shawn hung up the phone with his family, after telling them the news of the pregnancy. of course they were shocked, but nevertheless happy because their son was. it definitely was unexpected for everyone, but they were happy, shawn was happy, even anya was happy.
anya meanwhile, was crying on the phone to her parents. they supported her, but deep down anya knew that her parents were disappointed. after all, she wasn't even in a relationship with shawn, and her parents didn't particularly favour shawn after he stopped talking to their daughter completely.
"i'm sorry! i didn't mean for this to happen," she weeps, clutching the phone to her ear. "i-i thought that everything would be okay! i thought that-"
"anya, we aren't angry with you," her dad reassures her. "it's a shock, yeah, but we support you. if you're happy, we will be."
"i-i am happy," she sniffles. "i just- things with shawn only just started getting better because of this child. i don't know, he seems like he wants the best."
"well, didn't you say he was talking to karen and manny?" her mother asks her gently.
"yeah he is, i think," anya says, looking at her hotel room door. "why?"
"then why don't we all have a dinner when you guys get back? it might be easier for all of us to talk together about things, you know, really make sure shawn and you are okay," her mom suggests.
"that sounds nice," anya agrees, nodding. "let's do that then, anyway i have to go. i'll see you soon, okay? i love you guys."
"we love you more, sweetheart. have a good time," they quickly say goodbye, and hang up, leaving anya to finish getting ready, and leave her room to meet the rest of the crew downstairs in the lobby, so they can all leave to go to the festival.
"hey," shawn says softly to her, as she stands next to him, her arms folded. "everything okay with your family?"
"yeah, they're supporting us," she nods. "what about you?" she questions, as shawn sighs, a small smile appearing on his face.
"they're happy," he says. "really happy, actually. they can't wait to be grandparents." anya grins, feeling happiness overcome her.
"i haven't seen your parents for ages," she comments. "my mom was saying for us all to have a dinner when we get back."
"that sounds good," shawn nods, smiling and shoving his hands into his pockets. "so um, andrew was telling me that he has a friend in the uk who's a gynaecologist, so you can maybe go see her when we're there and get a scan? you know, see if everything's okay?"
"that sounds good," anya nods, smiling gently at him. "you'll come with me, right?"
"i mean if you want me to, then i will," he says to her.
"i want you to be there," she tells him, making shawn feel content. "i know you want to be there for the baby, and i know you won't leave me alone. i want you with me every step of the way," anya says confidently, certain with every word she's saying.

"really?" he asks hopefully, anya nods, pushing out a small chuckle.
"yeah," she says softly, making shawn grin again, bringing her into a long hug. anya smiles softly to herself, sliding her hands over his back, resting her head on his shoulder.
"thank you, anya," shawn whispers to her, kissing her forehead gently. "i promise you i won't leave you or our child alone. ever."
"alright parents, let's go," andrew says, walking past the two adults, making them laugh and pull away from their moment. shawn grasps onto anya's hand, guiding her straight to the bus. anya couldn't settle the red that was riddled on her cheeks.
"so, we need to talk about one thing," andrew says to anya and shawn, as they all settle into the bus. "fans. how will you tell them?"
"well we can talk about that after my first scan," anya says immediately. "we don't know if everything is okay, so i don't want to jump ahead of things," shawn nods in agreement.
"yeah, let's wait a bit until we have to have this conversation," shawn says, letting go of anyas hand, much to her dismay. was she catching feelings? "how about we talk about booking that appointment, instead."
"right, i'll give you her number, and you can book an appointment," andrew says, looking at anya. "is there anything else you need?"
"i'm fine for-" anya cuts herself off, feeling the bile rise up her throat. "hold on," she gets up quickly, rushing to the bathroom, and crouching down, throwing up into the toilet. shawns quick to follow, and eases her stress, pulling her hair back delicately, and rubbing circles over her back. "thanks," she mumbles, wiping the side of her mouth and sitting down with a sigh.
"no problem," shawn responds, his eyes soft. "morning sickness?"
"worst part so far," she grins sarcastically, looking at the sink, and back at shawn. "can you get my bag for me please?" she asks him gently. "i have some toothpaste and my toothbrush in there."
"mhm," shawn nods, standing up and leaving the bathroom, heading back into the main part of the bus, picking up her bag, and walking back to the bathroom, opening the door and handing her the backpack.
"thank you," she sighs, opening it up and taking out a wash bag. "god, i hate morning sickness already, and i've only had it like twice."
"it'll ease up soon, my mom said you'll be okay by second trimester, whenever that is," anya lets out a laugh at shawn, taking out her toothbrush and toothpaste.
"oh goodness shawn, go read a book on pregnancy please," she giggles, making shawn grin. "second trimester is three months away."
"woah," shawn says, his eyes wide. "okay, i'll get drunk every night so i wake up with a hangover, and feel like you every morning."
"go sleep for a bit," anya laughs, pointing to outside of the bathroom. "you really are crazy."
"crazy for this baby," he shoots back, winking at anya. her heart flutters, as shawn walks away, a smirk riddled on his lips. anya chuckles softly to herself, finishing up in the bathroom, before collecting her things and walking back to the main part, seeing the band now greeting shawn.

"oh my god, anya's here!" mike yells, catching attention of dave, zubin and eddy, who all stop their conversations with shawn, and go to greet anya.
"woah! hey," anya laughs, embracing them all back. "i've missed you guys!"
"we've missed you!" zubin says back. "more than shawn, don't tell him that."
"oh, i'm sure i can boast a little," she says, a mischievous glint in her eye. "guys, we need to tell you the news!" she says excitedly, genuinely happy about the baby. "shawn?"
"oh right!" he says, grinning ear to ear, and walking next to anya. "so, after a very drunk one night stand, anya and i are-"
"dating? no i can't see it," mike says immediately, making the rest of the group laugh.
"expecting a baby!" anya finishes, making the groups eyes go wide and their jaws drop open. "uh, guys?"
"you two?" eddy asks. "a baby?" anya and shawn both nod, as shawn slips his arm around her waist. "dear lord this is the trigger cause of world war three."
"so like, you guys are gonna raise a baby together?" mike asks them carefully, making shawn and her nod yet again. "you guys, shawn you really need to watch your mouth."
"why does everyone blame everything on me?" shawn shoots back, taking his arm from around anya's waist. "she's not an angel herself."
"shawn, a baby comes with lots of responsibility, take it from me as someone who has two of them," zubin says calmly. "you and anya can't be bickering and having silly arguments while there's a baby around. and you can't be opening your mouth to say offensive things to her."
"but it's not always my fault!" he complains back, scrunching up his face in confusion. "she acts petty sometimes, so why aren't you guys telling her to shut up and watch her mouth?"
"shawn," anya says calmly, placing her hand on his arm. "come on, let's go to the room at the back," she guides him away from the scene, and opens the door to shawns bedroom at the back of the bus, letting him go inside and flop down onto the bed. "don't worry about it."
"but they're right," shawn admits, not looking up from his pillow. "they're completely right."
"no they aren't," anya says softly to him, sitting down next to him. "come on, i'm to blame for a lot of things between us."
"but you're not, that's the thing," shawn sighs, sitting up. "every single thing that's happened between us was my fault. period."
"do you know what you've done right, though?" she asks him gently, as he looks at her curiously. "that night," she begins, taking his hand in hers and placing it onto her abdomen. "come on shawn, you're gonna be a dad soon. even though it was a mistake, it's the best mistake you've made."
shawn looks up at her optimistically, sitting up completely so that they are more or less face to face. "why do you always see the best in me?" shawn asks her quietly. "i made years of your life the shittiest years you could've had."
"god damn it, shawn, stop being so hung up on the past," anya says to him, starting to get slightly annoyed at him. "i see the best in you because you are a good person. stop thinking you aren't."
"anya-"
"no," she says, cutting him off completely. "we're gonna have a child, shawn, and that child will adore you no matter what because they will know that you are a good person, and that you will be the best father out there, because i know you will be," she says gently, cupping his cheeks with her hands. "this child is our future, shawn. we can't keep thinking about the past when we have our future to look after."
"you're right," he finally sighs, making anya let go of his soft cheeks. "you really are a good person, anya."
"come on, nap for a bit, i'll wake you up when we get there," she says, letting shawn lie down at stretch out his legs.
"you know, i really should be the one treating you, so," he says, rolling off of the bed, and pushing anya down lightly by her shoulders. "you go to sleep, and i'll wake you up."
"not so fast mister," she teases, tripping him up with her leg so he lands on the bed. "you have a show later. sleep." shawn dramatically sighs, lying down next to anya. "i want a baby girl." she tells him randomly.
"i want a baby girl too," shawn grins, looking towards anya, turning his head slightly. "but a baby boy would be nice too."
"what if we have twins?" anya jokes, making shawn chuckle. "honestly, i don't think i would be able to cope with two."
"somehow i don't think you would cope with two," shawn says, making anya nudge him. "hey, you said it!"
"i'm allowed to!" she giggles, rolling over, so her back is facing shawn. "cuddle me, i'm cold."
"seriously?" shawn chuckles, moving closer, and sliding his arm around her body. "i wanted to be the little spoon."
"tough luck, i'm pregnant," she says to him, as he rolls his eyes playfully, his eyes fluttering shut shortly after. "you can be the little spoon tomorrow."
"so cuddling is gonna be a regular thing?" shawn teases her, making her cheeks flush gently.
"maybe."
with a small smile, shawn falls asleep. maybe this wouldn't be as bad as he thought it would be. maybe anya has feelings for him, as he has feelings for her.
that was the reason why he made anya's life a living hell. that was why he broke up jason and anya.
safe to say, shawn was falling. fast.
