Later that evening Maverick was over at Icemans bungalow again. She was having a hard time believing that the board declared it wasn't her fault and that they wanted to investigate further, which meant Maverick needed a new Rio. Maverick wondered who they would pick as her Rio because she got along with pretty much all the boys.
"Hey Mav. Sorry I was late." Iceman said. He gently kissed Mavericks head.
"Doin okay??"
Maverick shrugged.
"Just been thinking about it all." She said looking up at Iceman. Maverick would be lucky to have a Rio twice as good as Iceman or Peter Mitchell.
"Well, I gotcha something for tonight." Iceman said smiling.
"You did?" Maverick said looking up at Iceman.
"Mhm." Iceman said nodding and smiled.
"Why dontcha try it on."
Maverick smiled picking up the big bag and opened it.
"Nooo Tom, you didn't have too." She said holding up the real pretty white dress that could almost pass as a wedding dress.
"There's more." Iceman said. Maverick reached into the bag as she sat on the bed and pulled out a cute jewelry set.
"You really didn't have to Kazansky." Maverick said looking up at Iceman. She put on the bracelet and matching earrings seeming to have perked up a bit more.
"I wanted to. You needed a cheering up." Iceman said kissing Maverick as he sat across from her.
"Also have good news for you. You've got yourself a Rio too."
"I do???" Maverick said.
"Mhm. We'll meet him when your done getting ready." Iceman said. Maverick smiled and stood up, kissing Iceman on the lips.
"I'm going to go put this on." Maverick said. She went through her bag and got some perfume out taking it to the bathroom with her. Maverick started with her makeup and then once she was done with that, she put on the dress.

"Oh my god Ice...."
"What?" Iceman said rushing into the bathroom to seeing Maverick looking herself over. He practically had to hold himself down and bit his bottom lip.
"Are you sure this isn't a wedding dress because it feels like the material?" Maverick asked.
"I got it from one but it's not their typical wedding dress. It can be worn at prom or whatever fancy occasion." Iceman said looking Maverick over. He waved his right hand around in a circle motion to get Mav to turn around. Maverick complied. Iceman smiled and chewed on his wad of chewing gum.
"I love it. How does it feel to you? Be honest with me." Iceman said.
"It's perfect." Maverick said, "Feels almost too perfect."
Iceman chuckled and walked towards Maverick, resting one hand on her hip an the other on her cheek as he kissed Mav.
"You look perfect in it." Iceman said. He smiled and fluffed Mavericks curly hair, "Are you going to change it or keep it down? Cause it'll look good either way babe."
"I'm going to pull it back. I want the pearls to be visible and earrings too." Maverick said readjusting the top and Iceman did his iconic growl that he did when he first saw Maverick. She rolled her eyes playfully at Iceman and he hugged her from the side as Maverick pulled her hair back into a fancy high ponytail. That's when Iceman realized how crazy long Mavericks hair really was. He came up behind her and playfully pulled on it.
"Hi beautiful." Iceman said as Maverick looked over at him. He tightened her ponytail and wrapped his arms around Maverick while she brushed her teeth. Mav chuckled when Iceman tickled her after she finished brushing her teeth.

"Your adorable y'know?"
She smiled and Iceman brushed his nose over Mavericks, making her laugh an crinkle her nose.
"I love you Tom Kazansky." Maverick said softly looking up at him.
"I love you back." Iceman said brushing off the shoulder of his dress whites, "Ready to go??"
Maverick nodded looking up at Iceman. She was more than ready.

Maverick laughed at something Iceman said as he opened the door for her and Maverick walked through the doorway first, his hand on the small of her back. She paused hearing how quiet it got and then looked around seeing everyone's reaction as Iceman stepped into the bar. Maverick squeezed Iceman's hand and led him to their usual table. Iceman as usual was wearing his aviators indoors. Maverick waved the bartender down and got them both a beer. Iceman put his arm around Maverick and she smiled at him. Somehow, Iceman made all the bad in her life go away. And Maverick really appreciated that honestly. She turned and leaned her head against his shoulder, most of the boys would have flipped out on her but not Iceman, he smiled at her an kissed her not caring who saw them.
"Hey Mav!" Peter Mitchell said, "So I was told that I had to meet you here because they want me to train as your Rio."
"So you're the one?" Maverick said to him.
"Yeah." Peter Mitchell said.
"What about Sundown?" Maverick asked.
"No idea." Peter Mitchell said.
Maverick nodded and smiled.
"Glad to have you as my sharp shooter Ghostrider." She said and Iceman smirked looking at Ghostrider. He nodded and smiled then went to the bar probably to get a drink. Maverick looked at Iceman as he sneered watching Ghostrider.
"Although I'd prefer it if you were my Rio." Maverick told Iceman.
"I'd take that over Peter Mitchell any day." Iceman said, "I'm asking for you to be transferred to my bungalow by the way."
"What? Why?" Maverick asked surprised.
"Because I'm not letting you out of my fucking sight Brett Johnson." Iceman said smiling at her and Maverick smiled back in return. She was too excited to even speak, she was speechless. Maverick took a second to recover.
"You can't be serious!" She said, "What if you get tired of me?"
"Never happening sweetheart." Iceman said pressing his thumb against her bottom lip. Maverick could feel the butterflies in her stomach as Iceman took off his aviators looking into her eyes.
"I can't ever get tired of you honey."
Maverick blushed seeing how his expression softened when he looked at her.
"Ice I..." Maverick was speechless.
"Just don't say anything Babiegirl. This is on me." Iceman said kissing her a second time then flagged down the bartender getting another one for them both. Maverick watched her alcohol consumption because they had lectures out of the wazoo tomorrow and she didn't want to be suffering from a hangover. She sipped on her beer when their song came on, making Maverick hum it. Iceman finished his beer as Maverick did too. Maverick got herself a water as Iceman had his third Beer.

The Rise of the Winter Wolf

The entire population of the world that you were born into suddenly transported to another planet along with the rest of the intelligent inhabitants of the Milky Way Galaxy. A strange System talking to you about abilities and levels without a care for your opinions. Thousands of monster spawning dungeons placed around the new world without a care for the new inhabitants. And if those weren't bad enough, a forced invitation for one thousand random individuals to compete in a livestreamed competition within a dungeon with the rank of Administrator as the prize. You don’t know? Well, it’s actually pretty simple. You survive. Our story follows Wolf Adler as he, along with every other human on Earth, are faced with a strange blue box filling up their vision, warning them about an upcoming reappropriation of every being of sufficient intelligence to a new planet for the initialization of some sort of System. Will he perish in this new world? Or will he thrive? Except for the first 4 chapters, Book 1 has been moved to Amazon Kindle Unlimited. Except for the first 4 chapters, Book 2 has been moved to Amazon Kindle Unlimited. If you do not have the financial means to purchase the books, then you may DM me on discord through my discord channel for a pdf version of the book. There is only one main protagonist, but the story does have more than one perspective that it is told from. It's mostly first person from the main protagonist and third person perspective for the livestreams. The beginning of the story has also been massively rewritten since most of the reviews as of 1/23/2022. The release schedule right now is dependent on my college classes and coursework, but I always try to keep it to at least one chapter every other day, if not one chapter every day. I do not write sexual content or harem stuff. I am also not very interested in writing romance, so if you think you might see some romance, then you are probably wrong unless it's only a slight hint at romance or a slow romance very far into the story. Lastly, know that I don't like long-winding antagonists that get on everyone's nerves and last throughout the entire story. And I do like plot twists, so if you are predicting something that you think is going to happen later on that you dislike, (particularly around the middle to end of book two) then it likely won't happen.

The Laptop Hero (Portal/Isekai LitRPG)
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] - April 2022 Silas got summoned to another world—by a group of kids attending magic school who seemed rather unhappy with the results of their ritual. After a brief glimpse of his summoners Silas woke in the town dump. Unable to speak the local language, a misunderstanding escalated and before long Silas wound up in a jail cell, the locals having confiscated all his worldly possessions aside from his laptop, which had formed some strange bond with him. Now he can summon his laptop at will, and he can view his Status, level up, and gain powerful skills and magic as if he were some character in a video game, which is great and everything, but all Silas really wants to do is sit in a dark room and play games on his laptop. Only, life isn't a game, and Silas needs to get his act together because everyone else is playing for keeps. Or does he? Maybe for Silas life is just one big game now, with everyone else stuck playing by his rules. Assorted Disclaimers, in no particular order: I am only posting this on RoyalRoad.com, so if you find my story elsewhere it was not posted by me. Please do let me know! While I do consider this a progression fantasy, and have tagged it as such, Silas's Status improvements will not necessarily proceed in a linear fashion. His RPG stats will have ups and downs, exploits and nerfs, periods of growth and stagnation. Such is the life of a gamer, to be held under the thumb of the all powerful devs, or in this case a certain goddess devoted to the idea of Balance. SIlas himself should learn and grow, improving and progressing in areas where he struggles, or rather, to show such is my goal. The story is told from multiple points of view. While other PoVs will come and go, Silas shall remain the only lead character. The world Silas finds himself on is not a nice place. Expect him to encounter gore and traumatizing content and bad people who do bad things for selfish (or possibly noble) reasons from time to time. Some characters will use profanity, however due to cultural differences the curse words used will differ from those used in our corner of reality, so I'm not including the profanity content warning. Silas himself isn't one for foul language. No explicit sexual content here. This novel is intended for mature readers, however, and will include mature topics, including, but not limited to, sex, violence, death, and taxes. No harem. Might be an eventual romantic interest, possibly even some competitive jealousy, yet as his story begins Silas is too overwhelmed with other concerns to consider long term plans. Musophobics might want to steer clear of this story. Same goes for turophobics. You have been warned. Keep in mind, however, if my other disclaimers didn't make this clear, I only have the faintest of outlines at the moment. This story will take me where it will. My goal with this story is to write it to the end, something of a long-term writing exercise, with the hope others might take an interest in my work and encourage me to keep at it. I've started a number of works before, even finished a few, but this is the first time I've shared any work in a public forum. My temporary cover was made by me, in GIMP using public domain images. If you can do better I'll happily accept your submission and give credit for your work here!
