY>>>>>>>
[Hello, everyone~! Already the crowd is pumped up!]
Locals and visitors enjoy the vast booths, serving food, drinks, and fun volleyball games suited for all ages.
[I'm Jester and this is my right-hand man, Ken!]
[What up people~! This year's games are going to be a thriller!]
[Cause we'll be seeing professional volleyball athletes participating in this fundraising event.]
[And remember—half the proceeds will go to every high school team attending the Spring National Tournament. So, all you fans out there get your game on and support whichever school you favor to win this year.]
VRRRR~
C-Clack!
Above the crowd, a taxi pulls up before two passengers exit.
"Thanks for the ride."
"You're welcome."
The two look through the fence, watching everyone having fun.
"It's been forever since we came back."
"It wasn't that long."
"Don't be so dull, man. It's supposed to feel nostalgic."
They take the downhill path to the park before walking down some steps.
"Well, well..."
They notice the man who tips his fedora to them.
"If it isn't Hinata Shoyo and Kageyama Tobio, the former elite duo."
"Ah, you're..."
"Akiyama Yoshio."
"Pleasure to see you boys again."
"Were you invited as well?"
"You kidding? I wouldn't pass this opportunity for anything. It'll be a great headline."
"But I didn't think the fundraiser would be in this year's Tokyo's Local Summer Games."
"Honestly, I wasn't sure if you'd make it, since you two live in different countries now."
"We didn't have any games this week, so we asked for time off."
"More like my team forced me to take a vacation."
"That's cause you don't know how to relax."
Akiyama chuckles, seeing how close their friendship and rivalry is even after all this time apart.
"Ah, look! It's Hinata!"
"The Ninja Shoyo!"
"Is that Kageyama-san with him?"
RUMBLE~!
"Geh/Ah."
The men sweat-drop as a swarm of fans surround them.
"You guys are so cool!"
"Can I get your autograph, please?"
"Take a picture with us!"
FWEET~!!
Suddenly, a whistle is blown by an officer nearby.
"Alright, everyone, break it up. They're here on vacation so let's be courteous to not cause a ruckus and give them some privacy."
"Daichi-san!"
Shoyo gives Sawamura a high-five before Kageyama shakes his hand.
"What are you doing here?"
"I volunteered as a security guard for the fundraiser. Also, I heard about the news, so I couldn't refuse."
"As expected of an officer."
"Are the others here?"
"Sure are!"
They turn around and see all their former teammates and managers.
"Guys!"
"Hinata/Kageyama!"
Tanaka and Nishinoya dive in and tackle their juniors.
"About time you knuckleheads showed up!"
"How ya been?"
"Now everyone is here," Yachi smiles, "this brings back memories."
"Oni-chan!"
"Ohh, Natsu!"
His youngest sister jumps into his arms as they laugh.
"How's it going, sis?"
"Just winning matches, as usual."
"I knew you could. Is mom and dad here, too?"
Natsu points to the left where their parents stand on a hill, waving to them.

"Honestly, I can't decide who to cheer for," Natsu giggles, "but do your best, anyway."
"Count on it."
"Natsu~!"
"Ah, it's Matsuko-san! Gotta go. I'm helping the band schedule their next concert."
"See you after the match!"
Natsu runs off to join the girls.
"Oi~! What are you standing around for?"
"Huh?"
From behind, Kageyama and Shoyo notice their former teammates.
"Hurry up and get changed."
"Bokuto-san~!"
"Hinata~!"
"So loud..."
"How's it going, Kageyama?"
"Hey, Hoshiumi, Ushijima."
"You're late."
"Blunt as always, Ushiwaka."
"Stop calling me that."
"Oikawa-san!"
"Hey, Shoyo."
The two high-five before giving a friendly hug.
"How did you get here before me?"
"I had some free time."
"When do you not," Kageyama mumbles.
"Seriously, you posting yourself at the beach having fun is getting on my nerves."
"Hey, Iwaizumi-san. It's been a while."
"Since the last Olympics."
"Except you're playing a whole new game. Think you can handle it?"
"Hell yeah!"
"Then come on..."
Iwaizumi hands them the uniforms.
"Show em' what you're made of."
"Yes, sir!"
Above the crowd, a group of elderly men sit at the tables under the shade.
"The weather is perfect today."
"Good for drinking."
"Don't even think about it."
Karasuno's coach and Takeda come over with a tray of flavored shaved ice.
"You geezers would have heatstroke under this sun with all that booze."
"Except one of us would pass out."
Nekomata's sarcastic response makes the older men laugh, as the younger coach frowns in displeasure.
"Hello, my friends."
"Shoutarou/Paul."
He smiles at his colleagues.
"Good to see you."
Senior Ukai is the first to shake Shotarou's hand.
"You too, Ikken."
The men watch their former students go about their business, with a few childish antics in the midst.
"This takes me back," Takeda sighs, nostalgically.
"Our boys have grown up," Irihata comments.
"But they'll always be troublesome brats," Washijo playfully scoffs.
"We can't forget who brought us together," Saito implies.
"You're right," Naoi grins.
Each of them take a shaved-ice and raise a toast.
"To our most beloved apprentice and friend."
"Cheers!"
Meanwhile, the former teammates gather in one spot to get a good view for the show.
"Who are you gonna cheer for?"
"They're both good, so this game could go either way."
"...Uh?"
"What's up?"
"Hi, boys."
"Ah, you're..."
They're greeted by Coach Ojiro, Fuji, and Kanato.
"Nice to see you, again."
"You too, sir."
"Uncle."
"Aran, how's it going?"
The relatives share a hug.
"You guys are starting to look alike," Fuji smirks.
"Maybe one of you should shave," Kanato jokes.
"(Unison)Not a chance."
They share a laugh before Yamamoto cuts in.
"Y'know, I thought you'd be in this competition, even though you're not with the Paragons anymore."
"Two of my girls are," Coach Ojiro responds.
"Satoshi and Masaki are volunteering as substitutes," Fuji informs.
"Besides, once is enough," Kanato implies, "we should let the others have a chance."

"Either way, this match is gonna be amazing."
[FWEEEE~EEET!]
Just then, a blow of a whistle echoes through the speakers, getting everyone's attention to the announcers.
[Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to the Volleyball Fundraising Competition!]
[We're kicking things off with two teams we know you'll wanna cheer for both sides. So, let's get started!]
[Our first team and their starting lineup!]
The first to jump out is the owl-face man, wearing a red/white uniform.
[Playing as an outside hitter, the Black Jackals' star ace: Bokuto Koutarou!]
"Hey, hey, hey~!"
"(Unison)HEY, HEY, HEY~!"
People mimic his catchphrase as he throws his fists in the air.
"Annoyingly energetic as always," Akaashi sighs, smiling.
"That's just like Bokuto," Konohoa laughs.
[Next we have a former Schweiden Alders' member now with Italy's Serie A, Ali Roma. Starting setter, Kageyama Tobio!]
"Tobio/Kageyama!"
"Geez, you'd think he could smile a little more," Sugawara teases.
[Let's not forget another former team member of his.]
[That's right. He's now with Poland's Orzel Warszawa. Let's give a hand to this team's opposite hitter: Ushijima Wakatoshi!]
"Ushijima/Senpai/Wakatoshi-kun/Go captain!"
[Taking the stage as their libero, Tachibana Red Falcons': Komori Motoya!]
[And their middle blocker: Suna Rintaro!]
"Thank you!"
Komori happily waves to the crowd while Suna bows his head.
[Finally, we have a legend who made his debut as a beach volleyball player.]
[To you locals of Rio, he's been nicknamed the 'Ninja', opposite hitter to the Asas Sao Paulo, and this team's captain: Hinata Shoyo!]
"Hello, Tokyo~!"
Shoyo jumps, with fans doing the same.
"Go, onii-chan~!"
"Good luck, son!"
[In this year summer games, you may call them...]
"Kenzou!"
Mr. Hinata turns around to see the brunette man, waving to him.
"Fuki! You made it."
"How could I miss this event?"
They give a friendly hug.
"It's been so long since we saw each other. We must go out drinking again."
"Sure thing."
"Y'know..."
"Hm?"
"It's good to see you back on your feet."
Mr. Hinata smiles with gratitude.
"I have you to thank, Fuki. If it weren't for you, I would've never had the courage to see my family again. Thank you for everything."
"I would've done anything for a friend. Besides...I wouldn't be a good uncle to my goddaughter if I stood by and did nothing."
"So, this is where you were."
Two more men come around.
"Abner! Yokuto-kun!"
"Nice to see you again, Coach Hibarida."
"Hello, Coach Ojiro. You and your team have been very supportive to my daughter all these years. I can't thank you enough."
"My goddaughter has one of the best coaches in Tokyo," Hibarida compliments, "I had no doubt you would bring out her potential."
"You two are the ones who gave her that start," Abner comments, "I should be grateful to you for nurturing a wonderful person."
On one side of the court, Team Lethal Titans huddles up.
"Yosh! Are you ready, guys?"
"No sweat!"
"Just don't burn out in the first half."
"We're counting on you guys."
"I'll be taking your spot if you mess up, Tobio-kun."
"I think you're talking about me, Atsumu-chan."
"You act as if I haven't done this before."
"Ahahaha!"
The crowd erupts when the music is turned up.
[And now...the opposing team.]
Coming out first is a man with slicked-back hair, wearing black, white, and orange-colored uniform.
[Playing as a middle-blocker, the captain of the Black Jackals: Meian Shugo!]
"Ooh, it's the captain!"
"Oi~ Shugo-san!"
[Positioning as the libero is that dynamic cutie of the Valiant Paragons: Takahashi Anzu!]
"Hey-yah~!"
The redhead salutes to her fans with a wink. In contrast to the men's uniform, the women's is a sports crop-top and athletic spandex-shorts.
[Another 'VP' member is the heart-throbbing beauty playing as the defensive specialist: Lee Gina!]
"(Unison)Lee-sama~!"
"Woah, is that her fan-club?"
"They're really getting into it."
The boys see them dressed in all sorts of Lee-based merchandise.
[Coming up next is Paragon's former setter and a guitarist to the Tenacious Hearts: Captain of Russia's women's team, (Team/Name), Akira Skye!]
"SKYE~!! BEAT THEIR ASSES!"
"You're all hyped up, Morisuke."
"Must be nice being a lovey-dovey couple."
"Shut up! I'm not gonna waste my energy arguing with ya!"
"Hi, honey~!"
"I'm here, sweetie! You got this!"
Kuroo and Kai chuckle as their friend cheers for his wife.
[Playing as outside hitter, the Schweiden Alders' main man: Romero Nicollas!]
"Romero~/Go, Romero-san!"
"This is one set of first-stringers they got," Atsumu comments.
"It's not over yet," Bokuto smirks.
"Yeah," Kageyama nods.
"I've been waiting for this," Shoyo anticipates.
[Finally...]
"Guys, you have the stuff?"
"Right here."
[You know her as a lead singer of the Tenacious Hearts band, who recently sold their biggest single now playing for your pleasure.]
"Get ready..."
[But to you locals and fans, she's the Illusive Deity...]
[The Double-Dealing Mercenary...]
[Serving as both captain of the Valiant Paragons and in this year's summer games.]
[Give it up for~...]
Like a bird, she soars over everyone before landing on the court with her team.
[Hinata Mizuki!]
POP/CRACKLE/HONK!
"MI-ZU-KI~!!"
More than anyone, former members of Karasuno cheer with loud voices and props for all to hear.
[Together...]
[They are...]
An uproar follows, shaking the earth's surface, and the air grow intense with these six members here before them.
"The crowd's going crazy!"
"They sure are elite."
"A team of monsters, is more like it."
"Momo~! Let's go out drinking tonight! Loser buys the first round!"
"Hey, no fair, Bokkun. I wanna take Mizuki out with the guys to Shinjou's place."
"I've known her longer than you, Tsum-Tsum. Us wing spikers gotta catch up."
"Ladies, ladies~...did you forget who's the fairest one of all, here?"
"Butt out, Oikawa."
"Mizuki-chan~ I missed you!"
"(Unison)Don't ignore us!!"
"Here we go again."
Sakusa groans and Ushijima blankly stares at the useless quarrel, while Hoshiumi looks to Shoyo with uncertainty.
"Have they always been like this?"
"Ehehe...more or less. Ah..."
That's when Shoyo notices Mizuki standing by the net and meets her halfway. Both siblings, despite their small stature, stand taller than anyone. Their existence brimming with every skill, hardship, win, and loss they experienced over the years.
"Good to see you, nee-san."
"Welcome back, Shoyo.
Smiling, they eagerly shake hands, with their friends and family watching as if reliving their fondest memories.
"Both teams! Lineup!"
"Ready for another showdown?"
"You know it."
All eyes are on the court as brother and sister head back to their teams.
"This time..."
"Without doubt..."
"(Unison)We'll be the victors!"
Each member living up to their title, now face off in a match that is sure to engrave in the next generation of the glorious sport that carries on in their hearts.
