"And ever since then, we've been searching places for you, looking for any signs. We entered into mafia, yes mafia...", Taehyung spoke to the boy whose eyes widened.
After seeing Jungkook's hands still trembling, he held them softly in his,
TAE- We all regret, Jungkook. We all do. I'm sorry, for not trusting you and being such an asshole at that time...we have been regretting every single day ever since you left us...
JIN- We all are sorry, Jungkook.
JIMIN- It's all my mistake, if only I had more brains. I admit that I was a bit angry when I first saw you being close to others. I'm s-sorry. - he cried out.
HOSEOK- I'm sorry too, Jungkook.
NAMJOON- I'm sorry.
SUGA- I am really sorry too, little boy.
TAE- Will you forgive us? Please...I know it's difficult to forget as well as forgive but I promise, we all promise, we'll stay forever with you...
Jungkook all this time had been looking down. But after hearing the last words of Tae, he felt warmness inside his numb heart, something different in years. He couldn't describe the feeling, but he looked up at them, tears streaming down his cheeks, one by one.
Taehyung wiped his tears with the pad of his own thumb, softly and then kissed his eyes, which made the younger one feel something in his stomach. Without caring, he hugged the older.
Taehyung was surprised, but he smiled slightly and snuggled the youngest closer if it were possible. Their hug was tight but not enough to hurt Jungkook in any way, Jungkook's arms around Tae's waist, the latter's around the boy as if spooning the boy in his embrace and wanting to never let go.
It remained like that for a while, as the other boys looked at each other, their lips curved into small smiles.
Finally, when the hug was broken, Jungkook looked down, rubbing his eyes with his fists, then,
JUNGKOOK- I-i f-forgive y-you...
Jimin broke into tears feeling too bad.
JUNGKOOK- D-don't c-cry...c-chim h-hyungie...
Jimin came closer to the boy as Taehyung backed off, and hugged him, petting the younger's head.

It was late in the morning. All of them were sleeping since last night, for they were tired, except Jungkook, who couldn't sleep at all, he just had his eyes closed to let the others sleep.
Once he felt like there was no sound, only low breathing, and a few light snores, he sat up, slowly, while keeping his hands to balance himself but failed, because his wrists couldn't hold himself. He felt like crying, his body aching, but that didn't really matter. Taehyung was sleeping just beside his bed while sitting on the chair. He looked too peaceful to be disturbed, however, Jungkook was thirsty, really thirsty, he hadn't drunk anything for two days straight.

He looked around, and water was kept far in the corner. And so, he decided to stand up. However, as soon as he kept one foot on the ground, he lost his balance.
He closed his eyes, waiting for the impact, which to his surprise(NOT A SURPRISE TO ME THO~) didn't come. Opening his eyes, slightly, he saw the same familiar figure holding him.
Just because of Jungkook's messy movements, Tae had woken up and was now making the boy sit back, without saying anything. He made him keep his back against the soft pillow and,
TAEHYUNG- Do you need something? Hm?
Jungkook shook his head. You might say that the boy was thirsty, why didn't he say it? Why? Because it was the first time in whole damn 6 years when someone asked him if he needed something. Before even if someone did, Jungkook was beaten/and harsh words were thrown at him. So it was natural for the boy to feel scared.
Taehyung sighed, knowing the boy was lying, he could feel it.
TAEHYUNG- Do you need anything, Jungkook?- he spoke in a strict tone.
JUNGKOOK- W-w-water.
TAEHYUNG- Why didn't you tell me, bub?
JUNGKOOK- D-don't b-beat m-me...- the boy whispered shakily.
Taehyung stared at the boy for a few seconds, before petting his head softly,
TAEHYUNG- I'm not gonna do anything like that. You could've told me, and I could've given you water. Hm? Don't be scared, alright?
Jungkook nodded.
TAEHYUNG- Wait for a second.
Tae looked around before going near the corner where the water bottle was kept. He took a paper cup and poured water into it, before going back to Jungkook who was fiddling with the covers of the bed.
TAEHYUNG- Here.
Jungkook looked at the cup, and then at Taehyung before taking it, and sipping it a single time. He took a small sip, and that's it. THAT'S IT.
Tae frowned when the boy handed him the cup back, the contents as it is, except if you count the literal single sip, 'a few literal drops'!
TAEHYUNG- What is it?
Jungkook shook his head.
TAEHYUNG- Are you sure? Is there any problem with the water? It's alright, bub. - he said after drinking it himself.
JUNGKOOK- N-no m-more.
Honestly, this scared Tae a bit. But not to press the topic further, he kept the cup beside the bed, hoping the boy would drink it. He then moved to the windows, sliding the curtains, making the sun's rays fall inside the room, lighting it. He turned on the light as well but frowned as he saw the huddled pile of sheets, just where the younger one sat.

He went close to them and was about to pull them off when he heard a groan.
He looked behind to see, Jimin lying on the floor, Suga still asleep on the couch. Jin and Namjoon are just beside him, cuddled up, now waking up slowly. And Hoseok is half on the ground and half on the chair.
Jimin groaned as he stood up, and glared at Suga.
SUGA- Don't stare, boy.
JIMIN- Shut up, grandpa! You literally kicked me! My butt hurts bad!
Suga just shrugged.
HOSEOK- Mooooorrrrrrrrnnnnniiiinnnnngggggg~
JIN- SHUT UP!
NAMJOON- Don't shout in the morning, guys.
Tae looked at them with the are-you-guys-for-real look. He turned back to see Jungkook's hair visible slightly, as he was all huddled up in the sheets.
JIN- Where's Jungkook, bear?
Tae pointed to the lump, with a look, don't-you-see-it? look.
Jimin stood up and walked closer, slowly picking one of the corners of the sheet, and removing it. However, before he could completely remove it,
JUNGKOOK- N-NO L-LIGHT!
Jungkook once again covered himself up.
Jimin looked at Tae with the am-i-dreaming-or-am-i-the-only-one-who's-mad look, while Tae massaged his temple.
Soon they heard a knock and the doctor entered around with the same doctor as yesterday, Ms. Y/N.
DOCTOR- Is he awake?
TAE- Yeah, but he doesn't seem to be coming out of the sheets.
Y/N went close and stood near, about to grab the sheets,
JIMIN -No! Don't, I tried to remove them too, but he said, 'no light'.
Y/N sighed. She looked at Tae.
Y/N- Did he drink or eat anything?
Tae told me about what happened a couple of minutes ago.
Y/N- Hey Jungkook, did you sleep last night?
JUNGKOOK- *from under the sheets* N-no.
Y/N- Okay. Hmm...
She took out her phone and looked at the others,
Y/N- Guys, can you please turn off the light, and just remove the curtains, the natural light would be enough.
Reluctantly, they did. Once it was dark enough, Y/N turned on her phone's flashlight, that too at 50%.
Y/N- There's no light now, Jungkook, you can come out, dear.
And so, Jungkook's head popped out of the sheets. He looked around, before removing the sheets and sitting up slowly, as Jimin helped him from the side.
Y/N- I need you to answer a few questions, Jungkook. Can you? Please?
The raven head nodded slowly.
Y/N- Okay, so firstly, tell me you don't like light, do you?
JUNGKOOK- N-no.
Y/N- Hmm, next, how do you feel?
Jungkook looked at her and just kept looking.
Y/N- Tell me, do you feel happy?
Jungkook nodded.
Y/N- Do you feel sad?
To others' but not Y/N's surprise, Jungkook again nodded.
Y/N- You are sad.
Nod.
Y/N- You're thirsty.
Nod.
Y/N- Drink this, a single sip, no more.
She handed him the cup which he took and just drank a single sip.
Y/N- I want you to lie down.
He did, with the help of Tae.
Y/N- Now close your eyes.
He did, again.
She slowly took out the sleeping injection and inserted the needle, keeping it there.
Y/N- Now you feel pain.
Nod.
Y/N- No, you don't feel pain!
Fast nods.
She pressed the needle's content until it was 1/4th empty and then removed it, and threw it in the bin. Then she looked back at everyone and kept a finger on her lips, motioning them to stay silent.
A few minutes, and,
Y/N- Okay. Now can you hear me, Jungkook? Answer me, yes or no?
JUNGKOOK- Y-yes. *softly*
Y/N- You won't sleep until I ask you to, but you will keep your eyes closed.
Y/N- Now tell me, are you suffering from little space.
JUNGKOOK- y-yes.
Y/N- Tell me, why didn't you slip into it? And for how long?
JUNGKOOK- 4 y-years, c-cause h-he b-beat m-me.
Y/N- Were you given tablets to control it?
JUNGKOOK- Y-yes.
Y/N- What happened, how did you got caught up in a mess like that? I need you to tell me everything?
Jungkook remained silent for some time, but then, his breath began to go up and down, his body began to shake, as he, "n-no...noo...NO"
He broke into a hysteria of sobs, as he thrashed on the bed. Taehyung closed his eyes, not being able to see it, and held the boy's hand tightly,
Y/N- Jungkook. JUNGKOOK!
His whole body shook once before it all became silent and slowly, his breathing became constant. Y/N kept looking at him, before taking a look at her watch and then at the machines attached to his body.
Y/N- Okay, calm down. That's it. Now go to sleep. Go to sleep, Jungkook.

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)
